Gavin Shaw your favorite play-by-play broadcaster favorite play-by-play broadcaster just wrapping up my spring season with the New York state lacrosse championships he is Alex Wolf editor and chief of the Strickland great6 website in the whole wide world you can check them out on all forms of social media at the strict. land and uh this question uh he might be a Strickland fan we know for sure he’s a locked on Nicks fan Jordan bub ATB Jordan our our mailbag and MVP he wanted to know Alex what would be the perfect off season for the Knicks in your opinion and keep it as realistic as you can if you think it as a 40 to 50% chance of happening then you can add it I I appreciate the realistic qualifier on this question not you feel pressured to be like well I I think the Nicks are good at trade for Luca donic this offseason which probably does not quite hit the 40 to 50% threshold um but there are some really great things that could happen for the Knicks that are really realistic Alex I’m going to leave it to you to start us off on that yeah I mean I think the re the the Great part about this question is that even if things just mostly go chalk of what we expect it means that the Knicks should have a good offseason probably because they’re in a really good spot right now they have really good players they were one game away from these Conference Finals uh they you know without the injuries maybe could have been a Darkhorse finals Contender they were the number two seed in the conference uh things are are looking pretty good they’ve got you know arguably the most Dynamite score in the league right now now in Jaylen Brunson like things are solid um so I think that’s probably the best place to start uh there’s been you know rumors going around that Jaylen Brunson might be open to taking a four-year $156 million extension and I think that’s thing one for what makes this a dream off season if your star player just flatly takes way less than what he’s worth and is happy with that then that’s a great thing for the team and a great thing for the fans uh even if it’s not the best thing for Jaylen brunson’s bank account for you know three generations later of his family um but yeah I mean I I think that’s thing one if Brunson takes four years 156 that’s I mean he could get almost double that if he waits a year and hits free agency next year and then gets a full uh Max extension from the Knicks next year and so if he’s willing to take that and forgo almost a hundred million dollar which again it’s been it’s not been reported that it’s for sure happening but it’s been reported as something that he’s considering and there was even I think I mentioned this the other day but there was like a a little uh fraan slip I guess on on roommates uh the Josh Hart and Jaylen Brunson pod the other week where Josh Hart said uh like yeah something to the effective like yeah you know but what about that extension of yours to Brunson and brunson’s like extension what are you talking about nothing’s been signed yet you know whatever uh just try to my hand broken I can’t sign it yet yeah exactly yeah he can’t sign it with a broken hand um so yeah I mean it seems like things are pointing towards it and if if Brunson signs that that’s that’s a huge win that’s that’s obviously thing one you want to have your best player locked down for as long as possible you want him committed to the team and ideally you want him on a value contract and it seems like Brunson already on one of the biggest value contracts in the NBA is willing to keep himself in that that zone and if that’s the case that’s that’s a huge win towards the off season I I I was going to say it it is very rare you see a player on the best contract in the NBA sign his next contract and it can be deemed one of the best contracts in the NBA you very rarely see that guy even sign a good contract the next time around because he’s typically like screw you guys you you know what it be um I I need to get my money back on this next deal and and typically uh teams will acquest to that I was I always think of Steph Curry who be clear that you could not give Steph Curry enough money to ever make it a bad contract um when he signed but he went from probably the best contract in NBA history after his ankle injury where he was arguably the best player in the world and what was he making like15 million a year yeah it was it was Insanity um and then of course he from that he signed literally the biggest contract at the time in NBA history and if you’re the Warriors you were like all right you know what man well deserved and if Jaylen Brunson like stood on his two feet and said hey like I I took you guys may maybe not from still in a better position than they’d been in in whatever 19 plus Seasons like when Jaylen Brunson came over but like from mediocrity to like slightly better than that to like I I think I think a genuine NBA title Contender and has proven himself to be a top 10 player in basketball and if you if you can sniff top 10 player in the league conversation you warrant absolute Max money and and will generally be a steal to pay that guy the most amount of money that you can pay him barring injury or or or steep decline down the road instead of that uh Jaylen is is is choosing to uh help out his his essentially his Godfather and Leon Rose and um take a a ridiculously good deal again that will again probably be a top five contract in basketball I think I think it’s $15 million a year that he would be saving the Knicks and costing themselves 39 to 54 would be the Gap um it’s ridiculous so that is step one and and if that happens for the New York Knicks I it would be too far to say that everything else is moved just because it’s it’s so important that they keep OG an anobi given what they sent out for him but everything else is almost moot because you have a top 10 player in the league and you are going to be paying him like he’s I don’t know the 70th best player in the league and that that that is great for building out the rest of your team um the the next item on the agenda Alex I think I think again there’ll be no disagreement between the two of us on this um you sign OG and aobi for I had it at a four-year $140 million contract to me $35 million a year is probably just about the best case scenario in terms of what he would take given the way the cap is going to Escalade that is a steal for him and and and a guy who like can can literally just like point at like four four digits right like the Knicks record with him and if you want to include it to eight digits like the Nicks record without him like like it is that simple and to to Showcase his value and the fact that like the Knicks pushed themselves into a corner when they traded to him and and obviously without an extension already in place like it it sort of became like like he gets to name a number and the Nick kind of sort of have to say yeah and and there’s a world where OG can make this acrimonious can make this painful there’s a world where he can take a reasonable deal which I would even argue might be more than four for 140 and there’s a world where he could do things a favor I would describe four years 140 million as a favor that also makes ogan and Obi one of the richest people in the country yeah I mean I kind of feel like he’s gonna I I don’t know if would say help the Knicks out but like you know take a a good take a good payday and maybe forgo signing with a team like the Sixers or something like it does seem like the Sixers are G to make a full-court press for Paul George and then if they don’t get him the rumors are that they’re going to push really hard for OG as like a backup plan of sorts and you know who could blame them like if I were any team in the NBA I would look at OG an adobi as a free agent and be like man that guy could probably help my team I mean honestly any team that has cap space I would I would be like hey you know I I should probably go try to make an offer for this guy I think the only one that is reasonable competition is the Sixers so if there’s any team that’s going to push the Knicks and make them you know have to really you know open up the checkbook in this case uh I think it’s I think that’s going to be the team um but that said I you know I’m with you I think if they could sign him for 35 million annual value I think that’s you know it’s still it’s going to put him right there with their other two star players as far as like the highest earn ERS on the team still not put him anywhere near the highest Echelon of the NBA as far as what guys make and his impact is clearly top tier um so you know I’m not I I don’t think that there’s any issues with paying him again like you said like outside of the top 50 or so highest paid players in the NBA I think that’s totally fair and you know reasonable given what he gives you on both ends uh and it also sort of tempers things a little bit with the Impact versus what you’re going to lose from him inevitably having to miss some time to injury which just seems like something that the Knicks are going to have to be prepared for uh on a yearly basis based off his his history but it’s also worth noting and you know we’re going to bring this up like a million times this offseason probably but the cap is projected right now to be 141 million for next year uh and then it’s projected because of the new TV deal where the NBA is absolutely cleaning up um I mean they’re they’re they’re gonna have three TV Partners possibly a fourth if uh Warner Brothers discovery TNT’s parent company decides to make an 11th Hour bid to give the NBA more money to keep a couple games uh on TNT then I mean they they’re looking at potentially you know a huge huge amount of money getting pumped in the league every single year by these TV companies and that means that with the new CBA they make it so that the cap can only go up 10% each year so there won’t ever be one of those giant like 50% spikes with a new TV deal again but I think it’s reasonable to assume that the cap is going to go up 10% per year every year after this next one for probably the next half decade to a decade uh in which case OG’s contract you know would then just become less and less uh onerous year-over-year and so I think I think if he signs for 4140 that might make some people cringe but we’ve also seen people cringe it like Jaylen brunson’s last deal and we saw how that worked out so you know ultimately the proofs in the pudding and if the Knicks end up winning a bunch of games then I don’t think it will be a big issue um but Gavin I think uh I think we could talk about another guy who might also Inc a contract for four years and in the neighborhood of 140 to 160 million in just a second um so let’s talk about Julius Randall in our next segment also talk about Isaiah hartenstein who will be a big part of this Knick’s offseason uh as well as talk about how we want to fill out the rest of the roster uh as we continue on here first we want to tell you about our good friends at eBay Motors passion drive and patience to us customers all right so let’s let’s keep the dream train rolling here uh we got Brunson we got OG let’s add Julius to the mix a four-year $150 million extension for my guy Julius Randle so you’re paying him a little bit more than OG at anobi OG would making 35 a year Julius would making 37 and a half million per year Jaylen Brunson would be making 39 million a year so to me that that feels like pretty pretty reasonable in terms of like a tiered list of how much they deserve to get paid and I do think like the the tertiary benefit of of of Jaylen taking that discount is like it it does put some subtle pressure on OG and Julius to take a little less and and to be clear um I feel like they need to clarify this every time um I’m not inherently in the camp of of Nicks ownership and try to save Jam Doan money I am only in the camp for the sake of this exercise making the Knicks as good as possible it it is the Knicks perfect offseason is not Julius randle’s perfect offseason o noi’s perfect offseason or even Jaylen brunson’s perfect offseason so I’m trying to save the niick some shekles here Julius Randall four years $150 million to me that that is on the lower end of what he could get but not by that much like if I if I were to like neg Julius a little bit and and argue against against him getting more money than this like there is still zero track record of him having a a successful healthy NBA playoffs despite the fact that he is he’s approaching 30 years old um and this is something we’re going to talk about when we do a deeper dive into the Julius extension what teams in the NBA want Julius Randle like how many other teams are willing to pay up Julius can point to his resume Alex as you’ve noted a guy two all NBAs in the last four seasons probably would be three and four if he had played out this year three Allstars in the last four seasons that is a guy with the way the TV is going to go that I would say 4 for 150 is probably a little bit on the low end for him and yet how many teams are willing to give him more than that and if Julius sits there and lists out his resume points this can come right back and say all right who are we bidding against here and and I think that’s what could could maybe get this deal done of course ideally Julius just wants to take a little less he wants to do what he did last time and and and keep it as reasonable as possible to help this team win and also ensure that he stays a Nick which I think is something he wants to do yeah I mean he he made that prettyy clear the last time around right like he he said you know I’ll take less to in not as many words said I’ll take less to help this team win like I just want this team to you know be able to be good so I’ll take this deal and that was after his first all-nba season when I mean the dollar sign should have been flashing in front of his face at that point you know of like oh I’m about to get paid paid like this is going to be great you know I can maximize my value value and whatever and the first thought on his mind was like let me just get this extension locked in let me commit to this team that found the best in me and let me you know do do them a little favor like he took a little off the top with that deal uh and didn’t take the maximum that he could have possibly gotten um he also you know just avoided you know or or didn’t avoid but you know just kind of forwent the the ability to make a ton of money uh the next which probably wouldn’t have happened you know we’ve said this like three times this offseason but probably wouldn’t have happened given how things went in 2122 it probably ended up being better for him to sign the extension that he did when he did but I mean the Optics at the time were he he was helping the team out a ton and I would not be surprised if he did that again this year now he could go up to as much as four years and I’ve seen anywhere from 181 to 190 million I think that it depends on where the bonuses are allowed to be and stuff like that and I’ll be honest I don’t completely know where to find that information or how to calculate that but I just know I’ve seen like two different numbers thrown around either way you’re looking at like 45 to 47 million uh per season for him is what his maximum could be I while I agree with you I think four for 150 would be my ideal or somewhere in that neighborhood I kind of feel like I just have this feeling that he and Brunson are gonna sign exact matching extensions um I just because it’ll look good that way it shows that they’re the co-stars of this team you know whatever and I don’t know and then then it’s like oh well you know they’re they’re both being treated well or as well as they can be by the team or whatever like he’s he’s keeping things level with Brunson so that you know there’s no money issues I I don’t know thing like the good news there is like Jaylen doesn’t have any ego right like he’s he will not be bothered by that even though in his mind he could say like screw that like obviously I’m our best player at this point yeah he wouldn’t care I mean he’s already making less than julus he was making I think Jaylen was making less than R.J Barrett going into this year so like and he didn’t care about that at all so I mean you know if he’s making less or more or whatever than Julius I don’t think it bothers him I don’t think it would bother Julius either but I think that that would almost be like a leon move of being like we’ll get you guys the exact same contract and this way like you guys both have the same jumping off point if you ever want it you know but we’re gonna do do right by you guys we’re gonna build a contender blah blah blah you know whatever so I I that’s kind of where I land on Julius right now um but I’m with you on everything you said you know I I think it’s unfortunate like we’ve seen a ton of great play from him espe these last two years and prior to him getting hurt this year like after he broke that huge slump he started the year in he was playing probably his best basketball as a Nick I think that and especially once OG came over that one month in January I mean if you want any reason to like sign all these guys give everybody all the money it’s that month like it that was that was the most dominant month I think we’ve ever seen the Knicks play In Our Lifetime or maybe anybody’s Lifetime right now like I mean other than those that were lucky enough to be alive for the title teams back in the day I mean it was it was one of the most dominant months in team history um so yeah I think I think try to get him on about what you sign Brunson for if he’s insistent on the 180 to 190 Million number I think you even go ahead and just do that I mean I don’t think he would be untradeable you know an all NBA player making 45 million a year it just is you know less than ideal you would just you you would like if he could do the same thing again and save himself some money but I wouldn’t fault him for trying to find the money either or say I’d rather wait till free agency next year and just do it then um but speaking of guys that are hitting free agency Isaiah hartenstein is a free agent this year and we’ve this is another guy we’ve talked about a couple times already but it comes to part of the dream off season I mean I I think we’re in pretty pretty Stark agreeance here Gavin and there doesn’t have to be too much uh too much talk about this one but you just you you hand him the maximum amount of money that you can and you just hope he takes it which for the Knicks is four years and 72 and a half million uh for Isaiah hartenstein um which is probably less than what some other teams will be able to give him and you just kind of gotta say hey man please just believe in this team and Believe in Us and take this money and don’t take 20 million from OKC or whatever and and hopefully we can go Inn a championship the next couple years but I I think that’s pretty much all that it comes to with the hardenstein situation yeah no there’s no there’s no need to to go in depth on it even even we did go in depth on it but sorry sorry guys for wasting your time um you you you give him the you give him the max you can give him four for 72 and yeah you you count your lucky stars If he if he wants to take what will inevitably be a discount because like I can guarantee there will be a team it it might maybe it’s not the Thunder maybe it’s not a team he particularly wants to go to or ever seriously considers there will be a team that offers him more than that um and he will be doing the Knicks as solid and he will be just showing that like he loves his team he loves his culture and kind of following in suit like as like essentially what we’re saying for all four of these guys um fortunately under Leon Rose has kind of been the modus operandi right like it has been consistent that guys take less than what they could get from another team to be a part of what the Knicks have built and and and there’s some magic in what the Knicks have built we spent all playoffs talking about we spent all season talking about so there’s a reason to think it could happen I think it does fall within that 40 to 50% threshold that Jordan prescribed us so I think it’s reasonable Nicks resigned Isaiah hardenstein starting five is back full rotation back we’re locked in Championship Contender but now how can we help them on the margins is there a trade or two that ni can make to get even better to tip the odds even more in their favor are there some draft picks we’d like to see the Knicks go after um to supplement the future as much as the present we will get into all of that and much much more next on lockdown Nicks but first we got to your job for free terms and conditions apply all right Gavin we’re back in to keep talking through this this mailbag question from Jordan bub about the perfect Knicks off season and I think the next thing I mean yeah you said it in the last segment to end off like the whole rotation is secure now this means that everybody that contributed leading to the playoffs and in the playoffs and everything else is is ready to rock starting five is good you know your key bench players and Josh Hart Duce McBride uh well we didn’t address press suchu I guess maybe that’s a that’s someone to bring up here but um you know I think there would just be the things around the margins now it’s like what do you do about the guys towards the end of the bench uh or the guys that were kind of Fringe rotation players uh at that point then you know about what their role is going to be with the team going forward um so we didn’t actually have a written down I feel bad for the guy now but I’m gonna say I would probably look to resign prea I I think if you can get him for I don’t know 10 million or something like that like give him like a two-year deal you know something you’re not committed to him for a really long time something where if you have to jet him just for salary purposes or whatever I know that’s like really I always feel so brutal I was just going to say Alex do do they have room to give him 10 million if they pay all these other guys what we prescrib to pay them without hitting the aprons I mean the aprons I think we’re going to get into it in another episode soon um and we’ve already talked about a little bit in a luxury tax primer recently but I think the aprons are sort of becoming an inevitability at this point um and I kind of think that both aprons are gonna be hit this year um if they pay all these guys what they’re worth I mean if if nothing else you’re just if they find a way to skirt just under the second apron this year it would probably mean getting rid of boan for basically nothing which I don’t think is their plan I think their plan is and should be to you know use his salary to kind of push Kick the Can down the road if nothing else like sort of what they did with Evan forer’s expiring salary turning it into Boon’s salary that they could then use in a deal this summer you know I think their plan is to use him towards like a superstar or something um but yeah I mean uh short of just non- guaranteeing his money for that $2 million charge that they can do I I think it’d be really hard for them to come in under not just the first apron but the second apron for this year and and then I guess you would just hope for the future like with all those deals locked in maybe their plan would be frontload the contracts which is what they’ve done with some in the past you know give guys more money this year hit that second apron this year and then with the escalating cap and descending contracts hope that they can then come down below the second apron sooner than later like within a year or two um which would make it way less punitive because it’s that second apron it gets really punitive if you’re in it for longer um because then they then they start pushing your first round pick to the automatically to the end of the first round and stuff like that so there’s all kinds of things that go with that now um but that would be my best theory my if I’m putting my Brock Aller cap on to how they would avoid all that this year um but yeah I would probably resign precious just because I think that he’s a useful player um and he he stepped up well every time that the Knicks needed him this year I mean he was just a great breaking case of emergency guy and you know I’m not totally sold that he’s like done growing yet either I mean he was the same draft class as like Emanuel quickley Tyrese halberton you know all these guys in 2020 um and we’re not treating any of those guys like complete products yet so I don’t know why we would treat precious that way you know I don’t know that his three-point shooting is going to magically come around but if it does he becomes an immensely Valuable Player um so yeah I don’t know I think he’s a guy worth investing in just based off what he did for the Knicks this year um but Gavin I know you’ve got some ideas about potentially and these are things that we might discuss on some future episodes hint hint but some some other ideas about how the Knicks could maybe uh you know spice things up a little bit and kind of fill out that end of the bench a little differently yeah um I’m gonna keep this one really brief because I want to save it for tomorrow or the next time whatever order we put these out in but um trading some combination of of boan and I think it would ultimately like this is where it gets really dicey I think you’d have to include dece McBride to get Malcolm brogon just if if they do hit that that uh first apron um and certainly if they hit the second apron just because you would not be able to trade for exceeding salary at that point obviously and and Brogden makes 22 and a half million a year boan makes I think1 19 a half million dollar a year so um but I still like the idea of that it’s getting a true blue backup point guard that is a a a genuine shock creator for others indu has shown moments he has shown flashes even of self-creation that’s been really good he is not that guy he is not that level of passer or at least has not shown himself to be in the NBA like it it’s hard to put a cap on the guy with with how dramatic of a jump he made so maybe he’ll come back next year make me look stupid and you just want to keep dece at the money he’s making and you just want to keep Bogey and get that extra shooting um from the three four spot instead of the backup spot backup point guard spot but I think brogon can still be ultra valuable and that he is a true backup point guard um but like gives you a lot of scoring and is an elite shooter at that position who can also play alongside Jaylen Brunson you almost have to take into account injuries at this point brogen can get hurt but o noi can get hurt down to De chenzo could get hurt Josh Hart could get hurt like I I think that is valuable insurance and given what we saw in this year’s playoffs like having what essentially would be like like the Apex version of Alec Burks all the time and a better passer and Defender like that that would be pretty sweet for the Knicks um but Alex unless you have any thoughts with that I figured we could wrap up like talking about like our our Dream for the Knicks draft this year yeah and I I go back and forth on this a lot um you know as I’m starting to get to know this draft class a little bit I’m starting to realize there’s a lot of guys that I like that are going to potentially be just ahead of the Knicks range and considering they have three picks going into this year I mean I’ve talked about it again I’ve said this like three or four times and it’s the offseason so we’re going to get into things multiple times but feel like I’ve almost talked about this ad nauseum so far but like one thing I think the Knicks need to do is make their end of bench spots a little more valuable um in terms of like potential trade throwin or whatever which you know again it feels dirty to like talk about dudes that way that are going to be like on the end of your bench but like Jericho Sims Dwayne Washington you know um uh Charlie Brown Jr you know Jacob toppen Whoever has been down the end of the bench there um uh oh my God why am I forgetting the other guy’s name dcoin Jeff dcoin Jeff yes uh he’s so memorable um but you know it’s just like all these guys they’re not really guys that any team would be like oh yeah I want him in a trade you know like oh yeah that that tips the scales like that doesn’t really none of those guys really do that so if you use all three of your draft picks this year like you have three spots on the end of the bench that could be given to you know three rookies because last year to to end the playoffs you had Shake Milton uh Jericho Sims and dequon Jeff all on NBA contracts on the end of your bench and none of them were good enough to play even when the Knicks were down so many players uh Jericho Sims had a cup of tea for a minute and just got I I think massively exposed in the playoffs is like yeah this guy just does not work for playoff basketball um and you know neither the other two guys got any minutes either so I would look to if I could use all three of those draft picks but you know I also think there are some names like one name that you wrote down in our in our dock here that I completely agree with Devin Carter like from what I’ve seen of him fits the Knicks Bill perfectly like he is an older player Dynamite scorer um you know kind of did a little bit of everything thing had like nonsensical like block and steel numbers for a guy of his size he’s like 6 fo five I think but he was one of the higher six2 and a half I think six2 and a half even even crazier yeah I’ll double check that right now but yeah go ahead and yet had crazy crazy block numbers this year I he’s just a Do-it all like run all around the court like a madman kind of guy and and that just seems Josh hard Jr Alex is I really I think I think it’s a comp there but yeah yeah he would be very Josh hard of J um I think he’s a guy that could potentially step in day one on its hips team and play um especially because he’s older he kind of seems to get it you know what I mean there wouldn’t have to be like as much of a a bring him along process um so I mean he’s the type of guy that if the Knicks had the opportunity to like package two of those picks like 24 and 25 to move up to like 18 and grab him or something I think that’ll be well worth it even if you’re you know then not filling out all three of those bench spots but I do think it’s really important that they in my opinion spend at least two draft picks this year like I think they should spend two draft picks and get two rookies on the team you need those sort of contracts you need that sort of development like every Contender has at least one person that comes along and like within a period of like two to three years of when they win that Championship uh as like a rookie sophomore third-year player whatever and contributes in some way to Championship level basketball like I just feel like there’s always one of those guys on those teams um so I I think that would be what I’d be looking to do if I were the Knicks use use at least two draft picks possibly consolidate a couple down to try to move up for someone you really like but uh or maybe even use you know like 24 this year and like one of the future picks like Milwaukee’s pick next year or something and use that to try to move up a little bit um and see what you can do because I do think that there’s going to be a good amount of like role player type dudes available to the Knicks in this year’s draft that could be could be really valuable to have on the team especially if the injury hits again yeah I’m I’m in total agreement with you the Knicks have have proven under Leon Rose to be extremely good at drafting and extremely good at development and right now they are not really maximizing those resources and as guys get more expensive as as to your point like they maybe hit a second apron at some point have to make a consolidation trade like they they right now like like in in the scenario that their five highest paid players don’t get hurt again which I assume isn’t going to happen hopefully it doesn’t happen again um they have the benefit of a whole lot of depth it when you become a contender that doesn’t last forever like look at the Denver Nuggets this year like they they had everything they needed to win a title a year ago they lose Bruce Brown they lose Jeff Green all of a sudden they don’t and and it costs them because like the minutes they had to play bench guys like were were just disastrous for them and and on the Knicks it took again like the worst injury luck of all time for that to happen but they do have to plan for a future where they’re not always gonna have all these guys to bring Off the Bench um as you hear the alarms outside my door that’s that’s kind of what it’s singling like like there like you have to plan for that future so the guys I wrote down and again like future episode we will inevitably do a a deeper dive on this but I had Devin Carter Josh Hart Jr you just go just go read his his ringer draftboard scouting report and you’ll just think it’s someone describing Josh Hart uh Dalton neck who could bring or Dalton connect uh who could bring a little bit of what Boon bonovich brings to the table obviously not at as high of a level unless he like absolutely hits the ceiling but I would love for the Knicks to like insulate their shooting and like some shooting with size I think is something that they just don’t have a lot of right now would be really really good for the type of Team they’re building and also like I think that’s the best way to take advantage of ojan anobi jacobe Walter to me is another guy similar to Devon Carter like kind of the ultimate tibs esque player is a little bit of a higher ceiling than Carter probably a little bit less ready to play right now but he’s someone you could bring along for the future and then khle wear who I always see people in our comments asking us to talk about an address I’m sure we’ll go more in depth on him when we have a draft expert on like there’s some stuff he has to address in terms of physicality in terms of weight his abill said hard screens I do not think he’s someone who would play a lick of time next year but the Knicks like we we saw how po a a stretch Rim protecting five could be with the Pacers with the Celtics unfortunately with a former Nick doing it um it would be amazing to surround Jaylen Brunson with that type of guy especially into his 30s like where if he loses just a little bit of explosiveness like you want to make his life as easy as possible a center that could shoot threes would do just that so those are those are some of the guys I’m looking at again we were just kind of touching on all this stuff today but this was a version of our perfect offseason um so for Alex I’m Gavin Shaw we will talk to you very very soon on lockon Nick some coming up on Julius Randall and uh maybe some more trade discussion we’ll get into that next time on lock on Nicks [Music] [Music]

It can be overwhelming but also thrilling to imagine what your perfect life would be like. If you’re anything like us the Knicks are your life and well…it’s time for a little dreaming.

  1. Resign to team friendly deals, draft multiple players who can give good backup minutes right away while still developing, sign a value free agent, and then wait for a star like Giannis to become available to go all in on while avoiding temptations for other trades until then.
