that sort of in granular order number one then number two so that should be available in your podcast feed of choice right now if you find this podcast on accident first that’s definitely okay but start with part one if you want to and here we go with part two no more delays we’ll dive back in right now I want to go back to SAR who you mentioned earlier being number two on your board I uh every time I do a podcast like this I didn’t say this to you beforehand but um or comment at all basically um I would say since the day of the lottery and not making a value judgment about this but I think a lot of hawks fans probably saw that he was the number one guy on a lot of boards that day and now it’s now it becomes oh this is an Easy Choice it’s alexar or they’ve maybe seen highlights or whatever and I’m not telling them that they’re even wrong like I had I I said the day of the of the lottery if the if the draft happened today I would probably take probably not definitely take alexar but I’m watching more and more of him uh I don’t know if everybody is but every time I do something like probably I would say more than half responses are like oh this isn’t a decision just take alexar uh obviously you don’t believe that because you have somebody ahead of him but you have number two which means you like him a lot uh what is what is the appeal we’ll kind of do the same thing here what is the appeal of alexar and then also what is a little bit scary because I I have I have some thoughts on this one honestly I’ve probably been watching him maybe the most of anyone since the lottery just because he’s the guy that comes up the most and he was even then I think still now the guy who is the highest consensus on boards so I think he’s not going to fall if the Hawks won take him he he has getting he’s getting past like number three overall I don’t think on the board so he’s he’s going to go fast yeah I would agree with that uh yeah I mean I like saw I think I had him one coming into this class based on I watched you know maybe like 10 or 15 guys I tried to before the year starts uh I liked him uh I thought that he uh really Pro the the real Intrigue for me with him is how versatile he is defensively I think that uh he is someone that can protect the rim but I also really do buy the and This this term I feel like it’s way over utilized and thrown around but I do think he is a switchable big who somebody who can you could feel comfortable out on the perimeter he’s really good at timing his help defense uh and because of that he’s a really high level playmaker defensively um he he knows exactly when to time running up to help with guys and run a time to get himself back to his own man um good at meeting guys at the rim I just think he offers a lot and a lot of it comes from off ball defense because he reads the game really well when he’s the one that is is able to sit back and take it all in as it’s happening so I I quite like that about his game offensively I think I’m a little bit more skeptical than some people I don’t love the touch I don’t really buy the shot long term um and I don’t think he necessarily has to be a shooter to to be a number one pick in this class or to be a really good player um but obviously you know it adds another layer of intrigue when you can do that so I I don’t necessarily buy that with him I do think he’s a pretty good passer in the short role I do think he’s a decent finisher um I think the rebounding stuff’s a bit overblown with him I think he’s he’s super athletic seven-footer I think he’ll be fined as a rebounder um but the the the biggest thing for me I guess is the scoring I just I I think he’s limited to being mostly a play finisher at The Rim rather than anything else offensively and and that’s probably the biggest concern I have with him yeah there’s this whole talking point and I’ve done it too and I’ll probably keep doing it about whether he’s a center or not and that’s it’s that’s too simplistic but it’s part of that’s on offense too like you know that’s one of the questions is can he anchor a defense as the center and that that’s a reasonable question um but offensively I find I’m worried about this offensive Mor defense like you um and also does he to be a center like that’s a very broad question but he doesn’t play Like A Center on offense if you watch him for full games occasionally he’ll make a pop player but but he he definitely likes to have the ball in the perimeter he doesn’t he’s he’s not a great screener right now he’s not a role man right now and yeah he’s got his the physical tools are incredible like the seven foot you know he should have he should have catch radius and all his hands are not great right now he doesn’t really have the dark arts down which is I’ve I’ve said most guys his age don’t so that’s not a concern necessarily but he doesn’t have it yet about especially when playing Center and like I feel like he plays like a wing on offense right now and again maybe that’s role maybe that’s that he played you know he’s had a weird path you know ot to NBL as a role player like it’s not the normal path that we’re kind of used to evaluating these guys on but I’m worry’s too strong that I am way more concerned about the offense than the defense it’s it’s not particularly close and need look defensively it’s not perfect either I think I agree with you by the way about the the actual switchable big he’s actually really really impressive on an island against guard sometimes he’s got great tools there the concern there is like if he is a center on defense is he gonna be able to be the only guy back there like that which we he’s not really been asked to do that a lot so that’s we kind of don’t know because he hasn’t been asked to do that a ton so yeah I’m rambling but it’s a really I feel this this class is litered with these tough evaluations part of that that maybe I know I’m still trained to watch more college basketball and most of these guys are not playing college basketball and uh you know nbl’s we situation for him like I don’t think you anybody would have said uh what’s the best way to evaluate alexar oh we’re going to have him be a 20-minute game play on the NBL like that would have been a not a good way to evaluate him generally speaking so I don’t even know where my point was going but it’s one of those things where it’s a tough EV out even if like the flash if you watch the right set of flashes and the right set of highlights it’s like all right number one pick lock it up and then if you watch more it’s I’m not it’s not I’m getting lower on him it’s just more that I’m seeing the potential warts and maybe why he isn’t even while he’s high he’s high for everybody he’s not the the guy for a lot of people by himself anyway because of kind of these little um un I’ll call it uncertainties yeah I think that’s that’s totally a fair uh way to frame it because uh yeah the the offense is is my biggest concern I I do think that the OT setting he played more as a rim Runner finisher than he did in the NV because uh number one he’s he’s going against guys that are just much smaller kind he kind of had to just he was clearly playing Center playing Center yeah um and in the NBL he was most of his minutes and you as he stated he’s he’s playing limited minutes as a 20 minute and night guy a lot of those were coming off the bench and a lot of that was playing next to like their starting center he’s uh the role he was and I think sort somewhat forced him to be more of a perimeter guy than he he probably should have been um relative to where his skills are currently uh but I think that uh part of it is that he’s uh you know maybe a little bit more uh interested in in being a floor spacer um than than being a a rim Fisher and it does leave you with this sort of uh quandry of what what do I do with him on the court if he’s somebody that is more of an offense five but also is you know not necessarily capable of being a full-time room protector at this point in time I think he can get there personally uh in due time I don’t think he’ll be there year one maybe even year two uh but anything think can doe time I he can be that sort of Soul room protector um but I do think it’s going to take time and in that meantime you’re you’re sort of um you know have these question marks keep your ride or die alive right now at ebaymotors.com one more time the place to go is ebaymotors.com eBay guaranteed fit is only available to us customers eligible it only exclusions apply I will try out of framing on you about alexar we’ll move on to somebody else in a second um I talked about this a lot with people online and offline I don’t believe you can take Alex star number one overall if you don’t think he can play center Long Term and I’m not saying that he has to only be a center that’s kind of the that’s what I would that’s the line I would draw is like if he can’t play some Center you can’t take him I don’t think May and maybe there’s a world where he become I don’t want even used the people want to throw out Giannis no let’s not do that but maybe there’s a world where his his perimeter skills really do explode right that’s not a Zer percentile outcome but I feel like the combination of his tools that we’ve seen it’s a it’s a hard sell for me if you don’t if you think he’s a full-time for um just because of the offensive limitations that I think he might have if you’re you know more a more coherent comparison maybe someone like Evan Moy right who we talked about before that’s a a comp I I don’t love comps in general but that’s why I totally understand why that’s out there it makes a lot of sense to me especially with Moy has been playing next to the center a lot early in his career I think eventually they’re going to move on from Jared and it’s going to be EV Mo at Center and I think that might be a similar thing that happens to alexar wherever he may go I think if the Hawks drafted alexar he would not suddenly be starting at Center as a rookie that wouldn’t work to as far as like a win now decision he wouldn’t be able to do it very well and number two you know his progression won’t allow that so but anyway is that a reasonable thing because I I feel like that’s where I am it’s like you you have to kind of believe that maybe in three years but eventually he needs to be a center waste some of the time no I I agree with that uh especially for people that don’t like myself who who who are a little bit lower on the shooting projection long term like if you think can be more of a floor spacer I think being a for full-time four is is well within sort of the uh that I’m fine taking them number one if you if you really buy that but well that yeah kind of built in not not to cut you off I feel like I I maybe I memory hold because you I heard you say that I think I based on what you said you can correct I’m probably a little higher on his shooting potential than you are but I think it’s hard to be sold on it like I think it’s more of like maybe his highend outcomes become a really good shooter but like in the touch is okay I think he’s he’s shown some touch it’s not like he’s a non-shooter right now which is encouraging but he shot I think 29% from three on not a huge sample size um so it is what it is but I I don’t think that you can be like definitely a great shooter with alexar what we know right now that’s kind of where I am no I I I would agree with that too and I think that in with we we talked about fit a little bit in Atlanta in particular it’s difficult if he’s not going to be your your starting fight which I don’t think he would be either um he’s also not going to be you know get starting four minutes because we have Jaylen Johnson who’s exploded there so that is one of the questions by the way I’m sure not surprised by this but like I I got a lot of questions about can he play with Jaylen and a center and and I’m not saying no to that but what what I have said is I could see that being a wrinkle not a full-time thing and maybe maybe ex like you said before maybe it’s that he becomes a really good shooter or maybe if you have a perfect Center like if you have a if you find that unicorn Center that can bomb threes like maybe that would work and suddenly you’re terrifying because you’re huge you know what I mean if Jaylen Johnson’s playing the three and you’re so I get that I get the appeal of that intriguing but offensively I think it’s gonna be hard for that to work as a permanent full-time look I I agree and defensively I mean I I don’t have that many concerns about it because a kongu sar Jaylen like they all can hold their own for spurts on the perimeter at least and they’re all solid interior Defenders uh the biggest thing is is the spacing in today’s NBA I the way I’ve always viewed it is uh or the way I currently view it I should say is if you have more than two non-f floor spacers that’s that’s really going to you know hurt the hurt the floor spacing for the Hawks and uh I don’t know how much you buy like jaylen’s long-term shooting potential I think that it’s pretty solid but I think you have to be a bit more versatile if you’re going to play three bigs in in the way that they shoot and get their threes if they’re all shooting spot up threes uh the floor spacing is better obviously but there’s there’s less ways to work with what you have um when guys are only able to take open spot up so it gets a little dicey along term when you talk about the the offensive fit with that Trio I agree um and yeah honestly you like Alex R he’s number two for you like you said before uh I do want to get some other guys um let’s just do kingan now real fast um so Donovan kingan is the other this the third player who has been reportedly in consideration for the Hawks I feel like there is a a split of some sort on G cling I feel like everybody kind of agrees he’s going to be a pretty good NBA player like I feel like I haven’t always seen the the cling is going to be bad take from anybody that I trust it’s more like not necessarily positional but it’s more like archetypal uh this this guy like worthy number one pick stuff and also maybe a ceiling offensively I’ve heard some conditioning stuff about cing he’s not played a ton of minutes all that stuff uh where do you have him and would he be anywhere near the same mix because I feel like even people that like him or kind of like no he’s he’s more of like the second third tier kind of guy and I get kind of both sides that but I thought I feel like there is a little of momentum out there both in the fan base and also you know it’s been reported that quiner likes him for instance which I’m not surprised by because he would be really good defensively and if you have a bad defense adding Don clink would be pretty appetizing with that yeah uh I have him eighth on my board right now so not not quite that not very top tier status but but higher the ree I noticed that when you said that a little bit higher a little bit higher and I think it’s more because I’m a little just more confident in kingan being a starting center now there’s levels to being a starting center is that’s the big distinction to make here that’s actually a great way to put it because I I feel like that’s a great point I feel like everyone believes it’s going to be like a pretty good starting center but there’s like the Aisa zubach starting center who’s like a good player I want to be very clear very good player but if that’s what he becomes No One’s Gonna be thrilled about that at number one overall does that Mak sense so like there’s that and there’s like the tier or two above that where you start getting into like lofty that comparison I won’t use like the guy who plays for the Wolves exactly yeah so uh that that it’s a distinction I think that’s worth making and and people uh I think I tend to think that Yukon is the best possible context that kingan could have been in and I think that that fuels a lot of the top one or oh even top three type type status uh I think if in different contexts he might not be viewed to that same regard again I I still like King and I think he’s going to be a good NBA player but number one pick status to me is a little difficult because I don’t see him being this this game altering defensive unit uh that that people I think some people see um I think he’ll be a good Defender I think that Yukon allows him to be somebody that can really time his shot blocking perfectly really nail down that that scheme um and I think that offensively he’s a bit more limited than you would want out of a number one pick I’m not super into the shooting so when you when you don’t factor that shooting in it becomes he he’s really becomes a post scorer like exclusively uh because I don’t really buy the face up stuff I think he really is a post scorer and that starts to take away a little bit from what he can do as a passer if you’re operating from the high mid-range I think he’s a good passer I want to make that clear I do think he’s a good passer but I think you’re limited at the passes that you can access and make when you’re not able to space the floor to the extent that some people may see with him so I think that you’re also left with some Hawks questions um where how does he fit when he’s another in my opinion like more of a non-s spacer alongside a kongu or alongside jayen who is also to me not like a a fantastic lob threat um next to Trey I think you start running into more questions than you would like for somebody at number one pick today show is brought to you by LinkedIn jobs and when you’re using LinkedIn jobs for hiring purposes right now you can post your job for free by going to linkedin.com lockon MBA one more time that is linkedin.com loton MBA teration Supply I want to drill down on the on the defense actually that you brought up there because I feel like offensively there’s there’s a split there too but defensively if you view him as the gamechanging Defender I get it at number one even in in this class especially I would say if you think that he really is going to be an all defensive level player that is a worthy selection at this at this pick so if you don’t think that and you don’t you’re not quite there it seems like that’s that’s that’s kind of where one of the splits is uh again really good Defender I feel like that’s that’s almost unanimous it’s just where where that level is and then offensively I almost want to I have I keep thinking he’s just not going to shoot I’m going to operate that way until I see otherwise like I know there was some shooting in high school there’s been some uh some film with him shooting in an empty gym kind of stuff but he’s at 55% or something like that free throw shooter at the college level for over two years like I’m not saying he can’t shoot I just wouldn’t Bank on that as an option if it’s it’s more of a bonus for me um but yeah the post scoring is interesting I do like the passing which you note but how much does that matter is a good way to calibrate that and in Atlanta you know there’s been lots of talk about you know his fit with Trey in particular and I am on the side just so you know of the hawk should keep Trey and once Trey wants out I would keep him that pairing is interesting because Trey is always you know Trey really utilizes his pick and roll game with his Center that’s one of the reason they brought capella in the first place because capella had all his reps with Harden and it worked out really well for a long time Capella’s not the favorite player of people around here anymore of fans anyway but he did he did wonders for Trey in a lot of ways right C what do you think of his pick and roll ability like as a as as a dive man obviously he’s huge and so there’s that’s helpful but like is he going to be an impactful you know lob threat Rim finisher or is it really more going to be postup stuff because the Hawks don’t take don’t tend to do a ton of post-up stuff with Quinn maybe that’s Personnel based I’ll admit that they haven’t had the post-up guy but um I think Quinn would like the passing I don’t know if Quinn would like the postup being a main part of what he wants to do no yeah uh and I I I would agree with you in terms of the shooting too I might have made it sound a little better a little nicer than I I view it but I don’t really see him as a shooter either um and yeah I I I think that uh defensively or excuse me offensively as a roller um when you look at who the Hawks have had Personnel wise it’s always been very quick and and quick both in terms of how quick they get out of the RO and how quick they get off the ground um those are two things like I mean John Collins did it uh obviously capella Jaylen Johnson’s capable of that now like those are all guys that are are I would consider like Twitchy athletes right who are are are quick in what they do in in that rolling action kingan is not that he he he is not somebody that is rolling super quickly after setting a screen he’s he’s setting good angles on screens he’s setting tough screens he’s not somebody that’s going to be actively rolling super hard diving to the rim after that uh he’s also not somebody that’s a very quick leaper off of his feet both one or two feet uh he especially when you’re comparing him to guys that I just mentioned so um I think that that somewhat limits him as a lob threat in the hawk system uh I also think that it’s it it is something that we talked about on I don’t mean to plug this but like we did talk about it on upside swings and it it definitely made me even think about it more after that episode where I’m thinking what what is he if he is not able to be even a roller as a play finisher if if he has to be this sort of uh you know cleanup guy offensively and and postup Guy uh does somewhat limit the situations that he could he could extrapolate that Top Value out of um and I don’t think the Hawks necessarily are built to offer that currently for him yeah I mean the lower end outcomes like we just talked about I think he’s starting center but the lower R outcomes are like if he’s only a good Defender and he’s not an impactful you know game-breaking offensive player which I don’t think he’s gonna be that anyway but if he’s like if he hits his median as a Defender and is not just it’s just okay offensively doesn’t want do anything dynamically or than maybe pass that’s still a starter but it’s not someone that’s going to be like a $30 million year player I don’t think so that’s the fear and look the size helps so that’s the one thing he does have that the Hawks have not had in this entire era is like he’s legitimately massive as much as capella plays like a big Center he’s not a big Center anymore like one point he was known for his speed now he’s kind of doing the craft and g stuff but you you got a Kong wo even when they had like Damen Jones I guess they had Alex Len at one point Who’s like similar size but cling is a lot bigger um like Mass wise so like they haven’t had a monster like that and you look Quinn had Rudy and that’s everyone if the Hawks drafts not and kingan everyone will in the world will write the Quinn Snider got got his Rudy goar in Atlanta that’s that’s going to be written and I’m not saying it’s crazy because it’s not but they’re different either even even they are different players like that’s the logical comp defensively for what the highend of Donovan clay can be they’re different players but like Rudy’s the best defensive Center in the league that is what people would hope cing would be if you’re drafting him number one overall so like that parallel is obvious but even Rudy as an offensive player Rudy is a fast I think he’s faster in a line than Donan King he’s a better lob finisher than Donan King like there’s different King’s got more passing I’ll give him that he’s he’s more physical but um even that pretty logical comparison kind of falls apart on offense if you don’t like take one little scrutiny look at it and I I I think too you when you’re comparing him to somebody like SAR like you you are now limited to me kingan is like a drop exclusive big defensively he he has to be in drop or else he’s going to struggle and I think that that’s maybe part of the reason I don’t view him at the same level of Defender as somebody like SAR who can do more and uh when look I’m not one of these people that that thinks Rudy is not like this fantastic great Center yeah but I think you are lying to yourself if you don’t see that in the playoffs there’s some complications that come along the way if you’re a drop exclusive team and if you’re if you’re taking a player like that at number one you just have to be aware of the fact that you know you’re you’re spending a number one pick on somebody who who may struggle uh to get substantial minutes in a playoff setting against some matchups and I think that’s something to consider as well yeah I don’t mean to drop this at the end of at the end of an hourong discussion because I’ll come back to it later on but uh I personally think and I’ll say this again later uh drafting Donan kingan you better be darn sure Trey young is in it for the long haul that’s my opinion for a number of reasons offensively that like offensively I think he would unlock but defensively one of the one of the appeals of having someone like Donan clinging would be that you can Trey can’t switch so like you’re you’re in some you’re kind of limited already in what you can do he’s a smaller guy and you know there’s always been this um dream at one point they were actually tied to Rudy about pairing Trey with Rudy for a similar reason like yes Rudy’s Limited in like that one way but so is Trey so like you already can’t switch so why don’t you get the best drop Defender that you could possibly get behind them that’s some of the appeal I think of kinging like if you knew if you have this conversation with Trey young it’s like hey all right Trey you’re our guy we’re not we’re not messing with it anymore how about I give you the S3 guy behind you who can CLE clean up your messes there’s some appeal to that but man if they did if they did the draft kinging and then also trade Trey or like not be sure what they’re gonna do that would be weird for me I I don’t like kinging and even kinging Deon I don’t like particularly much as a pairing as much as TR and yeah you’re you’re you’re locking yourself into something and I’m somebody that is when you talk about team building I like to have the most amount of flexibility possible because you never know what ways things might go down the road um and and to say that Trey Trey is taken a m in my opinion I watched it like maybe 20 Hawks games this year I thought he took a huge step forward defensively yep he’s still not a versatile Defender no he’s he’s still very limited but he has gotten better yes yeah so I I I would agree with you there that you you somewhat start to box yourself into to what you do defensively yeah um okay well I’m not leaving a ton of time to this but I I do want to get to like guys you really like and it could be guys in the lottery this is we don’t have to go we go away from the hawk unless you have somebody else that you want to M for the Hawks feel free if you want to do that but I do want to get like who you love in this class obviously Ron Holland is at the top of the list we talked about the beginning of this but uh however you want to view it sleepers or just guys you know you’re higher on or uh the floor is open for guys you want to bring up because I’m trying to give everybody this opportunity to Cate for their guys that they like it this class yeah everyone has them uh I’ll uh I have I have three guys I’ll mention and just to let you know too I’m on Central time so I have I think an extra hour but I’m not going to obviously use that extra hour but just so you know that we’re I’m not in a massive rush to get out of here um I’ll start with ker I think that’s somebody that I have third on my board I think some people have started to come around on that some people I think still have them in the 10 to20 range um I think he’s just an absolute automatic paint touch and I tend to view those guys very highly especially when you’re talking about guards um I I don’t really love the shooting long term and that might sound odd having him top three but I do think that he’s somebody that can be a defensive playmaker uh and I I I actually even though I don’t buy the shooting long term I do buy the Craft and touch around the rim which is not something you you you tend to buy one if you buy one you buy the other a lot of times um but not for me with with Kier but I do think that he’s a fantastic passer and you combine the fact that he can suck in defenses at will and he’s really in his biggest strength is passing out of that uh I think that’s a combination that’s that’s really intriguing to me so I really like him uh another guy probably my favorite guy in this class um even though he’s not number one is uh Jaylen Tyson I really like Jaylen Tyson uh I think he’s I every once in a while you just you get this gut feeling about players that you think are just really going to impact winning uh even if they don’t put up these crazy stats but I think Jaylen Tyson is somebody that impacts winning basketball um in a variety of different ways stay out loud is the wing from from Cal people don’t know who that is I know who he is probably have some non some non-raft die hards listening yeah no wor by the way I think you’re I think Bryce also C for jayen Tyson on the same show so come on Bryce already at least at least briefly I think you mentioned him in passing that was a guy he like by the way I agree with you I like J yeah and you know what just to one up Bryce I do think I have him six on my board so I think I’m a little higher on that is even higher than Bryce I think yes what he told that’s good and that’s I actually don’t even know where he is on the mainstream anymore but uh not not as high as that so you you definitely like him yeah I do like him quite a bit and I because I just think he he does a lot of things really really well and and times them really well and it leads to winning plays so I’m I’m really in on Tyson he’s somebody I’ve watched since high school and I think he’s grown a lot um as a p we trajectory too like played played at Texas for a minute played at Texas Tech after that like a lot of coaching changes that have just led to different different things um and I think along the way he’s uh somehow improved with you know wildly different play Styles and things throwing at him um and the last guy I’ll throw out there that I like is uh I have him at 11 or sorry 10 excuse me which is it’s probably higher than a lot of people is Isaiah Crawford um I think he’s somebody that is a really high level perimeter Defender and playmaker uh and somebody that can really shoot it and put the ball on the deck and he’s he’s a he’s a what everybody wants right now A dribble pass shoot Defender uh and I think even though he’s a bit older I have a lot of old guys high this class which is unusual for me but this is the class to do it I gu yes um and I think Crawford is somebody that offers a lot of different things at a high level and can uh produce on the court two or three different ways um any given night and I think that’s something that that really intrigues me no I I like him too um as a especially the shooting came on at the end of his college career which is a big differentiator for him uh no I I like all I like all of those guy I think ker it’s weird how he went from being like I don’t know if he was number one in preseason but he was he was number one or top two or three for a lot of people 10 months ago and then punched and I get it UFC was weird they they did they had a weird B I don’t think it was his fault I really don’t and it seems to like he’s Rising again now which is appropriate I think that um I don’t think I have him as high as you but I feel like that he for me he’s like a no doubt lottery pick in this in this class in particular and he’s not being talked about that way I think he still might go on the lottery because he it only takes one team but I feel like he’s like a no doubt Lottery guy in this class for me and with upside I think he might have the highest speaking of guys with like high high high and 95% off he’d be really high on the list of sealing outcomes to this class which again that’s not why that’s not all you care about but if he really worked out that way for me this year but I think think there’s real star Equity with him like real yeah and I think that again it’s it’s not the only thing I care about but when you factor in Star Equity um I think there there’s more to factor in with somebody like him or Holland than there are for for other guys such as like you know maybe Rees aay or kingan um and I think that that col’s 21st vsb that’s so low yeah a lot of people I’ve noticed have them around in in the 20s and I I I try to be understand like I’m I’m I don’t really love re at one I could understand taking him though at two two or three sure um I can’t wrap my head around white Kier would would be in the 20s for somebody really understand it even as again you’re you’re even higher than than I am so I can imagine what you think about it but I it’s just that’s too low for me even if you don’t love him like just the physicality and he’s what 63 6 he’s got real for a point guard anyway lots of like there um well St thank you for doing this number one I appreciate it hopefully this was uh enlightening for people uh I’m trying to get all kinds of perspectives even even Bryce I had to ask Bryce to come on I’m just kidding I had fun with Bryce sorry about that no it’s it’s okay no I I appreciate it I know you were hesitant to do this earlier but please please plug your podcast I would like you to share where you are offering regular analysis on uh on the NBA draft I appreciate that and thank you for having me this is it’s always been a goal of mine actually to be in a locked on uh podcast I have yet to do it in however many years I’ve been around and this is my first time I loved it so thank you for having me but I uh yeah I I’m on upside swings uh Bryce hosts it I give him a lot of crap obviously but uh he does a really good job of hosting it um and thankful for having him there Cooper as well um he also is on there and does a lot of work there um you could could find me reportt to on on Twitter I still call it that and I think that he’s uh excuse me I am going to be sharing a lot of um things going up to the draft different podcasts I’m on mock drafts any sort of my work will be found there um I’ll put a board up probably the week of the draft uh and I’m going to try to write the reasonings behind why I have guys where I do and that could be found on upsid swing.com uh in our prev work could be found there as well so thank you again for having me it’s been a lot of fun uh and I I do look forward to seeing what the Hawks do draft night yeah I would love to know I I kind like to fast forward now we’re at that we’re at that stage all right what are you gonna do I want to know but no thanks for doing this I appreciate it hopefully everybody liked the conversation check out upside swings I’m I’m a listener to upside swings that’s how I knew to ask both Bryce and stone to Thanks for the vids brad. Its refreshing that you're somewhat tapped in on the hawks. Because the braves and falcons people that do podcasts are nowhere near as tapped in
Plus these vids always come out when im about to sleep. Gotta love that
What are you guys seeing. Sarr is the player that fits. What are you thinking. Trae, Vit, BI, JJ, and Sarr. Everyone can bring the ball up the floor. We have to get Sarr to play with Trae. Sarr athleticism works with Trae.
Sarr looks very comfortable taking elbow shots and face ups. As long as he can do that he really doesn't need a three, that would be the cherry on top
If we don't get BI, whatever 3, we get free agents to play 3. Clingan is not good at creating his on shots.
Sarr defense helps defense is what we need 1.5 blocks a game. Sarr against Ignite blocks 6 shots. OO and Sarr can play on the floor together.
Clingan is not a stretch big.
What guards are playing defense.
Trae was top ten in steals before he got hurt.
Sarr had 26 points against Ignite
The players we have are pretty good. Kobe, Seth, MO G, and I hope we resign Vit, and Miles Norris.
Zacc will not be a star. I don't see it.
Fuck 3 years, start him! You won't know what you have until he plays. Any other number 1 plays right away…. not in atlanta smh
youll hate sarr and watch he will be a all star soon then later
this feel like the front office selling us on DEI AND A BAR ON THE BASELINE
OVER THINKIN, WELCOME TO THE A
The hawks will screw it up. Just like any Atlanta sports team. Falcons, suck. United, suck. Braves, massively underperforming. Hawks, trades Trae for Luka who is in the finals. Whoever they select at 1, guaranteed to be a bust. The hawks won’t draft their way out of a paper bag. Disappointment guaranteed every year for Atlanta sports fan, in every single freaking sport.
People saying the Hawks guards are defensive liabilities. Is false. The truth is both improved. Before his injury. Trae was in the top 10 for Charges Drawn along with Capela. Still, Trae was #8 in steals. Ironically, Dejounte finished this season #8 in Steals & #4 in deflections. Which causes steals & turnovers also.
Sarr has a 7'4" wingspan and is a natural defender & shot blocker. He's an exciting Rim Runner who will have impact.
Sarr will insert himself into the action. From day 1. Exactly what the Hawks need. They're already the 5th highest scoring team in the nba. With 8 guys scoring double figures. Scoring is not the most important issue.
Other than Capela, no one can grab 10 or 11 rebounds every game. This is proven & the major problem right now. Quin wants high volume 3 point shooting every game. With NO REBOUNDERS. ???¿¿¿¿??? 10 points & 7.5 rebs is all they get from Okongwu. He hasn't done what we need at all. No more excuses for him. Under a new contract. Still hasn't earned a starting job yet. Bey, at 6'7 was more effective & productive than Okongwu. Just facts. Sarr has more potential & a higher ceiling in my estimation.
Defense,… blocking shots & rebounding is what's missing. Sarr is the solution. Zac Risacher, Ware, Holland or even Clingan are not moving the needle as rookies. They're not starting for the Hawks or other contenders. In terms of playing defense rebounding, or blocking shots against guys like Giannis, Embid, Wemby, Porzingis, Banchero, Horford, Jaren Jackson. Chet Holgren, or AD. In comparison they won't even get playing time. Sarr has potential to at least work his way into the Hawks rotation. Just be realistic & honest. The others don't provide what the Hawks need at this point.
