Ant and stamina

Interesting article. These grafs were illuminating

“Austin Rivers couldn’t believe what he was watching.
Dallas reserve guard Jaden Hardy had the ball at the top of the floor in the final 10 seconds of the third quarter of Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals. Hardy was being guarded by Kyle Anderson.
And Dallas ran a ball screen to get Anthony Edwards switched onto Hardy.”

If NAW could stay on the floor and hit some more shots this would be less of a problem. Hopefully if we replace Kyle with another wing they’re able to hold their own too.

Ants got football player stamina. Built for quick bursts

  3. This was the longest season of Ant’s career so far. Now he knows what to expect. He’s the last person I’m worried about in terms of training going forward.

I don’t think it was a Stamina issue. Ant is in an amazing shape played big minutes all season. I think the issue was that he had to spend way too much energy on the offensive end against Dallas’ elite defense. He would sometimes try to drive multiple times on a single offensive possession. In contrast Boston/Dallas are just able to get better shots without working as hard. Part of it was Kat’s fault for struggling, part of it is coaching, and part of it is on Ant to improve his offensive bbIQ.

A part of it is stamina sure, but Luka could hide on defense and take turns with Kyrie. Also his offensive style doesn’t require as much burst as Ant’s does.

We needed someone else to be able to take off some of the burden, or Ant needs to develop a level of playmaking that allows him to play slower or change places on offense.

Playoff basketball is more intense and more draining and Ant wasn’t ready. He’s 22 and now knows what to expect he’ll be fine.
