PREDICTIONS for Mavs-Celtics NBA Finals Game 1 🏆 ‘Dallas is MORE battle-tested!’ – Haslem | Get Up

obviously W and Wendy are covering the series and not making picks uh Drea what is the most important factor what when this series is over and someone is holding up the Larry O’Brien trophy what will we say was the reason the winning team won the backourt battle Luca and Kyrie against Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown those the two superstars it takes Superstars I know it’s a team game I know there’s five players on the court but the two superstars their Poise their aggression their control and how they insert themselves into the game and force their will that’ll be the battle the two superstars that play the best I anticipate their team winning and I have more trust in luuka and Kyrie because of late game situations that’s really what we’ve seen them be difference making in in this postseason they’ve been incredible and they’ve also been tested like I know Jaylen Brown and I know Jason Tatum have played really well in the finals but when you look at the lineup of the teams they have had to go through Luca and Kyrie have been tested getting out of the West and getting to this position yeah I mean the the Celtics through no fault of their own have played a variety injy ridd teams whereas all three teams the Mavericks beat in the playoffs this year won at least 50 games during the regular season UD you were talking this morning you think the key is porzingis to this series why is he so important I just think the key to this series is porzingis and I have Boston tonight but overall I do think that Dallas will win this series but his stretch in the floor how Dallas is going to guard him are they going to switch those things because if you try to Zone that and get back to him he’s shooting from 28 29 ft and he’s 7 foot so you’re never contesting that shot on the defense pan how active can he be how mobile can he be is he going to be able to slide them puppies are they going to go into a drop so his health and what he’s going to be able to do on both ends of the floor I think it’s going to be huge in this series so I like Boston for tonight but overall in the series I do think Dallas has been more battle tested and I do think in seven games Dallas will win do they know Wy again you’ve been covering all this for us just how well he’ll be able to slide the puppies tonight I what is their expectation for his health well he’s going to play the question how effective he can be in how many minutes I think where where is stamina is where his how his legs feel as the game goes on is is a was a question yeah and we’ve seen you you and I were just talking yesterday about when the Nicks had to put OG and Obi out there what that looked like certainly we don’t expect this to look anything like that but with the big guys and he’s as big as it gets those lower body injuries tend to be a problem what what is the most important factor in this series to you this this is a potentially all-time great player playing against a potentially all-time great team the team the side of those that wins out is probably going to win the whole thing you can make a case that the Celtics potentially are one of the best teams we’ve seen in the last 20 years Luca could be at the beginning of a dominant run here and at the end of this if he’s holding the trophy it could be the beginning of it but I think that the that the the great I know great players win but great teams win too who win who is it the great team or the great player again these guys are not making picks you’re covering the series for us here but that that was a similar thing to what you told me is that you got the be usually the best player wins it usually he does the Celtics their talent is over overwhelming at every position they are deep talented they have stars they have great role players but the best player in the series plays for the Dallas Mavericks Luca donic and he can control the last six seven minutes of a game unlike almost anybody else except for the other two for the two-time MVP Nia joic that’s what’s going to be fascinating to me yeah I mean I think it’s especially interesting because there’s something to be said about mixing a player back into the rotation I know Kristoph porzingis is great but figuring out the lineup figuring out the minutes he’s going to play figuring out when he’s tired who rotates in for him that’s not as easy as it seems because if he’s not as healthy as he was in the regular season his availability in the minutes he can go at a time is not going to be the same as it is in the regular season I hear UD agreeing in my ear but you have to factor that into play your rotations are not going to be the same and they’re going to have to figure it out as each game goes they’re not going to figure it out right away in game one and and and just to put a final bow on this part of it yes the Celtics have been the best team in the NBA from the moment the first ball was thrown in the air in October of that there is no question from the time they made these trades the Mavericks have been next so this is not a fluke this is not a surprise right these this team has been this good basically since February this is the proper matchup that we that we’ve been building towards for six months yeah you’re going to see a five next to the Mavericks because that was their seed they were the fifth seated team but if you just go back to February when they made these Acquisitions and again shout out to Tim legler who was calling it the day those trades happen on this show the Mavericks have been the best team in the west so what does it add up to tonight we will finally start to find out the NBA Finals begin 8:30 Eastern on ABC you see the stars are ready to go it’s Tatum and brown it’s Luca and it’s Kyrie game one coverage will tip with NBA Countdown at 8 Eastern tonight live from Boston [Music] [Applause] [Music] NBA is

  1. Celtics get battle tested for 4-5 years in the playoffs they don’t get battle tested for one playoff run and dallas does all of a sudden boston isn’t battle tested . NGL TO YOU SOMETIMES IT GETS VERY ANNOYING HEARING THESE ANALYSTS CAUSE ITS LIKE THE SKIP OR OVERLOOK SO MUCH CONTEXT I SWEAR I WOULD DO A BETTER JOB ON ANALYZING CERTAIN SITUATIONS

  2. People who say the mavs are more battle tested. Do not forget the road the Celtics have gone through for the past 6 years. Compared to the mavs 2 years. It isn’t just about one postseason

  3. I don’t know about the Mavs. Dallas has issue isn’t KP the whole Boston team. I think it’s just to much talent overall for the Mavs. Boston in 5.

  4. Remember the Mavs were 4 games over 500 in February and got smoked by the Celtics in both games and that was after the trade but no one mentions that

  5. Seems some are forgetting it was the T-Wolves that beat Denver, not Dallas. Who's to say if Dallas had played Denver, they are even making it this far. Both Teams have 1 player that were Key for their Teams winning a NBA Title. So both have the same amount of pedigree when it comes to that. Also, This YEAR doesn't give a BLANK, what you did last year.

  6. Bold prediction, but I think it's possible that Luka drops 50 in Game 1 and wins. He might go 2018 LeBron on Boston. He may already be one of the best ever at 25, so I wouldn't be shocked if we see a 50 piece

  7. The Malika 2.0 wannabe is a simpleton. Her argument is basic level. Trust Luka and Kyrie more? Lol. Absolutely zero substance at all.

  8. If KP is the key then Dallas wins the Finals. He'll be so rusty and limited minutes. Dallas will go full speed up and down the court and blast Boston when KP is on the court.

  9. The Celtics will win. Sick of these heat/laker lovers covering this series. Go cover your off season bro.

  10. "Celtics been battle tested?" It's a new season with new players. The Mavs had the best clutch record in the regular season coming into the playoffs, and proved it again so far in the postseason. So this season, Mavs been battle tested more than the Celtics.

  11. Since 1986, the Mavericks and the Celtics have won an equal amount of championships.

  12. PLEAE TELL ANDRAYA THAT NONE OF THE TWO CELTICS PLAYERS SHE TALKS ABOUT ARE PLAYING IN THE BACKCOURT.

    Thanks.

  13. Look up the stats on Kristaps in the PnR. He can’t blitz hard and he doesn’t hedge well. Saying he’s the factor in the series is wild. I bet he gets 15-20 min MAX a game this series.

  14. How? Tatum and brown have been going up against Giannis, Butler and Embiid for years and usually beating them. Luka just got here

  15. Can we please let go of the "being tested" narrative? An entity can still be the best without being tested.

Without being tested, we cannot use that lack of information to decide if they are better or worse than another team. Logic 101, I know it's a tough thing for people to try to use.

  16. The key for the Celtics is obviously Porzingis. Can he get back to playing how he was playing in the regular season. The key for the Mavs I think is Derrick Jones Jr. Can he hit that corner 3 consistently.
