HOOPER on Instagram: “Only $3 million of Looney’s $8 million salary is guaranteed until it fully locks in on June 24. If Looney is released, expect plenty of interest.”
I’m convinced some of you guys don’t watch basketball Kevon Looney body is starting to breakdown he isn’t the player he once was.

Ehhhhh, he could be a center, and we technically really need a center, but hes not young, and I don’t care about winning. If we’re paying someone without a high ceiling, it’s to trade them later, be a vet, or to hold a bad contract. Also I refuse to touch any warrior after Poole.

I actually think this would be a good piece for us. Looney is a championship winning role player who has an outstanding work ethic. However, he’s also not capable of taking over games and may just be washed, period.
In short, he’s not gonna mess up our tank but would be invaluable for building good habits and mentoring young players. And he might even fetch a small return from a desperate team at the deadline. I think that’s fairly attractive tbh.

Kevon Looney, at this point in his career, will have **zero** interest in playing on a rebuilding team.

I mean we have a 9.8M TPE from Morris trade we could use to eat his salary for GSW but not sure they would be willing to give up a decent asset for it. I’d rather try and dangle that during the draft though.

Dude’s hip is pretty cooked. If we were a contender, then bringing him in for a year or 2 and gambling that his health holds up would make more sense.
Washington is still years away from contending so he doesn’t really fit the timeline.
