TIM LEGLER TOUCHSCREEN ๐Ÿ‘ Breaking down how the Celtics OUTSMARTED the Mavs ๐Ÿ‘€ | SC with SVP

it’s the sixth time that the Mavericks have trailed a series 2 nothing over the last decade and a half if history is an indicator they’re fine they’ve won four of the previous five and have three Series wins all time when down two games to none which is tied for the most in NBA history now I was giving white the credit for the block all the time Brown definitely got it as well Jason kid wants to know was there a foul on that all right questions for Coach we’ll start here with Mike in the front Mike Curtis Dallas Morning News Jason what was your interpretation of the fast break with PJ that led to the block by Derek white there at the end my interpretation um it looked like a foul but it wasn’t called so it wasn’t a foul that’s a that’s a pretty black and white assessment of things they didn’t call it so it wasn’t a foul I kept saying in the Highlight over and over again I thought it was clean cuz I was looking at the ball right was there was there a hand oh yeah another question there was a hand in right into his back that if if that was a type of play that had been able to be reviewed at that time that’s going to be called a foul because there was absolute contact on the part of Jaylen brown right in the middle of PJ Washington’s back prior to going up and blocking it and you really didn’t see it until they showed the uh the slow motion replay from a different angle when you could really see that hand get into his back okay well then I that’s on me I I’m giving all the credit for the clean block up top but that that left hand you certain you certainly see that there as far as the the the issues that Dallas has had in totality if there’s been a consistent issue that they faced in these two games what do you got for us can’t keep the ball in front of them and when they get broken down off the dribble I just think they go intoa chaotic mode on the weak side they’re not really disciplined in their rotations here’s an example of what I’m talking about and we’ve seen this quite a bit and actually the initial again the initial defense by luk isn’t bad you’re trying to keep the ball to the middle does a pretty good job of cutting jayen Brown off but when he spins out and gets down in here that’s when you’re going to start to have some problems now on the weak side with these three guys you get into the paint stop right here take a look at Josh Green I I don’t know when you should ever be on the weak side of the floor and just completely turn your back to the two players that are on that side because he has first pass you’re on that side of the Court there are two players over there you’re going to have to take first pass wherever it comes out and you’re going to see a second what’s going to happen he goes but so does PJ Washington he’s also going to go on this kickout so it’s an undisciplined rotation all caused by getting broken down off the dribble so when both guys go there’s one more swing great read here by Tatum he sees Lucas coming out really hard and high so here’s another undisciplined play Scott you put it back down here for Tatum if you’re Kyrie Irving you can’t come off the strong side corner it’s not your responsibility to stop this penetration you’ve got to stay with the shooter that’s why you you got a shot Blocker on the floor he’s coming and then you’ll get a sink down here that’s what the rotation should look like instead you’re going to see Kyrie he sells out to the drive and you end up with a wide open three and this Len bosta didn’t shoot well for the three so you give them a wide open look in that situation just can’t do it one more example here you get the switch and again surprise again beaten off the dribble so now you’re going to get rotation on the weak side look at the weak side Defenders both again staring at the ball they’re not really in tune with who’s on the weak side of the floor they do a decent job on the first two Closeouts the problem is against Boston you’re probably going to need a third and you can see Daniel gafford’s relaxing right here he needs to be in dead Sprint now before that basketball gets passed it comes to Tatum here his first made three at a game only made three at a game right there out of Jason Tatum two clean looks now one other thing about those two possessions none of Dallas’s possessions look like that where it’s in the paint out around the horn somebody toes up a wide open look it feels feels like every pass that Luca makes is deeper into the clock or it’s a pass cuz he’s gotten two guys he’s expecting that shot to happen right now off one pass so someone’s either going to take a three or they’re goingon to he’s going to hit a big guy rolling to the rim Boston even though they didn’t shoot well tonight they’re still making the pass that’s supposed to be made to the next guy and trusting it it always gets back to your point about the balance and the trust of the number of guys that can shoot on this team and score that that’s a typical Boston possession what I’ve seen through two games Dallas has very few Poss possessions that look that way well and the luxury of the depth of scoring options that Boston’s got just shows itself again and it has all year [Music] [Applause] [Music] long is

  1. Kyrie is spacinh out in the flat earth multiverse. In flat earth, 6.k alpha nuttyatara he scored 70, had 19 rebounds, and 27 assists.

  2. Nba rigged it for Boston i feel sorry for the ratings of this championship series i bet it sucks bad worse than Disney's plus ratings.

  3. Luka having 8 turnovers leading to transition scoring for Boston due to Dallas unable to get back on defense was the difference in this game.

He is also getting cooked on defense of which I though he improved dramatically during the OKC and Wolves series. Luka regressed back to early season slow feet unable to stop the guy he is guarding getting past him on the dribble.

Also, why is Jason Kidd not playing Dwight Powell and Tim Hardaway instead of Maximilian Kleber who in two games havenโ€™t made a shot attempt and looks like a fish out of water on defense.

Powell and Tim Hardaway has good chemistry with Luka so I donโ€™t understand why Kidd doesnโ€™t have them in the game when he chooses to run the offense through Luka. Lastly if Jalen Green and Maximilian Kleber are not making shots why not play Markieff Morris who is a certified bucket instant offense.

Move P.J Washington to center have Markieff Morris at PF, Derrick Jones Jr at forward Kyrie Irving at shooting guard and Luka at point gives Dallas four good shooters on offense which would prevent Boston clogging up the paint when lively and Gafford is on the court.

Watching game 2 when Dallas kicks the ball out to a teammate wide open at the three point line the Celtics donโ€™t even bother making an attempt at closing out the shooter. Boston is not letting Dallas get into the pain, Jason Kidd need to put more experience shooters to help Luka and Kyrie.

The Celtics is my team but I want to watch a competitive game, itโ€™s like taking candy from a baby how poorly Dallas is shooting from mid range and long distance

  4. C'mon, Legs just say it, just repeat after me: Boston is busy the better team.

    See, was that so hard?

  6. I wonder if we had a team without a white star, if Legler would be bothered to be on TV.

  7. I have a suspicion all the silly Americans want a hero ball Great Man of History type player, but the Celtics are actually playing a team sport how it is meant to be played.
I hope Tatum laughs all the way to the bank while the pundits and critics go red in the face complaining about whom the real "star" or "leader of the team" is.

The Nuggets showed it last season, the Celtics are showing it this season.
Welcome to Moneyball, adapt or die.

  8. Donโ€™t drive home drunk Kidd we know you๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคกhe really though those mind games wouldโ€™ve made a difference

  9. Celtics is determined to win while mavs don't have aggressiveness. Luka's dream of winning the finals is over. Poor luka. He is the best player of them all.

  10. Dallas shot 66 percent from the free throw line that was game they couldnโ€™t even make there freebies and legs went with the best player in this series when he made heโ€™s pick in this series but itโ€™s clearly about who has the best starting 5 Tatum can play below avg and Celtics still win this series thanks to brad Stevenโ€™s

  11. SVP needs to stick to his script and to doing interviews. His analytical skills leave much to be desired..

  12. 14 DOWN 2 TO GO HATERS ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ’ฏ๐Ÿป

  13. I love Legler as an analyst but him picking the Mavs to win this series – contrary to common sense – is making him look foolish right now.

  14. Jason Kidd can't coach. He is there based of of the Talent and leadership of Kyrie and Luka. He's defeated after game 1 his team knows it. 2nd loss is just demoralizing. Tatum is yet to score 30. He will come alive at the right time. Dallas dont have enough

  15. 0-2 comebacks in playoffs is like 7.2% and in the finals happened like 4 times ever I believe. Not happening.

  16. Man that soft light a** touch behind PJ's back, stop it Legler. He definitely flopped, because he felt Brown's hand on his back. Brown didn't even give, nowhere near any force, to push PJ. Glad it didn't get called, to much flopping and not physicalness on defense.

  17. They were getting torched the entire game either way, one "foul" wouldn't changed anything if at all if was a foul which it wasn't. The Mavs couldn't come close to even having a lead! What is it, the rules have gotten so watered down these days the NBA are going to be calling fouls for even breathing in the coming seasons just so Euro players can finally thrive in the league. The fact that even at slowmotion you could barely see it shows how much of an impact that "foul" had on him. If the contact didn't throw you or the ball off balance before it leaves your hands, it's shouldn't be a foul.

  18. The refs let dallas rough up tatum and brown the whole game. They had just given 2 cheap foul calls to pj right before the white block, which led to 4 points and cut the lead to 5. The refs helped them all they could. Plus JB bearly touched him. It just looks bad in slow motion
