Who cares? Tatum and Brown are both #1 type talents that would be #1s on like 20/30 NBA teams. They happen to play together because Celtics front office did a really good job with their draft picks in back to back years.
Its like when people try to debate if Kyrie could be better than Tatum or Brown. Who the fuck cares? If he’s 2nd best, 3rd best or 4th best it really does not make a difference.

Wish our fanbase took this as a compliment because we have 2 polarizing players that people rate highly but instead it just results in some weird divide that never ends.
It’s important for the Mavs to know that baskeball is a team sport, having to foucs on one player will make the other team give the ball to someone else because the team will double team team, making the other guy open. Smart Defense is key to winning games.
I mean he’s wrong but Jaylen has been seriously incredible this postseason.
he‘s been our best scorer from the field, averaging a hair under 25 PPG on 59.9 eFG% (only LeBron and AD have averaged 20 or more PPG on a better eFG% this postseason). he’s been an absolute demon defensively. he’s made a number of clutch plays throughout this run. and it’s pretty evident that he’s the one who’s taken on the role of leading our locker room after Smart left

I don’t think this is a crazy take, and I’m not even disparaging Tatum when I say that.
Brown is really fucking good. He’s a monster on defense, his versatility really allows other players to shine, is a good shooter and has been extremely clutch. He’s had a great postseason too.
He doesn’t fit the role that most people think of as a star so people default to thinking he’s worse than Tatum but he’s an absolute superstar at the role he does play.
Makes sense he would think that considering Jaylen Brown literally sees Luka as lunch meat at this point. Genuinely never seen Jaylen bully a single player as much as he has with Luka this year. Tatum’s had big games too but the Mavs have literally no answer for Jaylen’s strength and explosiveness

People are actually insane. Like clinically insane. People are on here saying that this one single statement from Kidd, reveals his entire game plan and means that he is desperate and seeking any tactics available to try to squeak out a single win because he knows they have zero chance lol. It’s actually absurd and y’all are like over the top insane.

I really hope the Mavs blow them out tomorrow just to see the narrative change so quickly and people instantly start saying the complete opposite of what they are saying right now. It’s crazy. Then the narrative will be that it’s over for the Celtics and the Mavs will be up 3-1 after going home. But then the Celtics will win game 3 and we’ll flip it back the other way.
