Yeah, Vegas is extremely tuned in. Although it’s been pretty obvious that Sheppard is the pick at 3 for a while now.

What Vegas can’t predict is whether or not we find a suitable trade. Because as clear as Reed has been, it’s been even more clear that Stone is looking to move this pick for a solid vet who can help us win now.

+230 to +250 is really close. Last time I saw these odds it was wider for Reed

Feel like risacher is projected 2 which is why he’s +900.
Castle doesn’t want to be on a team with a point guard and we got Fred, Amen, and a passing big. Plus he’s an awful shooter. Best case scenario, after a few years of development, maybe he’s as good as amen is now with similar skill set.
Clingan could be a decent rim running/drop coverage big but his movements don’t look extremely fluid to me and his free throw shooting isn’t great. And he’s not a shooter either. He scored worse than Edey in a lot of mobility tests while being smaller. His offensive game is limited because he’s cant face up for middys like Joel or Jokic can (or Sengun’s shot put). He’s good at sealing position down low and can draw several defenders with his paint scoring and he’s show some decent passing to cutters or shooters but his passes are telegraphed and nothing like Sengun’s who essentially gives teammates free open dunks. Defensively, classic drop coverage big. Brook Lopez, Gobert, a lot of great defensive bigs predominantly play drop but at the same time, it’s 2024 and some teams have an answer for that (cooking them on perimeter in iso). He could also use some work on his screens. The risk of injury will always be there with the way he moves at that size.

I’d prefer we trade it. But if we pick, give me Castle, please. I think he’s the #2 behind Sarr. I like Buzelis as well.
Unpopular opinion: I’m also not sold on Sheppard or Clingan, unless we’re picking outside the Top 10.
