It is the most points by a player in Game 1 of The Finals after having missed the previous two rounds since the league transitioned to a 16-team format in 1984.
Previously, the most points by a player who fit these qualifiers was 7 points, by Andre Iguodala (GSW v BOS on June 2, 2022).

Man Celtics with healthy KP too much fire power Dallas needs big adjustments for game 2. KP got the freshest leg out of all the starting 5 and it’s showing. Man Boston getting so lucky this year they faced injured teams so didn’t need KP and he got so much rest got healthy just on time for the Celtics.
