Who else wants Knecht? He would fit in perfectly and help the development of our young guards (especially Scoot)

He’s a poor defender, not saying he couldn’t develop but that’s the reality right now and he’s already 23

Too slow to cover SG’s, too small to cover SF’s. Yes, I know his combine testing numbers…those don’t translate to the actual on-court performance so far though.

I like it. We need a young player who can shoot the basketball.

Our only good shooters are on the trading block. If we plan on moving them (ant, brogdon, grant), we need someone who can slot into the 2/3 that can hit 3s. To me it’s as simple as that.

I’d love Salaun at 7, and using our 2nds to move up from 14 for Knecht

  5. Yeah, I think he would be our best pick at 7. He won’t be there at 14 and decent chance he’s not even there at 7. Solid size to play the 2/3. Best three level scorer in the draft, although I think that’s asking a lot to be that at the NBA level. One of the few players shown can run through screens off ball. Good athlete and is a great transition scorer.

Of course his weakness is his defense, but every player in this draft has big red flags. The hope with the lighter offensive load and having the tools (size and athleticism), he can become at least average on defense.

He’s also one of the best fits, and gives us something we don’t have, which helps since at worst he will be in that top tier of BPA. No one in this draft has a realistic shot at being an all star, so let’s get guys who compliment the young players on our roster who do have a shot at being all stars and helping them develop.

    Like you actually know.

  7. No, get us a legit wing with length that can also shoot not Knecht who is too small to “defend” SFs and too slow for SGs.

The only player I like at 7 is Salaun, and if he is gone by 7 since it seems the Spurs and Detroit are interested in him, I’ll be ok with Knecht at 7. He addresses a weakness the Blazers have, and that is shooting.

I’d rather take Tristan Da Silva later in the draft.

If we pick him at 7 id probably wanna go Edey at 14.
