Bleacher Report Trade Proposal

Breakdown:

Hawks Receive: Cole Anthony, Anthony Black, a 2024 first-round pick from Denver, a 2025 first-round pick from Orlando, a 2027 first-round pick from Orlando and a 2029 first-round pick from Orlando

Hawks Lose: Trae Young, Bogdan Bogdanović and a 2030 first-round pick swap with Denver

Magic Receive: Trae Young and Michael Porter Jr.

Magic Lose: Jonathan Isaac, Cole Anthony, Anthony Black, a 2025 first-round pick, a 2027 first-round pick and a 2029 first-round pick

Nuggets Receive: Jonathan Isaac, Bogdan Bogdanović and a 2030 first-round pick swap

Nuggets Lose: Michael Porter Jr. and a 2024 first-round pick

What do you guys think? Personally, I don’t love this. It’s a commitment to a short-term rebuild. We are almost definitely not a playoff team next year after this. I think we can trade DJM or Trae and still be a playoff team IF we can get a star back.

Trading Trae without getting our own picks back is beyond stupid. Especially for these picks

Lmao this just springboards the Magic into contention, Denver is a wash, and we get sent into a rebuild without or own picks

This isn’t a Murray situation. Orlando will be insane with both Trae and MPJ out there with Paolo. He will never have to worry about spacing again as long as Franz doesn’t forget how to play basketball again

All those trades for the Hawks are garbage!!!!

  4. Jake_doe

This is beyond dumb for Orlando to take on all that salary. I hate BR.

Cut out Den and make a simple ATL/ORL proposal.

Bleacher Report’s downfall needs to be studied

So Cole Anthony, Anthony Black, and 3 picks in the 20s (possibly even mid to late) for Trae and Bogi????

    Hard pass

So our best player and second best scorer for two rotation PGs and a bunch of picks from teams that don’t project to be in the lottery the next few years?

No hell to the no! I can’t even express how bad of an idea this is.

And Orlando would never went Trae. If you don’t play defense above all else they don’t want you and as much as Trae has improved there he wouldn’t be good enough for what they want.

Edit – not sure why people are downvoting this. This trade sucks for the Hawks that’s a fact. 2nd fact it is well established with the current Magic team if you aren’t defense first they don’t want you. That’s not a slight on Trae but that’s not who he is as a player.

Last thing we need is another tiny 6’2 guard who is even less skilled than Trae and yet another wing project who won’t make an impact (if any) for years. And then we will throw in some late first round picks….the Hawks can’t even hit on a top 5 pick!!

Every trade which leads to a rebuild (and that is every trade of Trae) will need to somehow get us our own first(s) back.

Good thing that neither the Hawks nor Magic trade in division. Let go of these awful trade proposals from these awful national publications, man.

So we instantly become a bad team without Trae running our offense and help San Antonio become a powerhouse of the decade with our multiple years of unprotected lottery picks all so that we can *checks notes* have 4 picks in the 15-30 range?

    Wow sign me up! /s
