What do yall think about this?

I think the grizzlies should take Kel’el Ware at 9 for a variety of reasons

1) Drafting him at 9 means we don’t have to give up assets to move up to in the draft, or bring in another C with a higher contract.

2) Drafting Ware allows us to run a 5 out lineup. Ware is a good 3pt shooter for his size, which only helps when you have a sub par 3pt shooter as your star PG

3) Ware is 7’0” with a 7’5” wingspan who is a good interior defender and shot blocker that would only compliment Jaren’s game

4) due to Ware’s size, we have more room to play a shorter 1-3, whether that be Ja/Bane/Smart or Ja/Bane/VWJ. Jaren is allowed to roam a little more and can help switch on bigger wings that Vince or Smart might be guarding

5) Ware is a good rebounder that helps fill that hole

6) Centers in the draft are USUALLY the safest bet because historically their game translates better or the same from college to the NBA

7) Ware would be on a rookie deal meaning that we have more room to bring in another player or keep the depth we have without sacrificing too much for salary

8) While people say that Ware has a “low motor” or is “soft,” he showed much more promise this year at indiana, not being afraid to take a hit or play big body in the paint.

I think he fits here and fits our system that could help push us over the edge at a championship.
