I’m so ready for this. I legit feel like we’ve been waiting two years for this. Everyone whining about, “Well, what matters is if they win a championship” every time we win, or, “This is why people aren’t confident they can win a championship” every game we lose.
We’re not the same team as last year, and we’re definitely not the same team as the year before. The Heat shot their asses off, but I don’t think it was an accident that team got taken down. I think the expectations of everyone else was in their heads, and they thought if they just “played well” they “should” take the next step.
I don’t think they’re motivated by outside forces this year. Yeah, they hear it. Yeah, they want to shut them up. But, I think they know who they are this year, and they’re focused. Yeah, we might lose, but it’s not because our mindset was off.
It’s the finals, baby. It’s not supposed to be easy. It’s not supposed to be certain. We’re supposed to have to beat superstars.
