The New York Knicks Just Did EXACTLY What The NBA Feared..

there’s absolutely no answer for what the New York Knicks are doing the disrespect is real and nobody seems to notice what this team is capable of this team has so much potential that the NBA still hasn’t realized the New York Knicks just did exactly what the NBA feared and that’s what we’re going to talk about in this video last night we had the NBA finals in which the Celtics beat the Mavs personally I couldn’t care less about the finals the Knicks were absolutely robbed this season primarily due to numerous injuries by game seven it was almost expected that they’d fall short considering six or seven key players had undergone season ending surgery since December it’s unfortunate but in the playoffs the healthiest team usually wins and staying healthy will be the Knick’s main goal moving forward there’s been some talk about potentially moving on from Julius Randall the Knicks have stated they don’t want to trade him but if a star player like Devin Booker or Kevin Durant were to come to New York they might have to reconsider to acquire one of those Stars trading Randall would likely be necessary along with some draft picks and possibly other players however I don’t think the Knicks need to make such a drastic move to win a championship if the Knicks had stayed healthy I believe they would have made it to the finals this year I understand the Celtics were a 64- win team ranking in the top five for both offense and defense however in their fourth and final match up against the Knicks it was clear that the Knicks dominated they led by 30 points going into the fourth quarter and rested some starters allowing the Celtics to catch up a bit but that’s the thing about the Knicks they were built to win Jaylen Brunson who is a top option on a finals team performed impressively in the playoffs averaging over 30 points per game with high efficiency he got to the free throw line and was aggressive Dante dant chenzo was hitting three-pointers and elevated his game in the Play play offs just like Josh Hart both of them along with Brunson were part of a championship winning Villanova wild catch team and brought that winning mindset to the Knicks but the real Focus here is on Isaiah hartenstein and OG anunobi the key players were discussing both are free agents and losing them would be a significant blow to the Knicks while they could potentially replace them OG’s impact on the team’s defense was immense before his arrival the Knicks struggled defensively but they became the top defensive team after he joined hardenstein is versatile he can pass rebound hustle and is incredibly quick for his size although listed as a seven-footer he moves more like a forward or a big not a traditional Center in Mitchell Robinson’s absence hardenstein kept the Knicks competitive by averaging nine rebounds nine points 3.2 assists 1.1 Steals and 1.2 blocks over 64 starts and including the playoffs hardenstein is expected to get between $80 to $100 million in free agency but the Knicks can only offer him around $ 72.5 million over four years this amount seems generous but other teams like the Oklahoma City Thunder can offer more hardenstein has to decide if he wants to take a pay cut to stay with the Knicks or leave for a higher offer elsewhere another option is to sign a one-year deal with the Knicks and then potentially get a bigger cont contract next season although a Max contract isn’t feasible for the Knicks a lucrative one-year deal could be a compromise remaining with the Knicks on a 4-year 72.5 million contract would keep him with his teammates maintaining the team strong chemistry from last season the decision is still pending with plenty of time before it needs to be made additionally Mitchel Robinson is a potential trade candidate and his future with the Knicks is uncertain if hardenstein and Robinson stay they could form a formidable Duo but the Knicks have limited Financial flexibility key players like Josh Hart Julius Randall Jaylen Brunson Dante Devan chenzo and Miles McBride already account for 102.5 million adding hartenstein at $16 million and another player at around $35 million totals $154 million for eight players leaving only $1 million from the tax with with six spots to fill the Knicks have two first round picks and can offer minimum contracts which is beneficial winning 50 games in New York makes them an attractive option for players Alec Burks joined the team on a modest salary and performed well against the Pacers showing the potential impact of Veteran additions Jericho Sims is earning about $2.5 million making it feasible for the Knicks to manage similar signings if James Dolan wants the team to succeed they might need to exceed the tax threshold keeping buan bogdanovich who could cost around $19 million would require this if they trade or lose him they’d still owe $2 million but assuming he stays they must pay him bogdanovich proved his value with his shooting especially in key moments like the game against the Kings he and Burks were crucial and Ban’s shooting Off the Bench is what the Knicks need not more defensive players this was evident against the Pacers who shot historically well partly because the Knicks were exhausted and lack depth winning game three to go up three to zero or game six would have been ideal but they missed those opportunities it’s just one of those things you can’t control injuries happen and while playing guys less might help the Knicks risk losing games when their key players like Jaylen Brunson Hart and diven chenzo aren’t on the court the backups like McBride anuna Burks and Buon don’t provide the same impact as the starters this is an area the Knicks can improve the Pacers for example had a solid rotation of 8 to 10 players showing that Talent often beats depth but the Knicks need more depth Josh Hart playing 43 to 44 minutes a game in the playoffs is unsustainable Jaylen Brunson dealt with several injuries and eventually broke his hand despite the unfortunate playoffs the Knicks have a strong Foundation before coach tibo they couldn’t win 50 games and often won less than 40% of their games now they’ve won 50 out of 82 which is promising looking ahead the Knicks have decisions to make regarding hardenstein OG and their 24th and 25th draft picks Alec Burks is in unrestricted free agent meaning you can sign with any team precious AA is a restricted free agent so the Knicks can match any offer he receives it may take time to see what happens with the Kwa as teams evaluate his value one topic not getting much attention is coach tibo’s contract extension Monty Williams signed a six-year $73 million deal Greg papovich got $80 million over 5 years Steve cert added two years at $35 million $7.5 million a year and Eric spoler secured $120 million over8 years I believe Eric spoler is the best coach in the NBA though Greg papovich deserves recognition too coach tibo’s expected value is around $12 million a year so a $48 million contract over for years would be reasonable this would be good value considering the Knicks have a 55% win rate under Tibido with a record of 175 to 143 ranking sixth in franchise history Tibido has transformed the team’s culture and identity the Nicks were once a team no one wanted to join with the Allure of Madison Square Garden being their only draw now they are a tough physical team reminiscent of the 90s and early 2000s before Tibido the Knicks had six straight Seasons with a sub 40% win rate one could argue he deserves even more than $12 million a year but getting him at that rate would be great value for the Knicks last season was remarkable for the Knicks 50 wins the number two Seas and a second round appearance despite facing adversity Jaylen Brunson showcased his Superstar abilities remarkably they achieved this without Julius Randall whose presence could have propelled them to the Conference Finals even though the Celtics seemed formidable the absence of key players makes outcomes uncertain randle’s impact on the team is immense he rebounds scores attracts double teams and creates open looks for Brunson watching the Knicks playoff highlights reveals Brunson benefiting from randle’s presence especially with his post playay and passing skills without Randall the Knicks lacked consistent scoring options Beyond Brunson which the Pacers exploited by focusing on him while Dante Devan chenzo occasionally stepped up the Knicks lacked a consistent second option throughout the series with Randall and OG on the court the Knicks proved they could defeat top teams like the Nuggets Sixers and Timber woles convincingly unfortunately injuries halted their momentum despite this their achievements are notable
