we’re going to go through our stepbystep explanation for why we think it would be a perfect move for darl Mo and Company Point number one Alex Caruso is an elite perimeter Defender the eye test tells you that and the numbers back that up up Caruso in 2023 2024 look at where he ranked in a lot of important defensive categories and metrics deflections 3.7 per game that’s a lot first in the NBA steel percentage 2.9 first in the NBA loose balls recover fourth in the NBA that screams Philadelphia athlete who dives on the hardwood to carala lose B and the fans go nuts contested threes he’ll get out to the three-point Arc to make the shot difficult 3.1 and the Honore of being an all defensive second team member those numbers right there really legit it could help take the Sixers defense to the next level he can also play on ball off ball alongside Tyrese Maxi which brings us to point number two he is a steadily improving offensive player just like hitting puberty late Alex carusa a little bit of a late bloomer as far as his offensive development at the NBA level I’m not lying look at what he’s done over the last four years you have seen the three-point numbers get better the field goal numbers become more efficient the points per game the best of the last four years this past year in 20203 2024 where he played 70 games 10.1 points per game three and and a half dimes 40.5% from three-point range and that coming on the most attempts of the last four years nearly five per game and then you flip the page to his Advanced shooting numbers catch and shoot threes 40.5% pullup threes 45.5% the pullup midi which sometimes is a difficult shot 51 a half% and and then on wideopen thre sometimes you think a little bit too much 43 1.2% that’s when a Defender is not within 6 feet these numbers here ladies and gentlemen certainly check out and that’s what happens when you work hard on your game we have seen Alex Caruso get better throughout his career and then coming in at number three Caruso has a very very affordable contract and he makes Championship winning playe and would fit well alongside Tyrese Maxi and Joel MB Caruso this is a steal this is a bargain it’s one of the few good moves the Chicago Bulls have made in recent memory he said during the final year of his deal worth $9.8 million and that low salary allows you to still pursue other free agents and stack up your roster I’m going to explain in one minute why Alex kuso is a perfect fit for the Philadelphia 76ers Point number one he’s an elite perimeter Defender he can guard multiple positions and is a lock down Defender indeed number two he’s a steadily improving offensive player catch and shoot three-point percentage 40 a half% pull up three-point percentage 45 a half% his offensive numbers throughout his career they’ve continued to go up and then lastly why Caruso is perfect for Philadelphia the price tag entering the final year of his deal $9.8 million he hustles he makes winning plays he can hit shots he can play on ball off ball a great fit alongside Tyrese Maxi and Joel embiid darl mury go get our guy now let’s bring in producer chip there after we put on the YouTube short camera rolling it for 60 seconds why do you like Caruso what do you like about his game why do you think he’s a good fit he’d sort of be like in my opinion a super charged version of what DeAnthony Melton was supposed to be for this team now kuso not really known to be sort of the off the dribble score that Melton sort of was at times but that game that aspect of his game is still developing but look we saw him shoot the best he’s ever shot on the most attempts he’s ever shot in his career so he’s going to be able to not only provide the defense which he’s always had his entire career going back to his time in LA which by the way he was the first name on the second Team all defense which means he was the sixth best defender it’s position lless now so he was the sixth best defender in the the NBA this year according to the voters but the offensive game is coming along he’s not going to be a guy that’s going to be a liability out there on the court when you need someone you know standing in the corner spotting up for three again we’ve seen that off the dribble game develop a little bit and he has that that hard-nosed tough mentality he actually was also the winner of the NBA’s hustle award this year so Not only was he a top six six Defender and improving offensively he was the most he had the most hustle out of any player in the league this year playing for a losing team in the Chicago Bulls so imagine now when he comes to Philly a team that’s winning come playoff time you need someone to go die for a loose ball someone to give that extra effort it’s going to be Caruso again that price tag contract wise is Affordable and we’ll look what it might take to trade for him here in a second but if you can give a pick give a player and the Bulls are willing to move on from Caruso man him and Maxi in that back court that would be deadly how Philadelphia does that sound the hustle award defense grit toughness that’s what we’re talking about baby so today’s poll question is this been reluctant to rebuild they’ve been one of the worst run organizations since Michael Jordan retired but I think for Chicago it would be smart for them to start rebuilding right now especially with Caruso’s expiring contract you get pieces back for a player on an expiring deal so the trade idea we put together here you’re going to have to give up somewhat of a lumpsum for a player of this caliber because good teams and well-run organizations know that Alex Caruso is worth it so Paul Reed a 2026 first a 2024 second which is 41 this year and then a pick via Milwaukee in 2027 a second round pick so you give up three total selections for Alex Karu so one of them a first round pick down the road in 2026 it could help the Chicago Bulls rebuild and then let’s say they lose Andre Drummond in free agency you trade them Paul Reed and that could potentially get the deal done there CH yeah look some people might look at this at first and say wow it’s a lot to give up for a role player but Alex cruso is in my opinion much more than a role player he’s one of those guys that you know we’ve seen with the Celtics and Derek white we see with the Mavericks and you know a DJ Washington and D Derrick Jones Jr we see these guys that aren’t going to be your one or two scoring option and aren’t paid the big bucks but they’re the ones who make the differences in the games right and you know we’ve been talking about Alex Caruso he’s been in trade talks especially this past NBA trade deadline and you know there was rumors the Bulls wanted two first round picks plus players for Alex cuso and it makes sense because again these type of players don’t just grow on trees you’re not just going to find an Alex Caruso in the draft ear for agency super easily you know top Defender who’s offens of game shot 40% from three it’s really you know when it comes to three and D players doesn’t get much better than Alex Caruso so if you can walk out of this only giving up one first round pick and a player in Paul Reed who yes you would love to keep but then maybe you just replace him with Andre Drummond if he leaves the Bulls which I think honestly could be an upgrade for one year for what the Sixers really need and then the Bulls get you know a younger higher upside player so again it all comes down to are the Chicago Bulls willing to finally accept their timeline and start building or do they just want to be a 9 10 seed every single year it’s about time they start looking forward towards their organization cuz Alex cruso did just turn 30 years old you know it seems to be a little younger than that because again he is still developing and getting better but you know he did just turn 30 so he doesn’t really fit the timeline of what the Chicago Bulls should be considering there might be you know a little bit of a bidding war for Alex kuso because he’s going to be a popular asset for contending teams will you have to maybe scrap the two seconds that an extra first it could get a little bit pricey you know we’ll see again what the Bulls decid to do but I think this is a very fair deal for both teams Sixers not you know going all in but you know giving up some picks get a good player Bulls get some assets rebuild a little bit here Chicago give us Alex Caruso I promise you you won’t regret it and we’ll absolutely love Caruso and he’ll love it
