I think if he decided no, he would’ve already made it public. It sounds like he wants to inform his players/UConn admin before the news breaks.

A week ago, no one had any sources pointing to Dan Hurley as coach except for Woj. Now everyone does, I guess, even going so far as to know what he’s thinking.
Probably signed with the Clippers.
I think this eclipsed the Kawhi chase for me as the most I’ve refreshed my phone. Certainly the most tense I’ve felt about a basketball decision since 2010.
Until a decision has been announced it’s ridiculous to say one has been made. He can change his mind anytime leading up to or even after he makes a public announcement. We’ll know when the deal is signed, or not.
I really respect Norlander and hear his point but the whole thing of East coast NBA jobs being available in 2-3 years…there’s no guarantee Hurley will still be a popular name then. Maybe he has a couple of rough seasons at UConn, a bad public incident and then we’re thinking of him like Chip Kelly. Reputations rise and fall very fast; he’ll never have the kind of leverage he has now again unless he keeps winning championships, which is very hard to do, no matter how great of a coach you are. Coach K had downcycles. Calipari is at fucking Arkansas. Shit changes fast.
