2024 NBA Mock Draft | NBA Finals Edition | Full First Round

boys what’s good it’s Herm it’s NBA finals week but that means we’re only about two weeks away from the NBA draft which is exciting it’s always a good time when it’s NBA Draft time a lot of Team seasons are over 28 teams are already done they are deep into draft stuff and looking into free agency after that but I want to talk about the draft today I want to do a mock draft during this NBA finals week and just get an idea of it big win by the Celtics last night by the way porzingis looked fantastic but we’re going to get into this mock a draft that many people would say isn’t quite as good as some of the years we’ve had recently but I still think there’s a lot of value especially as you get deeper in it’s a very good role player draft might not be Superstars at the top but still some very good players uh just maybe not great ones but we’re still going to get into it and with the Hawks at number one I think there’s some debate whether it’s Reay or Alex SAR at one I think they’re between the two players and we’ll get into who I have and that is Alexandre SAR out of the NBL uh the Perth Hawks I believe is who he was playing for uh would be playing for the Hawks again here the Atlanta Hawks Center SL power forward Alexandre SAR you don’t see a player this versatile defensively at his size very often I’ve heard him described as a wing in a center’s body can guard almost one through five he could really get close to getting away with it 7′ one according to tangon 200 125 lb 19 points per 36 nine rebounds over three blocks really good rim protector and 58% true shooting the defense I think will be there right away I don’t think there’s as much projection projection with the defensive end it’s about the offense where there are some question marks but if they decide to keep Trey young which I would say is probably up in the air it’s going to make SAR a much better player because of the lob passer that Trey young is his lob passing ability is right near the top of the league it’s either him or Luca probably is the best lob passers he makes centers better and he would make Alex SAR better right away even if he can’t space the floor the pick and roll with SAR and Trey young would be really explosive because of the length and his ability to catch lobs I think there’s a lot of potential there even if Trey’s not there I think you still have a player who you can hope to become a much better player than he is right now as I would say he’s more of a a project than a than a finished project but I think it is the pick SAR to me presents the most upside and could make sense whether Trey is there or Trey is not so to me it has to be SAR at number one at number two we have the Washington Wizards and I have them taking Donovan clinging I had them take Stefan Castle in my last mock draft a point guard who’s really good defensively also out of Yukon but I have them going with a defensive big kind of a walker Kessler type I think there’s more offense there than Walker Kessler has shown throughout his early NBA career but we’ll see uh the Wizards basically have no center right now they have Marvin baggley uh but then they have like rwn Holmes as a backup their Center rotation is really rough right now so getting in a young big who can be a solid contributor right away I think will be a pretty good double double threat early on in his career makes a lot of sense for a team like Washington they tried Jordan P at point guard later in the year and it kind of worked a little better so they might be okay with running at the one they might not decide that they need someone like Castle so they take kingan instead 20 years old 7’3 according to tangon measured a little taller than people might have expected 280 lbs big body 21 points per 36 12 rebounds and four blocks also very efficient I think would be a good building block for a Wizards team that needs a lot of help they could go a lot of different directions but looking at the big man rotation what they have at center right now I think clling and makes a lot of sense if SAR is still there I think that they would love that as well but SAR or kingan seem like the picks for Washington right now and number three it’s the Houston Rockets who I think are definitely going to have discussions about trading this pick they might not decide to keep it at all they’ve talked with Brooklyn I believe they’ve talked with Phoenix as well there was another team maybe no it was Memphis they’ve talked with Memphis and they’ve talked with Brooklyn about trading the pick they uh are interested in Mel Bridges if that is possible but the Nets uh want to build around Mel Bridges is the reports I’m seeing which seems crazy to me so for now the Rockets are staying in picking and all of them taking guard Reed Shepard out of Kentucky uh they need some more shooting I just think that’s the thing that the rockets need Jaylen green can be kind of a spotty shooter Dylan Brooks uh has flashes where he hits a lot of Threes but isn’t always there Alin shenon is a pretty good mid-range shooter but I wouldn’t say his range has extended to three yet Jabari Smith good shooter but then you have guys off the bench like cam Whitmore who’s not not super efficient yet you have uh the Thompson twin as well amen who uh is not a good shooter to this point either so getting a good shooter in the back court alongside am men Thompson I think makes a ton of sense uh one of the best freshman Shooters we’ve seen in a while 52% from three I think was over 50% on catch and shoot opportunities as well was just really solid 15 12 points 5.1 rebounds and almost six assists does a little bit of everything gets a lot of steals as well for a player of his size is impressive and I think uh is a smooth fit in the backup back court alongside amen Thompson I think their starting unit is pretty much uh ironed in unless they decide to go for someone like maau then maybe they move Dylan Brooks or something like that but I think right now their starting lineup is probably going to be what it is uh with the potential for amen cam Whitmore and then maybe Reed to get in there over time but Reed Shepard uh good complimentary player who could get real minutes in Year One at number four we have the San Antonio Spurs now than taking small forward Zachary rache out of France definitely in discussion for the number one overall pick uh is going to be considered uh because of his athleticism his defensive ability and people believe he’s going to be a good shooter has taken a lot of Threes hasn’t made a lot over the past few months he started the year uh we were in about January and he was shooting nearly 50% from three it has since dropped below 40% it’s still not a bad number overall at about 39% but definitely had some shooting Wes from January through April had a game recently where he shot the ball pretty well uh but where you think R should go depends on how good of a shooter you think he can end up being uh gets a lot of comparisons to Michael Porter Jr who’s an elite shooter if you can get that level of shooter and Defender alongside Victor am minyama and the guys that the Spurs have then I really like it even if you don’t even if he’s just a solid Defender I think that’s solid it takes away less shots from wemi uh and maybe a replacement for Kell Johnson in the starting lineup we’ll see what happens there but 17 points per 36 6.2 rebounds uh nearly 59% true shooting the efficiency isn’t bad but the shooting again earlier this year was not all that impressive so we’ll see what he ends up being at the pro level I’m kind of I kind of have mixed feelings on what I think of him as a player I don’t really think he’s worthy of the number one pick but I think he’ll be in discussions for it uh but I have no problem with the Spurs taking him here at number four at number five I have the Detroit Pistons taking small for Dalton connect out of Tennessee this is the highest I’ve ever had him in any of my mocks and I’m not sure I see other people really have him this High either but the Pistons just need shooting man and there’s not a lot of shooting at this point Reed Shepard is already off the board so then you have connect and you kind of have Cody Williams Cody Williams shot about 42% from three this season but it was only on about one and a half a times per game the volume for Cody Williams is not really there he’s not really a proven shooter although it looks like he might be one uh connect did it on a lot more volume there is more proven shooting ability there and more scoring ability at 26 points per 36 uh one of the best players in the country this season in college and should be a better Pro right away because of a longer college career already 23 years old 6’7 really good athlete uh you don’t want to take a guard either because you already have Ivy and Cade uh Sasser is a good backup so you really want to wing and that put it between connect and Cody and to me I took connect I just think it makes a little bit more sense I can slide in at the three spot next to assar Thompson and I think can be a good piece for them moving forward and maybe be one of their better players right away I just think he’s going to be a better Pro than a lot of people seem to uh I think the scoring ability is just something you don’t really see the level of three level scoring ability that he has is pretty rare So to get him in here and let him go to work a little bit I think could be interesting uh we’ll see what happens with the coaching situation there’s a lot of turmoil in Detroit right now but I like the fit of connect around the guys that they already have at number six I have the Charlotte Hornets taking Stefan castle out of Yukon one of the best defensive guards I feel like has come into the draft in a long time Drew holiday s defensive player uh was clamps in the NCAA tournament and was a huge reason that they won the title this year uh him and Tristan Newton in the back court were locking people up holding people who are really good offensive players to really bad Knights again and again and Stefan Castle I think will bring that to the NBA level the question is his shooting ability just 26.5% from three this season at Yukon but has showed Some solid free throw shooting at points so maybe the shooting will be there but even if it’s not the defense will be there right away uh and I believe that that next to lamelo ball makes a lot of sense I’ll get him there with Brandon Miller who’s already a pretty solid Defender as as well I I like the idea of how he could fit into Charlotte and to me he’s easily the best player on the board at this point he would be in the discussion for the number one player in this class to me I think he’s definitely up there uh just because the defensive abilities off the charts and solid rebounder for a guard as well can pass a little bit I don’t think you’d really want him to be your lead guard which makes the fit in Charlotte a little better because you have lamelo Ball but if lamelo’s injured I think he could step up and place him point if that was required so uh I like it for a multitude of reasons and best player available is Stefan Castle so the Hornets get him here at six and I think they would be rejoicing if Castle is still available with the six overall pick at number seven I have the trail blers taking Matas buellis out of the g-league ignite program uh feels like a complimentary guy more than anything to me does a little bit of everything solid shot blocker at the wing spot they already have some pretty good guards in Anthony Simons Shaden sharp and obviously a lot invested into scoot Henderson so getting a wing I think is the clear move for the Blazers but because a lot of those guys already mentioned are scoring types I think a complimentary guy like buellis who’s a good Defender and can play off the ball I think makes more sense than someone like Ron Holland who’s a really good scorer so balis is the pick here for me at number seven at number eight we have the San Antonio Spurs This pick coming from the Raptors and I have them taking point guard NOA topic out of Serbia out of of the Adriatic League does have a partially torn ACL and I think that could hurt his draft stock we could see him slip a little bit but the talent is obviously there with topic the biggest concern now is injury issues and whether he can stay on the floor I did see a report today from werman that they are interested in Devin Carter another guard a guard out of Providence so maybe they go guard uh and they go carter at number eight instead of topic but I just think topic is clearly the best guard available right now uh and is kind of a natural score 19 points per 36 in the Adriatic league is really impressive 7 assists and 52% from the field was an efficient bucket getter not so much from three I believe he shot around 29% but the overall shooting is impressive good mid-range game finishes well at the rim and 66 solid size for a point guard as well I think would be a smooth fit next to Victor could be a good lob passer for Victor as well someone who could actually get him the ball it could be a long-term starting point guard for the Spurs uh you don’t see production like this overseas from Young Players very often uh you saw it from Luca donic I don’t think he’s going to be a Luca level player but I do think he has Allstar upside so getting him here at number eight I really like it for the Spurs people said last time that they should take uh Topic at eight and Reay at four which is I had the opposite last time I had toich at four and Reay at eight but but due to Topic’s uh injury concerns as well as a couple of good shooting games from ree it actually makes sense now to flip them and it would be more likely it would fall this way than what I initially had at number nine we have the Memphis Grizzlies I’ve been taking Center kalal we out of Indiana they traded Stephen Adams to the Houston Rockets uh at the trade deadline this year and jiren Jackson Jr still can’t really start at Center so they need a big man I think they’d be interested in trading up for Donovan kingan if that’s an option but he’s off the board so I have them taking kle Weare 20 years old uh was a sophomore at Indiana 7′ 1 230 lb just a big physical presence uh is not super like Burly but he can uh kind of post up if he needs to but has flashes of an outside game as well going to be more of a lob threat than a true postup but 42.2% from three I think getting as much spacing around John Moran as possible so he has more Lanes to the rim is something that makes a lot of sense uh but solid rebounder 11 rebounds per 36 and shot blocker as well you could allow Jaren Jackson Jr to roam and you could allow kalaw to get some rebounds that jiren Jackson just can’t so I think getting a center makes a ton of sense and kalaw is just the best center on the board here at number 10 I have the Utah Jazz taking tjan salawan out of France small forward really uh kind of a defensive presence right now the offense needs some work the efficiency is pretty bad both from the the field and from three uh but the Jazz have time they have the ability to kind of grow players and saloan more of a raw Prospect but with what the Jazz have right now I think that’s okay they have some good guards already Colin ston keante George they have a center and Walker kler larri Markin and obviously their franchise player at power forward so getting a Wing makes sense and one that can develop alongside the guys you already have I like that will hardy is a players coach can bring the most out of player so I like the idea of getting him in here we’ll see what Taylor Hendrick ends up being for them Bryce sensal as well maybe ends up being a contributing factor but I still think Wing is the place to go and uh based on what the West looks like right now I still don’t think the Jazz will likely be a playoff team next year so you have the ability to take a more raw Prospect and let them develop at number 11 the Chicago blls I have them taking Ron Holland forward out of the ignite program 18 years old 6 fo8 22 points per 36 7 and 1/2 rebounds 3 and 1/2 assists and uh 2 and 1/2 steals as well uh I don’t think he’s a great defensive player he does have some Flash plays but the scoring is going to be the thing for him didn’t shoot the ball this year didn’t shoot the ball well this year with the G League ignite but we’ll see what that ends up being at the pro level but the scoring ability is clearly there and can get to the rim pretty well we’ve seen a lot of ignite players who are good scorers end up being good scorers in the league even Jaden Hardy has been an impactful score Off the Bench for the Mavericks throughout this playoff run so Ron Holland I think could be a similar player for the Bulls especially if they move Patrick Williams which it looks like they might end up doing there are rumors that they’re looking to trade him demard de rozan is a free agent they might trade Zack LaVine as well so there might be a lot of scoring opportunity that opens up in Chicago and Ron Holland could make the most of that I like a couple of their guards in Kobe white and I dumo so guard doesn’t make as much sense but getting a wing who can score score I think is a solid move for Chicago at number 12 we have the Oklahoma City Thunder uh this pick coming from the rockets and I them taking the brother of one of their their star players in Cody Williams brother of Jaylen Williams who was the second best player on the team this year i’ price say chat homr you could argue was the second best but Jaylen Williams was very good and Cody is still on the board is probably a top seven to 8ish player in this draft class so if he’s still there I’d expect the Thunder to take him uh just because of the value and on top of that you know it’s Jaylen Williams brother so why would you not 15 points per 36 55% from the field and 42% from Deep again though more of a theoretical shooter uh because the volume just wasn’t there but if the Thunder see a potential shooter and lanky Defender they’re going to take them kasan Wallace Jaylen Williams Usman Jang even they wanted to take a chance on because of the defensive ability uh so I think Cody Williams would be a thunder pick here I do like Zack Edy to them I’ve mocked it a couple times but have them going Cody Williams here because he’s still on the board and number 13 the Sacramento Kings get kind of a steal here Rob Dillingham out of Kentucky 19 years old 6’3 really light at 165 lbs but the scoring and shooting is pretty rare Malik monk is a free agent this off season might get the bag from a team like Orlando uh or maybe even Detroit who knows but Malik monk I think will probably be gone so getting another bench scoring option uh would make a lot of sense and Rob Dillingham could do do just that really effective scorer this season for Kentucky and not a ton of minutes just about 20 minutes six assists one and a half steals efficient from the field and from Deep so getting him in there makes plenty of sense especially because their backup point guard right now Davon Mitchell uh hasn’t been a fantastic Pro the defense isn’t what it used to be and the offense still has never really developed so Dillingham could be a replacement for monk or if monk stays maybe he takes Mitchell’s back a point guard spot we’d see what end up happening there but Rob Dillingham is just easily the best player available at this point to me so you take him if you’re Sacramento cuz he Fells needs and he’s really talented at number 14 the Portland Trailblazers next pick coming from the Warriors out them taking Center Zack Edy out of Purdue Robert Williams seems to always be hurt they might end up trying to trade him anyway DeAndre Aon is probably their starting big man moving forward but why not get a backup big already got them a wing and buellis with their first pick so here they take a big man 7’5 Zack Ed out of Purdue 300 lb and just all the numbers are off the charts 28 points per 36 14 rebounds 62% from the field in two and a half blocks as well uh we’ll see if his play style can work in the NBA he’s more of a traditional big man than the modern spacing big type but DeAndre Aton can’t really shoot the ball either he’s not a three-point point shooter so in the same way that DeAndre Aton can’t really be the modern big man to a certain extent he can space to the free throw line but Zach Ed can’t really shoot threes either he’s trying to apparently he shot threes pretty well at the combine and in his workouts but we’ll see if that ends up translating to the NBA level because we haven’t really seen it from him before but he wants to be a NBA player and he wants to develop an NBA level game so he’s going to try that he’s going to come to Purdue not Purdue he’s he’ll come to Portland he’ll be the backup for Aon and provide a little different style than Aon because of the the hook game the rebounds the putbacks catching more lobs it’d be an interesting fit next to the guys they have and I just think he is a lottery level talent because the upside is off the charts it just depends on whether it can translate or not and number 15 I have the Miami Heat taking point guard Devin Carter out of Providence I’ve mocked this multiple times feels like a heat type player physical Defender gets steals gets up in people’s faces uh can space the floor a little bit the three-point shooting isn’t fantastic to this point but 47% from the field is really solid really good rebounder for a guard which is pretty common with heat guards as well 20 points per 36 I just feels like a guy who could be going off for them in the playoff series in typical Heat Fashion and I really like him he could end up being a lottery pick that wouldn’t shock me at all but if he’s here for Miami it feels like a perfect team play player fit and I think it’s almost a no-brainer that they end up taking Devin Carter at number 16 I have the 76ers taking jacobe Walter out of Baylor uh had a little poor second half of the year after starting really strong but I still think he has two-way upside as a Defender and a a uh kind of personal shot Creator I think he can create his own shot a little bit 16 points per 36 five rebounds I wouldn’t have to do a ton alongside Maxi and embiid we’ll see if UB is back they’re going to try to bring in Paul George but just getting a young guy who can score a little bit can space the floor here and there and play some solid defense I think is a solid pick for the Sixers their needs and just a guy you might want on a playoff team at number 17 the Lakers are keeping their pick this year the Pelicans decided to defer that swap until next season so they will uh select in this year’s draft and have them taking point guard Isaiah klier out of USC bronny James’s teammate actually at USC uh stays in the California area going from USC to the Lakers was I believe the number one player coming out of high school in this class uh so the Lakers are taking pedigree here and hoping that he becomes a better NBA player than he was a college player had some turnover issues at USC but the scoring was on display nearly 20 points per 36 five assists uh 49% from the field is really solid uh because he finished about at The Rim but 34% from three obviously needs some work the turnovers need some work but but a potential star point guard for the Lakers I think they would love the idea of it they would love giving it a shot and if it doesn’t work out you didn’t really expect to picking the teens for the Lakers to work out anyway Jaylen HUD chafino a perfect example of that last year hasn’t really shown much uh but Isaiah ker I think could be a really good NBA player I just think maybe in the college scheme it didn’t really work out he didn’t really have fantastic teammates either and the USC team wasn’t all that good so maybe he wasn’t all that interested we’ve seen high-profile High School guys come into the league and be much better than they were in college before and the Lakers would hope that it happens here again with klier at number 18 I have the magic taking point guard Jared McCain out of Duke the magic needs shooting probably more than any other team in the league at least any other competent team the Pistons need a lot of shooting but so do the magic that was the biggest problem in the playoffs they took the Cavs to seven I really thought they could have won that series but just those uh kind of slow periods of offensive luls where they just couldn’t hit anything were brutal to the Orlando Magic so getting a player like McCain who can really shoot the lights out can space next to the guys they have I think would be a perfect fit and make a ton of sense for Orlando unfortunately for them I think there’s a decent shot McCain’s already off the board but if he’s here this is a fantastic team fit it just really feels a need for the magic right away and number 19 the Raptors are picking here this pick coming from the Pacers I believe in the Pascal cakam trade and they have a lot of needs they have Scotty Barnes they have RJ they have quickley but outside of that there’s not a lot especially down the stretch we saw them playing a lot of unknown players Grady deck was a huge player for them at that point Javon Freeman Liberty was getting a ton of minutes a bunch of guys that people didn’t even remember their names were getting a ton of minutes so they just need upside they need potential and Tyler Smith is that to me out of the g-league knite a power forward 6’10 225 22 points per 36 really solid performer at the ignite level eight rebounds per 36 as well a block and a half 48% from the field and 36% from three project is a potential three and D guy with a little more scoring upside than that so the Raptors take a guy here who they think maybe can be a really good Pro and be better than people expected just a ton of upside at 19 years old coming out of the ignite program played really well against G League guys we’ll see if he can at the pro level but the Raptors need potential swings and they take one here at number 20 I have the Caps taking Tristan D Silva forward out of Colorado I think there’s a pretty solid chance they trade one of the bigs Jared Allen or Evan Mobley this summer it would probably be Jared Allen if for being realistic because of the pick that they used on Moy but if they do that they’re going to need another forward who can fit alongside them who can space to floor and that’s Tristan to Silva nearly 40% from Deep uh nearly 50% from the field 17 points per 36 5.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists was really solid for Colorado last season it just feels like a perfect complimentary role player in the NBA a lot of teams will be interested but I going to the Cavs here at 20 at 21 the New Orleans Pelicans are picking this one coming from the Bucks a swap actually might still be from that Drew holiday deal I think it actually is and now I’m going Center Don Holmes the second out of Dayton uh this is higher than I’ve had him before but he’s of my favorite BS in this draft class I just really like what he brings to the table there were a lot of discussions that Jonas Fen chunis might not come back this summer so getting a different big in there is the ideal pick and one that can space the floor gives zon some more room I like that 39% from three uh really good for a center 54% from the field 23 points per 36 good rebounder good shot blocker I think just provides a lot of upside uh is a little older at 21 years old I believe he played 3 years at Dayton but was a really important contributor every season that he was there and I think he’s going to be a good Pro I really like donon Holmes and I think he needs a little more love than he’s been getting at 22 this is probably the biggest shocker of this mock draft we have here I have the Phoenix Suns taking guard bronny James out of USC he’s reportedly turned down uh like workouts with all teams but two the Lakers and the Suns and reportedly the Suns workout went really well there’s also no no owner who’s more star hungry than Matt ishia has the worst case of new owner syndrome I’ve ever seen uh going in on KD that made sense but then doubling down and getting Bradley Beal which doesn’t look great that one’s kind of tough and now maybe he’ll try to lure LeBron James in to to fix what they already got uh by drafting his son wouldn’t shock me at all if that was a Matt ished move nine points for 36 five rebounds four assists uh 36.6% from the field not from three really struggled from the field at college but wasn’t a great fit a lot of people would tell you he was playing out of position which he probably was realistically could be more of a point guard at the NBA level and what do the Suns need more than anything they need a setup man they need a point guard and that could be bronny he reportedly shot really well at his workouts as well and he shot well at the combine played pretty well at scrimmages tested well athletically I do think he upped his stock I don’t think he’s a first round Talent based off Merit alone I I think he is a second round Talent uh because of how well the combine went and some flashes you saw here and there reminder he was dealing with uh having a cardiac arrest right before the season so there’s a good chance he was limited in what he thought he could do and wasn’t pushing as hard because of what he was concerned with there but has been cleared by NBA doctors to play at the pro level and I think with a year removed maybe we see a more aggressive version of him and on a team like Phoenix there wouldn’t be a lot of expectation I think there’s a lot of justifications for why this could be a solid pick I do think it’s a little bit of a reach but if you’re M isia why not take a shot here at number 22 at 23 I the Milwaukee Bucks this one coming from the Pelicans the swap I talked about uh youest Mei out of Baylor Brook Lopez getting really old as they’re starting center I don’t think he has a ton left in him probably another year or two so getting a center who could potentially take that over would be really solid not going to space the floor from three like Brook Lopez but is efficient at 61 1.2% 17 points 2 and 1/2 blocks and nearly nine rebounds I would rank him lower than Don Holmes if I was doing Center rankings but not by a ton I think Mei is going to be a solid Pro it’s probably more of a rim Runner a pick and roll lob threat more than anything not going to be a ton on the offensive end but should block some block some shots defensively maybe kind of a Clint capella type we’ll see what he ends up being but should be a a decent player at the pro level at 2 four at the Knicks taking Johnny Fury shooting guard out of Kansas uh this is an upside pick if you are New York they have two picks right here back to back so one of them you should probably take upside and he’s been one of the biggest risers throughout the process had a really good few weeks for Kansas I believe it was in February it might have been in January but was really really hot for a stretch there showcasing the athleticism some of the shooting 47% from the field is really solid 13 1 12 points per 36 really good athlete at 6’9 a little uh kind of scrawny at 190 lb but uh project is potentially a solid player because of the athleticism and some of the shooting ability that we’ve seen can get steals can get out on The Fast Break throw down some aggressive dunks and why not take upside here uh if you have two picks back to back I don’t think he’d get much play at all with Tom Tibido in year one but maybe you can develop and play him over time uh with the second pick though I them going point guard Tyler kak out of Marquette a experienced veteran lot of time in college feels like a guy that Tom Tibido would be willing to play right away so this is kind of the opposite here 6’3 195 lbs a potential backcourt mate Off the Bench for for dece McBride 16.7 points 8.4 rebounds and 5.4 8.4 assists my bad and 5.4 rebounds 38% from three just a really polished player feels like a a solid backup point guard kind of a trade Jones tus Jones type I think is what he’ll be at the pro level uh and a player that you really want to have off your bench at 26 we have the Wizards this one coming from the Clippers they took Donovan kingan with their first pick and this time I have them going kaon George shooting guard out of Miami a really big one at that 6’8 20 years old 210 lb a defense focused Wing that you can put alongside Jordan p in your back court would make a lot of sense uh not a super like high level score at this point but did shoot the ball well at 41% from three so play a little off ball play some really good defense and just muck everything up out there I think would be really cool I think makes a lot of sense next to the guys they already have like P and kozma uh even Denny abdia who I hope that they keep because he’s a really solid player but already going big with the first pick I think it makes sense to get a backcourt guy with pick number two at 27 I have the Minnesota Timberwolves taking shooting guard teren Shannon JR out of Illinois uh when I watch them it feels like their biggest Need is Another scoring option they have a lot of times where the scoring feels really tough uh jadeen McDaniels I have these off nights and then if nil Alexander Walker doesn’t have it going off the bench it can get really ugly so getting another score in there I think could be really beneficial even if he’s not a starter I think Shannon would come off the bench but could give you maybe a a quick eight points off the bench and that could be really helpful in certain stretches where it’s getting really dull you could also argue they need a bigger Defender because Luca was still kind of bullying Jaden McDaniels they need a thick power forward that they could play out there but I think they need scoring as well so they go Shannon who’s been one of the best scorers in the country for years 24 and a half points for 36 four rebounds two assists and 48% from the field I really like Shannon uh as a player really good score and I think he makes sense for what the Timberwolves need and number 28 out the Denver Nuggets going power forward Bobby Clinton out of the NBL uh with a player like yic who can raise the ability of others why not go for a raw talent like Clinton 6’10 210 pounds really good athlete spent one year at Wake Forest then uh left and played a year in the NBL instead which is an interesting choice I think he would have been drafted in the first round last year but still going in the first round here at number 28 and landing in a near perfect spot with the Denver Nuggets because I think yic would make him look even better than he is but as a really good athlete who can get to the rim I think he makes a ton of sense as a guy on a yic team at number 29 I have the Utah Jazz taking Center Kyle filipowski out of Duke initially early on I had him as a lottery pick but his time has went on I just really don’t like filipowski game uh whenever he goes against bigger physical opponents it feels like he gets bullied again and again and again Tennessee in his freshman season embarrassed him and it happened again in the tournament this year so I just I I can’t do it with filipowski but the numbers are there the Jazz need a backup center so why not just do it he’s probably the best center on the board at this point although I do like over chamchi out of the NBA Academy Africa I think is going to be a good player but I’ll take filipowski here 19 points per 36 9.8 rebounds two blocks 51% from the field isn’t great but he does try to stretch it and that brings down his field goal percentage a little bit so it’s somewhat understandable at 7 foot 230 lb he should be a physical presence but at this point he’s just not he needs to work on the physicality it of his game that’s a huge thing for him if he can get that going but should be a solid back of five and can work on his game again with Utah they have the ability to develop the guys that they select and at number 30 the last pick of the first round and the last pick of this mock draft out the Boston Celtics taking c not center point guard point guard Carlton Bob Carrington out of pit uh wasn’t really super on the radar heading into his freshman season then I believe he had a triple double in game one and was really good over the first month of the Season kind of cooled off a little bit after that there were some Lottery conversations early on because of how well he was playing but that died down 6’5 195 lbs it’s a solid size for a point guard and can put the ball in the basket with the Celtics why not take a backup guard who can make an impact they play Payton Pritchard a lot but getting another guard who can come in and score for you I don’t think that would hurt anything I I think this is kind of an embarrassment of riches if you’re Boston they have a ton of stuff going on for them right now there’s nothing that they really need Super badly maybe another Center you know Al Horford’s getting older but I think a lot of the first run centers are pretty much gone already so why not take the best player available in Bob Carrington I think could go first round obviously I think he could go in the teens I think is a place where you could see him go so if he’s here at 30 why not just take a shot on him and get a guy in your back court who can score a little bit and make a little bit of an impact uh but that’ll be it for this mock draft hopefully you enjoy let me know if you agreed with the picks if you disagreed what your thoughts were how excited you are for the mock for more mock draft sure but also for the draft in general because I love draft season I love summer league I love watching the guys get out there and play for the first time with their teams super exciting but the finals will be super exciting as well uh you know not a super close game one but got close for a little bit in the third quarter it seemed like maybe we’re going to have some drama but the Celtics did pull back away but the Mavs were blown out by the Thunder in game one of that Series so and they ended up winning that Series so they could come back nothing is locked in yet but we’ll see what happens with the finals but hopefully you enjoyed the video think about subscribing I’m the road to 14,000 subscribers so if you like it think about sticking around I talk about the WNBA a lot too been talking about kayln Clark and the start of her journey there but let me know your thoughts hopefully you enjoy and think about watching some more but that’s it for me have a good one peace

The NBA Finals are here, and that means that the NBA Draft is only a couple of weeks away now. 28 teams are already home and pondering what they’ll do with their picks and then free agency. It seems as if the Hawks are down to two players with the number one selection, Alexandre Sarr or Zaccharie Risacher and they’re drastically different players. I’d lean Sarr, but who knows what Atlanta is thinking. The Wizards are likely between the two UConn players in Donovan Clingan and Stephon Castle at the top. The Rockets could trade out of the three spot or stick and pick a guy like Reed Sheppard. Then you have the Spurs with two key picks in numbers 4 and 8. There is a lot more uncertainty at the top than usual and that should make it very interesting. The landing spot of Bronny James, the son of legend LeBron James will also be something to watch and I have him slipping into the first round here. Let me know your thoughts!!!

Think about subbing, I’m on the road to 14k!!!

  1. Bro what are you talking about DeAndre ayton has 1 of the best mid range jumpers in the league. And how are all your measurements so off after the combine. Not trying to be a dick but Doesn't seem like you did much studying before this.

  2. I like your top 4. It makes sense. The farther you go in this draft the harder it gets. Good job. Topic's injury helps to clear up the top 5 a little bit.
I am a Rockets fan and hope that Reed is the guy they get. Great fit for them.
I Also think that ATL and WAS will go big. ATL needs to replace their C…with one who can anchor the paint and protect the rim. WAS need to build around a defensive C, who can also do some scoring. Reed could fall into the Rockets' lap. Do you think Reed would go higher than #3?

  3. im so happy to see you mock clingan at number 2 it feels like not many people are doing it and i started to lose confidence of clingan at 2 on my mock.

  4. Think it’s funny Lebron is about to be drafted for the second time cause nobody truly believes bronny is getting drafted on his own merits, even the Lebron fangirls know deep down it’s only a pity draft to appease daddy. 🤣
