This Trade Proposal is WILD…
ESPN Insider Bobby Marx floats a trade that sends Zack LaVine to the Utah Jazz for John Collins and also to Jordan Clarkson is this a great deal for the Chicago Bulls we’re going to talk about that in today’s video as usual this is your host Rico greenhow this is another episode of bulls digest and before we jump into it want to let you know that 76.1% of you guys that watch the videos are not subscribed to the channel so make sure you hit that subscribe button so you can stay up to date with the latest news and happenings around your Chicago Bulls without further Ado guys let’s jump into the topic of the day which is the Bulls trade LaVine to the Utah Jazz all right so as I look at this deal I must say I like it it has the Chicago Bulls sending over LaVine and we’re not attaching an asset to this guys and so I like this deal a whole bunch and we’re getting some needs met one we’re getting a much needed uh shooter out there that can knock down thre pointers and he’s more of a wing player so that’s one thing that we’re kind of checking the Box on and two we are getting an athletic big that will rebound and also attack the rim he’s going to be a great asset uh to run along with Kobe white I’m thinking of the days of when he was catching lobs and stuff like that off the backboard from Trey young like we’re going to get an exciting big man that is going to essentially attack the rim and open it up for others um on the perimeter so I like that and he can knock down some shots guys and so you can find this article on ESPN plus by Bobby Marx again he is the front offense Insider on ESPN but briefly th this is essentially what he was talking about as you see uh no new news here what I’m talking about so Collins Clarkson uh traded for Zack LaVine the great thing about this is that we are not going to trade off any assets he talks a little bit more about what we’re looking at from a salary cap exchange it looks like the Jazz would add 2.3 million to their cap sheet um you get a chance to see essentially what the numbers are looking like for Collins and also to LaVine but the key aspect of this guys is that the assets that we’re taking back between Clarkson and Collins they only have two more years left on the deal so essentially we’re getting some good assets back and they’re uh going into an expiring contract so to speak so love that about it um so I I mean a lot to unpack there so it it looks good from a contract standpoint for the Chicago Bulls if they take these players on and I think for Utah it looks good for them because they’re getting an All-Star player that they can get back they’re hoping that they could possibly get this guy back to a 25 uh five and five type of player out there so I I get where Danny a is going with this um I think that you know it’s going to help them continue to build their young core um and not so bad I mean after they’ve moved on from Rudy gobert and then also too they moved on from um Donovan Mitchell as well so I think that Danny a is definitely pushing the Utah Jazz in a a a the right direction and so with us I love the fact that we’re not giving up the asset guys but there are some downsides of this deal and so let’s start with Jordan Clarkson all right and so when we look at his stats guys um you’re going to see that he won the Sixth Man of the Year in 2020 which is fine but you’re also going to see guys that there was a bit of a decline the next season he came back up the next season after that and then he went to another decline as well and circle there the 55 games played all right guys he missed time because he had an inflammation in his back from what I understand it is something going on with his back where he’s having some joints that have swo up in his back which is very scary to me and I believe if you are playing a game show and the they’re they’re asking you to give answers about the Chicago Bulls I’m thinking maybe it’s Family Feud if you say injuries that is probably going to win you points in that game and that’s what’s really scary about Jordan Clarkson coming back is that he is now he’s coming off an injured season and another thing that really scares me here is that when you look at the shot attempts I’m going to bring this back up again guys so look at the two-point attempts and I’m just going to say for even sake that we’re looking at not 9.2 but we’re looking at 10 attempts a game uh that’s just from the two-point attempts and then when we go over to the three-point attempts he’s averaging about six a game all right so that’s 16 shots that he’s going to be taking a game and we’re going to say okay is Billy Donovan going to have enough patience for this guy to go ahead and jack up shots like this with demard de R rozan he trust him to go ahead and get his shots up Kobe white he now trusts him to get his shots up and so does so and the same with dumu as well but with Jordan Clarkson coming in he is a high volume shooter and my question now is how much patience is Billy Donovan going to have with this guy um so that’s that’s that’s two issues that I have with Jordan Clarkson it’s the injuries and then also to the amount of shots that he’s going to take um is that going to get him pulled to the bench now I think Jordan Clarkson is a terrific asset and in my opinion I think that he’s like the 1B to Malik monk in my opinion those are guys that you literally put them in the game and you’re going to get some instant offense and they’re going to stretch the floor so um even if we put him on the second unit I’m I’m okay with that I’d love to go ahead and get rid of Javon Carter and allow him to just uh cook but you’re going to have to say it’s okay for him to shoot so that’s one thing that I would would caution with imparing him with Billy Donovan next let’s look at John Collins all right so um you know John Collins he’s had some good years I love the point production number one all right so we look down at what he’s done in Utah he had 15 points a game that’s a plus for me another Plus for me is that he’s shooting 37% from downtown guys he only had one season where he shot 29% and that’s significant guys because when you look at Vu V had a year in which he shot 29% from downtown and he took five shots as well so he’s already coming in on a plus for me all right so I love the fact that we’re getting this now another scary thing about John Collins we’re looking at the games played now his last season with Atlanta 71 his last season with Utah very good at 68 but he’s also had some tough seasons one he had 41 and another he had 54 and it seems like John Collins is another guy that has some strange injuries guys and so I think that that’s been one of the knocks on him in his career is that he’s had some tough injuries but I love the fact when you look at the rebounding totals look at that guys eight uh nearly 8.5 rebounds a game guys I love the fact that this guy is going to go in and he is going to absolutely rebound the basketball I love that about uh John Collins so this is why I would love to have him over here all right so I think that that’s a win for the Chicago Bulls so I’m going to say out of the deals that I’ve seen between this one and the Portland deal where we would get eighton back I I like this deal a little bit more because I think that John Collins is a guy that stretches the floor a little bit better than Aon and this is a guy that you can actually run a play for and he can create his own shot I love the fact that we get if we’re able to get a healthy Jordan Clarkson over he’s experienced he’s been deep in the playoffs before like a d rozan I think that that’s going to help settle the second unit and it’s also going to get our three-point percentage up as well guys we were at the bottom in that statistic so I I like that right there um so moving forward guys um you know there’s two things to think about now if we were to move on from this you know the Utah Jazz are going to be G or gambling excuse me heavily on the fact that Zack LaVine is going to get back to the TW like I said the 25 Point per game uh average and they’re looking to to get back an All-Star player um just throwing up his numbers really quickly guys and so you know that’s why Utah would take this chance on this deal and you know if we’re not able to make a trade like this guys the next thing that we would be able to do is hopefully get a salary dump and I know I’ve been seeing the comments and you know people were like you know that can’t happen it won’t happen but there are some teams that possibly could do it a team that was interested in Zack LaVine was the Detroit Pistons um I’m in agreement with most that I would not want to see him twice a year but if Detroit was willing to take on uh his his salary guys I’d say that we’d have to take this and so this last graphic um if you’ve ever checked out the chgo podcast I think that they put up an excellent graphic and this was talked about too in Bobby Mark’s article but this is exactly why the Bulls would want to do a salary cap and what they would benefit here is that um they’re going to get some Financial Financial excuse me flexibility in this salary dump if Detroit were to step in they’re going to avoid the luxury tax to resign to Rosen if that’s what they’d like to do which it looks like we are and then we’re going to be able to get Patrick Williams back and he’s going to demand some money but we’re also going to get a 12.9 million uh mid-level exception too as well guys so this is why you would want to do a salary dump guys and so uh as we close off I like this deal a lot um I think that if we were to get John Collins I absolutely want him starting and if we take Patrick Williams and we bring him back then I would want to start Patrick Williams as well which would mean that I think that we would move dumu back to the bench to go along with a guy like Jordan Clarkson coming off you move d r roen back to his natural two you give now um you give Patrick Williams his natural three you can slide him in the four or the five with v however you want to work that um or we could go ahead and trade V get somebody else in there there’s some free op or free agent options excuse me that we can go after as well guys so I think we have a little bit more room and if we do lose Drummond we also have sonoko that can come off the bench and help us out with rebounding so let me know what you guys think in the comments do you want to go with the Utah Jazz trade or do you feel like the Chicago Bulls should go after a salary dump um let me know in the comments and even though we don’t know what we’re doing and I will say we are getting ready to go around the Maro round this is Rico greenhow and I’m saying peace peace and go Bulls I’ll see you guys on the next one peace peace

Jordan Clarkson is what Coby White is. I've watched Jordan Clarkson and Collins don't move the needle. I've watched Jordan since the Lakers and he could always score with the best of them. So I don't know how he makes the Bulls better.
Utah is trying to replace Spider with a scorer which Zach is. Zach is a scorer and he will be back in the top 10 in scoring on the Jazz.
It's just jazz get something they can use and bulls get something they can use. I'd do it if I got some 2nd round picks off the jazz or something
Is 16 shots high volume? I’m not interested in Jordan, because we already have a ton of guards. I am very interested in what will happen this offseason. I’m not interested in trading DeRozen. Zach wants to go back to Cali. Give us AD, you get Zach.
