Suns Trading Bradley Beal Is Next To Impossible But Could Happen

can the Phoenix Suns find a Bradley Beal trade who’s the best Suns draft pick ever and there’s a new coach on the bench it’s phnx Suns and it starts nowco welcome man it’s B andx Suns I’m Gerald gentlemen we got plenty to talk about today but we’re gonna start with some news in the NBA and in particular with the Phoenix Suns uh we actually have a transaction of the day brought to you by our friends over desert Financial Credit Union Arizona’s Best Arizona’s Best Credit Union Let’s uh let’s take a look at it we have a new coach here in Phoenix gentlemen as Adrien W rowski reported today former University of Washington head coach Mike Hopkins is now a member of the Phoenix Suns bench he was a two-time pack 12 Coach of the Year Saul you are our resident uh Pack 12 guy what did you think about the Hopkins news today I mean it it was news I think uh in talking to some people around the Pack 12 uh there’s a couple big themes here first of all uh very good with players um got great relationship with players knows how to talk to them that might sound funny as a coach but like some coaches just don’t know how to talk to players it’s just point like they know how to recruit them but they might not know how to talk to them so that’s a big um you know he’s he’s he’s developed players he’s had some NBA players come out of his out of his program up at udub and so um widely liked um and so I think the development process of this is kind of something that that appealed to the Suns and like I said he’s just a he’s a he’s a good guy and a lot of people like him especially players and they could probably use some more of that in that locker room I I like it I like it play as coach like you said good reputation two time back back to back coach of the year in the Pack 12 um Pros knows how to coach Pros matis styel Jen McDaniels Isaiah Stewart like he’s he’s got some pedigree there um but my favorite part my favorite part about this guy is he is a master of the two3 Zone baby that’s what we do that’s what we do Jim Bean Syracuse stand up this guy went to the Pack 12 and immediately implemented his zone defense and was fantastic fantastic did a great job at it so that’s my type of Coach I [ __ ] love Zone this guy we had to know there was some weird uh weird turn he was gonna he’s ready to recruit for his pickup on the weekends yeah um like 22 years under beheim at Syracuse that’s a long time he also was on nine different Team USA coaching staffs and those teams won six titles out of those nine so he’s he’s been around the coaching level at various levels as well so it’s interesting how many of these is have a background in Player Development that’s kind of one thing that’s standing out to me um because that’s been an area of weakness in our eyes for quite some time so it feels like something they’re Shoring up and I’m curious to see how they’re implementing that with the g-league whether they’re getting younger what the what the plan is there that’s my biggest question because you’ve added a guy in the front office that is college coach you’ve added a head coach from the G Le you’ve added a guy that spent his entire career uh as a college coach on the bench are you looking at getting getting younger because there you don’t have any youth right now that you’re trying to develop you don’t have guys uh in most cases that are you know going to respond real well to the Rah ra I’m a college coach you know a kind of kind of approach where younger guys tend to it does this does this show that maybe it isn’t F them kids anymore maybe they actually are going to take that part seriously I don’t know if I don’t know if this really shows you that I why I a college coach then I I don’t know you should ask them what I’m saying is is like it’s not like they’re going to revamp the roster with a bunch of college kids on this roster like that’s not going to happen you got your top six or seven guys already so what is it about uh the Player Development aspect of that um that you’re looking for I don’t think that necessarily is only pigeon hole to college kids I think you got to look at listen this this team like I said a couple weeks ago they cannot afford to not turn over every single Stone and if you can find a guy that’s been stashed in Europe uh for a little while that you think oh you know what maybe he just needs another chance to come to the league and we can we can help him out or he’s been developing at a at a pretty significant rate like then you do that and you got to look at all the the the availability out there not just in one specific sect in college like I think you got to look at other g-league teams is there any other players that are out there that might be available that that could help the Sun so in that regard I think yes I think they’re trying to shore up some things and now they they do have the g-league now they have had that before so they’re going to naturally enhance um everything that they have in the development space but does that relate to what the suns are trying to do I’m not I’m not quite sure I I think it’s a little bit of everything I think I think you’re both right I think it’s College I think it’s overseas I think it’s g-league development um I’m I’m going to tell you I think the suns are going to dive deeper into the undrafted free uh undrafted uh free agent pool more than than normal um and this is a guy that could help you in that in that area um you can see some of the workouts they’re having there’s some guys that are coming out to work out with the Suns that aren’t on draft boards you start to wonder what that’s about but um I think that’s going to be fascinating to see how that plays out because again I’m a draft guy and I Don’t Give Up on Second rounders I don’t give up on guys that are undrafted I mean there’s Talent out there you just got to have the right guys in place to do it and for this I like that I think the suns are doing a good job of kind of doing what you said no rocks on turn looking at everything [ __ ] Isaiah th was a really good basketball player he was the last player in the draft it could have been undrafted so um for that sake I like what they’re doing yeah I I think they realize the situation that they’re in that you have to extract every ounce of talent that you can from Every Avenue you can um and the Suns as much as we focus on the big core and how they’re older they need to get younger they still might have some young players on the roster when you look at David Rody n little is technically only 24 even though he’s been in the league for a few years now um Josh aogi is only 25 like bub if they bring him back still only 24 so I think it could be about like okay these rotation players who could give us some positive minutes how can we make them more well-rounded get more out of them in addition to maybe this year’s rookie or g-league prospects that type of thing I think what you’re finding out though more than anything else is that somewhere somehow someway this organization came to the realization that they had grossly underestimated the importance of Player Development and the draft in the last four or five years and they’re right now I’m not saying that they’re not going to make the playoffs or they’re not going to win a championship or anything like that but I do think that based off of The Sweep you just saw um they’re pay they’re paying the price for that lack of attention to detail and I think they’re trying to shore those things up so that that’s one thing that I know for sure is happening I think that’s fair and I I think it maybe when you’re looking at some of these vet minimums I know they say vet minimum it’s a league minimum right maybe you do a little younger with some of these guys and hopes that a guy like Hopkins can help develop them into being a person that can help Off the Bench so I think that’s interesting uh let’s say hi to Chris Amelia that dude we’ve got uh Charles Darth all sorts of people in the chat we want to know what you think are the Suns looking at potentially getting a little younger in that back half is that why you go for a guy like a Mike Hopkins we’d love to hear your thoughts today on the show one other topic around the NBA obviously NBA finals going on we’ve talked about that Chris St porzingis now daytoday with a with an injury how do you think that changes the complexity of the series in terms of obviously bossing up 20 but we know as well as anybody that doesn’t necessarily mean you’re going to win a series we just talked about Tatum yesterday so uh you know the Celtics are good enough for Tatum to not have a good game and still win games uh it makes it a little difficult if christops is not in that lineup to do the same thing so you know obviously the attention is gonna be a lot more on Jason Tatum as if it wasn’t already uh in these coming games if Chris tops can’t play yeah this one hurts man I hate I just hate to see players go through stuff like this at this time of the year in the NBA Finals uh christop is a good dude and and this is a little bit of a scary injury it’s a it’s a rare injury and I know they’re saying dayto day um but it doesn’t sound dayto day there’s nothing about this that sounds dayto day and he was playing terrific but now here’s the blessing in disguise the Celtics have basically played the whole damn playoffs without Chris so they know how to do it this isn’t like you’ve gotten there and now you got this big you know this this gigantic issue that you don’t know how to feel these guys have been doing it most of the playoffs and so that’s a blessing to the skies for them but now the the flip side of it is Dallas has an opportunity now going back home down 20 uh they lost one of their key pegs in their lineup so now they got to go out and try to capitalize them so it’s going to be super intriguing to see how this plays out and how much this shifts the series because uh if Dallas can get one it’s big it changes everything they get game three now and everything changes dramatically so yeah it’s gonna be fascinating scared aren’t you huh you’re scared aren’t you I mean I I I I said this clearly I’m going for Boston I think I got Boston six so yeah I’m a little worried okay wored I mean this was already a must-win with or without porzingis now if you win it’s not just kind of an empty we had to Win It game three at home it could be a momentum change but like you said Boston’s been really good playing without porzingis for most of the playoffs they’ve been going up against injured opponents but Luca is not 100% right now he’s still a pigeon on defense it feels like and like Al Horford is a great guy that you can turn to in a situation like this he’s done really well all season they’ve also got Xavier Tillman and Luke cornette that they can turn to Off the Bench we talked about them yesterday so for selfish reasons I’m excited to see if either one of those guys gets minutes and what they can do but you probably if you want them here you probably don’t want them to do anything right that’s true that is true but I just like to be validated sometimes I feel that Gerald you’re good at your job thank you real quick Ricardo ranone shout out Boda Puerto Rico thank you for tuning know we talked about disclaimers with the betting getting some disclaimers with what we’re about to talk to talk about Eric hit the music trade machine Tuesday trade machine Tuesday trade machine Tuesday we got to revamp that in the worst way that song sucks compared to the MonDay one it does Lindsay’s got to up her game it’s easier to say when she’s not here I’m afraid of her when she is here it’s trade machine Tuesday Gerald yeah it’s Bradley Beal day you want to run us through the disclaimers the things that you need to say before we get into these deals so for starters I hate trade machine Tuesday now because because I always hate it because you’re talking about real people’s lives and having to uproot and stuff but this isn’t going to happen like these Bradley Bill trades are not going to happen they might though it’s not and it’s for a couple of reasons the reasons are a he’s got the no trade clause so he can kill any deal that he doesn’t want to do B he’s owed 50 million 54 million and 56 or 57 million player option for the next three years so very few teams are going to want to welcome that into their cap book yeah but you’ve got a couple guys that are overpaid on this list too so we’ll talk about it I mean we do but uh and then also like just the fact that as a second tax apron team the suns are still their hands are tied in terms of what they can do in terms of not being able to take back more money than they send out we’ve covered this not being able to aggregate player salaries so they can’t trade multiple players it makes it really tough and when you look around the league about onethird of the league is in the first or second tax apron which means they won’t be able to back more money either so if you’re making a trade with them you have to Loop in a third team so that way those two teams in the apron are not taking more money back than they’re sending out so that’s a lot of Hoops to jump through on top of the fact that like Bradley Beal likes being here he was really excited when he got here to be on a contender and I know that didn’t work out in year one but I don’t see him as the type of guy that’s just going to be like well trade me to Philly or trade me to Orlando because I don’t really want to be here anymore it’s not going to happen but I want people to understand why it’s not going to happen and what actual trades would look like and why they’re so unlikely because a lot of people still don’t understand this second tax apron stuff which I get it’s confusing um but I’ve gotten a lot of questions about why don’t they just trade Bradley Beal why don’t they dump him why don’t they do this and that we’re gonna walk you through why and why it’s just not going to happen can we agree on something for this little thought experiment let’s live in a world where the sons have told Bradley Beal you’re coming off the bench and he says I’m willing to accept a trade and wave my no trade clause right let’s just live in a world where he said you know what Orlando for example sounds like a great place to live uh during the NBA season uh and not just go well nope never gonna happen because of the no trade CLA can we agree on that yeah we have to sure otherwise otherwise two seconds and on to the next second we have to no that’s fair all right Gerald uh the first trade that you cooked up here uh is Jonathan Isaac and Co Anthony uh to the Suns and Bradley Beal and a 20 24 first round pick uh to the magic which would obviously be number 22 uh obviously Isaac has his limitations offensively but is a great defensive player Cole Anthony uh a good bench scorer uh that is a guard there again I’m going to preface this with I hate all of these trades and they’re not thanks for introducing him but no I look I I get Isaac would be a more versatile defensive minded player you need some size you need some athleticism you need some defense first guys on this roster and Isaac is definitely that uh but he was mostly a bench player for the magic he missed I think as many or near as many games as Bradley Beal and he’s been a lot less healthy than Beal has over the last couple years like if we want to complain about Beal missing games have fun with Jonathan Isaac now uh and Cole Anthony he’s you know he’s a microwave score Off the Bench but he’s not particularly efficient he is younger both of these guys are younger so you’re accomplishing that but this to me feels kind of like you’re attaching the number 22 pick to salary dump Bradley Beal and you’re gonna have to really make up for it in every other move you make the rest of the summer all right so again we’re acting like Brad Beal came to us and said yo I want out trade claw I’m gonna wave it all right I love Brad be bro I love Brad Beal this deal I would not do this one right here will not do we’ll get into some other ones but with respect to the the 22nd pick is why I don’t do this pick this trade right that’s it no no no I’m okay Brad wants to get traded he told me so I’m I’m this is the exercise this is fanty this is fantasy so if Brad came to me and said some somebody just cut that and put it on Twitter already don’t [ __ ] do that man y’all getting us in trouble Man y’all don’t know the smoke we get after the shows man don’t want my DMs blown up bro but but listen so if he if he said I want to go and this was the deal the first thing I know I’m not giving up the 22nd pick and Brad Beal for Cole Anthony and and uh Jonathan is with that said I like both these players though I I do like Jonathan Isaac I’ve always liked Jonathan Isaac uh the poor guy had an injury in the bubble that completely derailed like two three of his next seasons and and like you said he hasn’t been healthy but when I watch Orlando and I watch what Jonathan Isaac brings to the table he’s a role player um but he does a lot of good things man he does a lot of good things defensively he contributes to winning um he there things about his game that I’ve always been fascinated with so I would not mind having Jonathan Isaac on this basketball team and I love Cole I think Cole’s a really good backup guard that brings a little juice and that Orlando team played really well and he played a big role in that so I don’t hate the players I just don’t like the trade for Brad Beal with 2 second pick but we’ll get into some other stuff I don’t hate the players but you hate the game if yeah I hate the game today yeah I’m not a big fan of this trade either um I I agree the draft pick is a little too much but you got to incentivize them somehow some way because they’re taking on a lot of salary for one player and that’s just the the conundrum that Bradley be puts you in Jonathan Isaac is a good player but again for the injury concerns I’m just not there for it at all Cole he’s he’s kind of he’s a little bit better than your average backup point guard but nothing more in my opinion I think he’ll give you some flashes of some really really great outings um but then he’ll counteract those with some just average and sometimes even below average play so I’m not I this does nothing this trade is does nothing for me at all I don’t think this really even improves the Suns dramatically either no I don’t think it improves at all I think they they give up a pick and they it’s basically a salary dump you’re paying Orlando to say hey we know you have cap space give us a couple contracts so you can take Beal’s contract back we’ll throw in a pick like the suns are not there at all you know go ahead sorry like they’re not going to trade anybody in the big three this summer anyway just thr that out there I also want to say this I think people are so over the top hard on Bradley Beal yeah like and that [ __ ] started like month two yeah like because he was injured and just the amount of hate that Bradley Beal has gotten for such a good guy somebody that listen man at least book and KD got 20 games to try and figure [ __ ] out before they got a chance to get into training camp and work together Bradley Beal didn’t Bradley Beal came in straight to training camp trying to figure out a new role got injured sat out for a couple months and was trying to figure it all out man it’s not easy it’s not easy to be surrounded by book and KD as a as a as a primary scorer your whole career and try to figure out how to defer to everybody and make everybody happy because one thing about Bradley be that everybody hates is the fact that he hugs or he daps up uh the opposition when they beat us right like okay but that should also tell you that he’s all about people and he’s all about teammates and he wants to make everybody happy and I think that was part of the problem for him this year is that he was trying to figure out how to make everybody happy and by doing so he sacrificed too much of himself at times and that hurt the Suns and I think everybody hates him for it and I don’t get it I don’t understand it like yeah we we all want him to play better and I think he will but man it took a little bit of time to try and figure that out it’s it’s simple though it’s the it’s the contract number people are looking at that but if the Suns win say five 10 more games right they win 59 they have a decent playoff run everybody’s talking about how great it was that Bradley Beal decided to sacrifice to help this team win he did the little things he’s the guy that that showed this entire team what it means to be a teammate right the The Narrative is completely different on this guy or if he makes 20 million less uh per year the narrative is probably closer to that than what it is right now and for me it’s simple you are not you’re not salary dumping Brad Beal I there in no world doesn’t make sense to salary dump Brad Beal to me especially not right now no uh so are you getting better in the trade is the first question I have to ask whether it’s you’re better because you have more depth uh you know and that is it puts you closer because your window is right now Devin Booker Kevin Durant that’s where you’re tied with these guys right and that’s another year or two uh with those two guys so are you putting yourself in a better P chance to win a title not this doesn’t check any of the boxes for me in anyone I I also think that there’s there’s one other thing that that a lot of people don’t really talk about because they talk about the 50 million in the trade and yes it was smart for the Suns to get rid of Chris Paul’s contract to bring in somebody that on paper at the time we we all thought man I can’t believe we got Bradley Beal he’s he’s he’s an All-Star he’s he was he averaged 30 points a game for like a three-year period like he’s a good scorer like he’s a good player but the problem is is that what we don’t take into account is that this franchise looked at Bradley Beal and if you’re gonna kill Bradley Beal for his role on this team then you got to kill the front office for that too because they didn’t realize that maybe Bradley Beal would not be as good a fit between two similar players off offensively that what than what he brings to the table and so the conversation was obviously at that time was well Point book Point book book will be able to figure it all out like and you put so much on book that it modified his game to a certain degree and like so you threw everything kind of all out of whack but that’s not on Bradley Beal Bradley Beal wanted to come to Phoenix to be a part of a contender cool I don’t hate him for that and it’s not on Bradley Beal that he makes that money no it was offered to him the front office looked at it and said you know what is the best we’re going to get for those guys we’re willing to pay that and we expect him to likely be the third guy in your in your lineup so that I don’t I you can hate on four years 50 50 million a year all you want but like they accepted those terms and that’s where we’re at and I’m I’m fine with that it’s a thin line between love and hate man well it always is and that could that line could swing the other way real quick next season but speaking of love and hate if you if you didn’t love that last one boy do I have a better one for you here same two teams a little bit different uh we’re going to add the 2031 pick along with Bradley Beal in this year’s first round pick to the magic and now you’re getting Jonathan Isaac Cole Anthony and Wendell Carter Jr what say you gentlemen okay I don’t hate this one okay I don’t hate this one mostly because of Wendell Carter yeah um and to go back at code a little bit in the chat earlier he said uh y’all really wouldn’t take Jonathan Isaac to defend against ant in the playoffs and I’m like well nobody’s saying that nobody’s saying that we wouldn’t do that it’s just what you’re having to give up to get a Jonathan Isaac is a little too much and that’s that’s the opinion and I think with this I I think the again the two first round draft picks that’s a lot that’s also a lot um but I do like Wendell Carter’s game I do like uh his versatility I like the fact that he could play power forward and uh can also give you some some minutes at Center like he’s a good player and he’s to me he’s the best one of that three that that Trio yes I get closer with this one this one I’m I’m I’m closer again I don’t want to throw 31 in there and then I’ll be willing to give you 22 yeah I’m not throwing 31 one or the other and I get close I love Wendell Carter I like all three of these Orlando players again I’m not I’m not gonna get caught these guys play roles and they’re needed to win they play roles that are important to winning and so you can look at the stats and you can be one of those guys that says well he this guy only averages seven a game and this guy averages 10 a game that doesn’t always uh add up to how you win in basketball so uh I’m much closer here uh with this deal if you took one pick off I’d seriously consider this Orlando can I say one thing real quick uh yeah and we have people in the chat saying that um you know Orlando wouldn’t do this oh well get ready for the exercise because yeah most teams wouldn’t do this all like most teams the Orlando Magic were very good this season and uh these guys are major reason why they all played Major roles like yeah if you’re Orlando that would make no sense to to do this but what else are we gonna do okay I slightly disagree okay because they strike out on Paul George they strike out on Klay thompon they strike out on these names that they’re supposedly chasing I think they are looking to get that guy that has closer to Star potential than then the necessarily these three guys you think they would do that trade though if with the 2031 pick I think they would consider piece for that team last year if no one takes their money this that that’s what it comes down to they have the money but if no one takes it and they got to get to that floor and this is your way to get in a prime time piece well and they think then you got think about it it can help some of those younger guys that that’s my thing but if you remove one of the picks I don’t care if it’s this year’s or 2031 they tell you to walk at that point too because this is helping you potentially win now and giving you assets to then either get somebody else or or you know have more draft picks in the future I’m sorry real quick I love Paulo banero I love me some Mo Vagner [ __ ] throw Brad bill on that team they man this team’s got some weapons so the idea that Brad Bill can’t go there and Elevate that team in a deal like this that’s also crazy to me like I I’m considering this deal from Orlando man Brad Beal is still a fair very good [ __ ] player especially if he’s not your third option if he goes in and you say Brad man you’re the OG on this team you’re the 30-point scorer go out there be Brad Beal and Paulo banero and these guys are gonna Are Gonna Fill In yeah man uh I I seriously think they’ll consider it more than people think the problem with this deal is that if we’re following the line of thinking maybe they’d consider it if they strike out on PG and clay and all these guys is then the number 22 pick that’s off the table because it’s already been used on a rookie at that point so that would be tough for them after the fact um and I I don’t even know if these picks alone are valuable enough because then like we’ve been talking about with use of nkit Trades if you trade Wendell Carter as Orlando you have a hole at starting center now like you could fill it with Goa baz or morid Vagner but like you need a starting caliber Center so you also have money to still at that you do but you’ve filled up a lot of it with Beal’s contract now cuz I mean some of it like they are sending out some significantly sized contracts but you’re still taking on more money so for me like I don’t see Orlando doing this um and for the Suns like you’re still bringing back three players two of which have significant injury concerns between Wendell and Jonathan Isaac for me personally I would prefer them just keep Bill use that pick this year and keep your 20 31 first rounder for maybe a better deal somewhere else I agree because I don’t think this puts you any closer to a TI in the next two years I think you’ve got a better chance if you keep Beal maybe you get lucky on that draft pick or P package it with somebody else to get in a role player you know how last year we were all sitting here talking about um you know DeAndre Aiden and what it’s G to look like when he’s in vogel’s defensive scheme and then we never saw it right I feel like this would be much of the same like I would I definitely do wonder what Beal’s going to look like under budenholzer versus what we just had and vogle um it would be a shame to trade Beal because you know Beal has it in him to be a good good player if not great uh it’s just we didn’t see it very much this this season and so we’ve been conditioned to think that that’s just who he is from now on but guys can bounce back and especially when they get adjusted to to what’s going on there’s so many things that changeed in such a short amount of time for Bradley Beal like I just think that he gets a raw deal and he wasn’t bad either no he he was like 18 five and four and he was I think he shots a game right career highs in field goal percentage and three-point percentage like he was efficient as hell and he had to adjust more than anybody in terms of his role in terms of not the point guard off ball now I’m on the point guard now I’m guarding Zion and their best backourt player like they had him doing a lot of different things throughout the year so stabilizing his role figuring out how those three fit together and just more time together familiarity those things could all make a massive difference next year I’m I I me saw had a a argument on the phone y’all didn’t we I’ve been talking about because it was a great conversation but that was one of my points I’m saying yo these guys play 40 games together right like there is a world in which these guys get another training camp a new coach a little more continuity a little bit more familiar familiarity uh failure is good in basketball like when you fail you learn lessons you learn okay yo Kev this what you could do better devb this what you could do better Brad you can do better so um we saw a little bit of that with the with the Mavericks right now they’re in the NBA Finals I mean I know was only this 20 30 games but Kyrie and Luca didn’t look good last year and now they’re the best back court to ever [ __ ] best things for sliced bread so give him some time best thing in slice before the finals that’s what I was hearing and is that like Dwayne wankin but uh but yeah so I I I’m not not trading Brad bill for the sake of the exercise we’re going along with this and assuming Brad came and said I want the [ __ ] out of here so we’re playing along but there’s nothing that you’re gonna see today that I’m G to actually say yes to in the real world uh because Brad is not GNA wait to try Claus and I don’t want to lose Brad so Michael Morgan in the chat says why did we trade for him and give up all those young assets we didn’t give up what Young assets it was Chris Paul landre shamut and uh I don’t consider landre shamut young or an asset by the way real quick cod you talking to the wrong dude like Saul he did you hear what he said about he’s in the airport EWR do you know what that is see that’s what I mean you talking to the wrong dude man you in EWR you gotta talk to me bro EWR North airport why is EWR the code for newer care I have no [ __ ] idea get just very military thing I was like I don’t remember is there some military he said I’m in EWR airport with up S and I’m like s I’m like yeah s you anyways uh we’re going to move away from Orlando stop that sh for a second GNA take Flex Zone Flex sham it on this is crazy audio listeners we’ll move away from Orlando for a second uh but this next one has uh the Suns trading Bradley Beal and their 2024 first round pick uh to the Jazz for John Collins and Jordan Clarkson I assume this is also taking in consideration the coyotes being sent uh to that ownership group why why why why do they goty catch trays like that Hur you just screw Utah’s ownership group for stealing our team yeah it’s rough look I this one makes me think if Jordan Clarkson was the guy he was two years ago the way he played last year uh doesn’t interest me as much as the guy we saw a couple couple years ago this does give you a backup guard there that gives you a little bit more bench scoring it does give you a power forward in John Collins but I don’t know again I think at best this is an even move so yeah I’m not I’m not really good on this one I Clarkson was still a 17 points per game scorer last year and so he could help in that regard in terms of giving you some scoring pop off the bench but he doesn’t really address what you need he’s a decent playmaker I didn’t realize he averaged five assists a game so that’s not bad coming off the bench mostly uh but shot 41% overall and 29% from three like that’s just not really going to cut it especially because he’d be on a better team where he’s not going to be taking 15 shots a game like he was in Utah so I do like Collins he gives you some size some athleticism some Rim running but again not addressing your need in terms of a wing defensive stopper or a fivan like he’s more of a four so yeah that pushes KD to the three gives you more size but but that’s kind of it if you think Bradley be’s going to Utah yes that’s the best part about thead family first so it it’s in in Utah oh my gosh all right Le it’s not that’s a hard pass immediately it would be hard to tell him to go up to Utah and just soak it in it’s is crazy what what about Indiana you think you think we trative to Utah or Indiana I do not no damn you I’m ignoring again I’m I’m I’m if he’s on a mission maybe he could go to Utah you know way ain’t no ain’t no way I’m going to play along for the sake of it man listen uh I do like Joan Clarkson I do think that in a situation uh like Phoenix and if they can make the change around the edges and they’re contending for a title at least competing out in the west at a high level Jan Clarkson becomes more valuable um so I I do think he still got some stuff in his games he 31 he is 31 years old 322 yeah just turned 32 yeah Clarkson still got some game in and and I know I will say this I will say this John Collins is a guy yes he is that def he is a guy that this son’s front office has shown tons of interest in in the past I I I I can safely say that so I know they like John Collins so this’s a little interesting but no way Brad going to Utah poor Brad we won’t do that to We Can’t banish him to Utah yeah that’s terrible I mean we can if we think it get better Danny a ain’t taking this trade either he he’s going to want like 18 draft picks that’s what Ang’s been loading up on that stuff and I think that’s the thing too is I think they want to be more competitive because they’re building around Markin and and they like want to take steps forward I think Beal kind of helps you in that regard but they’re not going to take a bad contract just because you throw in a pick or whatever that’s right so you mean 2031 doesn’t get Danny Angel tingly inside probably does but he probably wants one for Collins one for Clarkson he he squeezes every possible draft pick he can out of his players all right well you’ve liked these first ones but now I’ve got the most complex one that we’re going to go over yeah let’s get nuts you want to get nuts all right let’s look at this one it is the uh the Blazers sending out or receiving Bradley Beal Cole Anthony the 2024 first round pick from the Suns a 2025 first round pick from Orlando via Denver the magic get Malcolm Brogden and the Suns get Jeremy Grant Matias thy and a 2024 second round pick that turns into bronny James I added that last uh this is complex I’ll say that for it I mean if you’re the Suns you do it yeah I mean yeah you do this Jeremy Grant like yeah you got you got go ahead you got some good Defenders you you got good versatility like I don’t see anything wrong with that but that ain’t going to happen it ain’t going to happen I I I like again under the Prem that Brad is agreeing to all this [ __ ] I’m with it I want to go to Portland I love Jeremy Grant again another guy that the suns in the front have been fascinated with for some time good Defender can score he’s a 20 what 20 and eight guy 27 right so Jeremy Grant can who um matis styu who was coached by Mike Hopkins right knows his game M zone defense baby let’s lock it in he’s a good Defender outside of that Flex he is he is my bad not Zone Defender I got d a get try get the most out of my zone man he gave book a lot of fits in Philly no he did matis IO can play he he’s a hell of a Defender and I concur uh book that that was a guy that gave book some fits um so you get some you get more defense you get a little bit of offense um Here’s the the the [ __ ] I can’t get around is I don’t know if Portland does this because at that point they’re like back court you like they got they’ll have like six guards between scoot who they just drafted Anthony Simons who’s on a big deal Shaden sharp who they love he throw Brad bill into the mix and then [ __ ] for G shits and giggles you getting Co Anthony too so it would probably be a situation where they’ll accumulate that and then they’ll try to do like ship somebody here there yeah definitely kind of like what they did with Drew Drew yeah yeah I I it’s interesting for me it’s just the right amount of crazy but I I don’t I don’t see it actually happening I I think for the magic like Brogden would be a good pickup because they do need a point guard Marquel folz is a free agent um they don’t have like a floor General and they still needed that guy last year as well um and Brogden is a good two-way player he’d be a vet who can help a younger group kind of take that next step um and it would cost them their six man and a pick from Denver that’s an extra pick it’s top five protected it’ll probably be in the 25 to 30 range upgade like for but you’re right for the Blazers they’re up Grant they’re giv up th um they’re giving up the number 34 pick this year and they’re giving up Brogden like they would have to really want Beal and really want you know to cash in on two or three picks in addition to that I feel like they’re a team that like we know we’re bad we’re know it’s going to take some time with this youth movement but like we’re trying to take steps forward so this to me I don’t know if this would feel like a step forward as much as yeah we’ll take Beal’s contract as long as you just throw a heap of picks at us I feel like Orlando says yes the Suns probably say yes and yeah or and the Blazers probably say no but I think it’s kind of funny because the Blazers fans feel about Jeremy Grant the way we feel about Brad be well this guy’s getting too much money and not being the guy we thought he was and then it’s a lot of money he’s still got four years and it’s like 30 million a season so it is a lot of money for Grant and I like Grant too he’s a great two-way player he was a 20 points per game score the last couple years spent the last few years working on his offensive game uh decent three-point shooter as well then you have your wing stopper there but I for me I still feel like you might just be better off keeping Beal in your picks than doing yep well welcome that was our trip to Fantasy Land thank you for joining us and we do have a more crazy 14 trade in the article that I wrote at go phx.com go read it that one’s B [ __ ] insane and I kind of like it the most because it does involve a trade destination that we know that Bradley Beal wanted to go to and might wave his no trade I don’t think I’m interested y better go read that no I think the one involving Ben Simmons was probably the one I wanted to put wor in a straight jacket for so so thanks for joining us in fantasy land if you want to see more of it go to go phx.com uh now we return to the world where Bradley Beal won’t turn down pH next with One X not three depends on the music you’re listening to according to D so and with that being said I don’t know where I was going uh after that so uh you know what too late uh we talked about the worst draft picks in Suns history now it is uh tiering Tuesday and we are going to tier the best Suns draft picks uh in history we’ve got our franchise altering pick home run sleeper standout above average and good enough okay uh you know what let’s start with uh the Oklahoma kid Alvin Adams where would you rank Alvin Adams top tier franchise altering pick no question I agree Rookie of the Year part of that 75 76 uh Team uh is still towards the top of numerous categories I am 100% in that franchise altering pick that’s easy one easy and one of the few guys who has spent their entire career in Phoenix honly still still works for the organization runs the facilities there he’s literally been a son his entire professional career great guy he got suned fantastic yeah and I love you know when Shaq broke uh broke the hoop in ’92 yeah Alvin Adams was a guy that had to figure out how to fix that really really is that right that was part of his duty as facility manager let’s take a look uh who we let’s go with uh I’m gonna go cam Johnson let’s take a look oh now you chose violence okay I I got to start early with the violence here okay I know where Gerald’s going to put this guy I don’t know I’m somewhere between above average and sleeper standout because I I do think I think for cam like he was a very good pick that a lot of us were like why did they pick this guy so high they could have traded back and gotten him later uh he wound up being pretty close to where he should have been drafted in terms of value so I’m between those two probably if you redid that draft actually goes higher I think but on the night of we were we were all everybody was going crazy we all were shot everybody was going crazy I like Jarett Culver and they drafted him and then I was like oh they’re trading back and I was like okay maybe they’ll get Brandon Clark and then they were like cam Johnson I was like you could have had him in the 20s out worked out it all worked out although I I I I will say this I was told that night Detroit at 15 okay I was told that night that Detroit at 15 it was a source that told him that if he the sons didn’t take him 11 Detroit was going to take him 15 interesting so that kind of swayed their decision a little bit but I’m I’m with you I I I’m in that third category uh sleeper standout yeah I would say I would say that I say above average but I’ll give you guys sleeper standout there I think I thought Gerald was going much higher for him oh no hold on to say how did Marchin Gortat I was GNA say that what the hell is he doing his his ass don’t get picked all right I love Marchin damn but you no slide him down all right uh let’s take a look at Michael Finley this is another one that uh that I think is an interesting name playy year and a half here was part of the deal that brought Jason kid to the valley uh and I I think if you put cam Johnson at sleeper standout Michael Finley’s got to at least be there I got him as a home run I I got I got Michael Finley as a home run and again this the whole context behind it he was a rookie of the Year candidate the year that he was with us he followed up the following year and got us the best point guard in all of basketball at that time uh arguably in Jason kid first battle Hall of Famer there was another guy in that deal that turned out all right too who Steve Nash in what deal the kid deal wasn’t he no no no no no no this was Michael Finley saying this was Michael got traed for the Rockets yes no Steve Nash went to Dallas first Steve Nash got traded to Dallas and then came back as a free agent it wasn’t the Finley deal that Nash was ined Michel Finley Sam Cassell Sam Cassell AC Green AC Green to Dallas J Cassell was the point all right but later but he didn’t want to be here Sam C [ __ ] hated being here um so I I again because of huh damn go ahead oh No Just and and and then when you look at what I guess this is the way I’m judging it when you look at what that player actually did with his career this guy was an Allstar Michael Finley was terrific I mean they were knocking on Championship door him and Dirk and and Nash um eventually so I love Michael Finley so I think that’s a home run pick based on what ended up happening I think it’s a sleeper standout okay uh because he’s like the only one from Wisconsin to ever do anything in the NBA so um yeah I think he’s a sleeper standout because he had a really good year I think he had he had a couple gamewinners for the Suns too like tip dunk tip dunk freak yeah he was he was solid I love him I probably had sleeper standout I think that’s really good pick for the 21st pick and like you said being part of that deal that he was a part of I do have to like just naturally kind of dock him a little bit because he was only technically one year for us the pick itself was really good but he was only here for a year um two-time All-Star NBA champ in’ 07 so I would probably go sleep or stand out for me yeah I agree I I’m I’m out done that’s fair Cedric sabalos second round pick for the Suns turned into quite the player where you put him on the list sleep oh go ah man I want to say like above average PR maybe sleeper stand out I could give you that I I’ll I’ll put him in sleeper standout I actually thought it was a home run that was where I was too bab like Michael finy I mean for as deep in the draft that they got him and for the production that he got I mean man he was he was fantastic fantastic and you know garbage man yeah absolutely it was unfortunate that he got injured um during his time here uh because man you could you could make the argument that they could have won a championship probably if you didn’t get hurt and so when you can say that about one particular player I think that that separates him a little bit from most so I would put him in that second category I’m okay with you know what I just warmed up to it bro I was gonna go sleep a stand out but when you the way you so eloquently broke that down brother I appreciate that I’m I’m going to go home run because I I remember what I felt when said broke his foot against the Sonics in game six I remember feeling like I’m in trouble and there was another little sneaky thing Michael Jordan actually had a book um it was Michael Jordan somebody I forget who wrote it but it was like Michael Jordan’s all underrated flight team or something like that and he started naming players around the league he named 10 dudes that like yo y’all don’t get these dudes enough love but I play them every day and these guys are dogs and said was in that list Michael Jordan was like man set sa BS is on my my underrated list so yeah um Jordan said that that team that son’s team without Cedric zalis was already the toughest of the six that they had to go against say so just imagine if they had said man yeah home run said for 4 48 is really great I put him at home run the only reason I considered sleeper standout is because he agreed to be on Darth voa’s podcast last night yeah that shows poor judgment absolutely we a get set on well I could get set on get set on I did I did one with recently by the way shout out said man yo Warren G him and Warren G dropping Jews you remember that the rap ALB yeah man he tried he he thought I was lying we did a show and I’m like bro I was bumping that he’s like Flex you’re lying I’m G send you a check what’s the song called I I can’t remember but I oh man I remember I remember can’t remember the exact name of song but I remember yeah the yeah and also best uh in Arena MC the thing bad I mean it’s a l bar but I love be why you lindsy like that oh he wasn’t in Arena MC was for the SS oh you’re right other places that she was St some trouble here uh gor drage second round pick for the Suns uh a a unique guy they hid that he worked out here in his pre-draft because they didn’t want him winding up on other people’s Radars uh technically the Spurs took him for the Suns which means they stole a talented guy from the Spurs where do you where do you put him so we’re because we have a couple of guys that like we drafted they left and then they came back we’re including the part when they came back as kind of laying ground by draft course as long as they were drafted by us then you just take their whole career then I would go sleeper stand out if it wasn’t including the second stint around I’d go above average but I mean he won them a playoff game against the Spurs in that first in like off Team all NBA and most improved player was season as well that’s pretty good value for where he was picked yeah because of the value I mean I it’d be I’d be a hypocrite if I didn’t say home run just like said because this guy made all NBA this guy was most improved player um help you get pass the Spurs helped us beat the Spurs and had that memorable like 23 Point third quarter right crazy um so again like when you look at the value and how far in the second round when you get I listen I go on to say any [ __ ] guy who gets drafted in the NBA second round and makes all NBA at any point in his career that’s a home run to me am I tripping no no I don’t think so I had him at above average um I I I he’s a very very good player um he had a couple moments for the Suns but I just didn’t think he had the impact as a sun um as some of the other guys did so that’s kind of where I’m at he he also drug a team that was supposed to be completely tanking and yeah basically set up the roster from Major League uh and drove him to 48 wins and almost the playoffs yeah that’s true I’d put him in home run but I think it averages out in sleeper stand out when considered the way we all uh three home runs right did we say three home runs three home runs got go home I had said sleep or stand out I I’m I’m cool with home run for him I think that’s SM and super nice guy so Johan Maran number nine come on do we even got number one on the list so far I think so as well hell of a uh so dein Booker is he just as easy have a new number one on uh Dan Marley I don’t think he’s gonna wind up in that franchise altering pick uh but where would you put him home run for me I would say home run yeah easy home run one right there that’s great value for and I would put him as number one on the Home Run list there we go yeah I agree yeah I think you know you also if they hadn’t dealt him for Hot Rod I think your window have been a little bit longer with with Barkley there before he asked out too because that was in their infinite Chase for a center so I I think they may have even undervalued his importance at that point when they sent him to Cleveland so hot R Williams jez bro uh he almost got traded for Pippen too sure did I mean that one I that that that NBA altering trade won a championship they did that yeah because then PPP then when Jordan comes back yeah he doesn’t have PPP in that’s right that was allar weekend in Phoenix by I know I remember that remember we had just lost Danny Manning right P ACL and he was like yo we’re going to get Scotty pip and i’ms but you can get hot rod Williams you gotta do it right uh Larry Nance let’s take a look at Larry Nance uh 20th pick overall I believe Larry n home run was yeah I mean hell of a player I I had him sleeper stand out uh if you looking at Sons if you include his whole career what he did in Cleveland and who you got from Cleveland by dealing him yeah that’s what I’m saying that’s why I think it’s I’m on home run I could make a case for franchise altering but it’s because of what you said it’s because of you that deal led to Kevin Johnson Dan Marley Mark West right and that changed the dynamic of our fans just forever so and I can make an argument for but I’m cool with hom R yeah I’d go the same yeah cool breezing through this let’s go baby I like this I’m trying to decide there’s a nuclear option here that wait where we’re yeah no I think I think Marley I think I would be I think Marley second yeah that makes sense do we want to go to the nuclear option let’s do it [ __ ] DeAndre eight where are we ranking this draft pick I think this is gonna this is going to run the gamut here so go ahead um you can’t put him at sleeper standout because he wasn’t a sleeper no not sleep not as the number one overall pick nope you can’t put him at franchise altering pick because we’re trying to go positive with this so I I gotta see the [ __ ] tears Eric I don’t have a memorized damn it all right um I would say above average I would say above average uh the only reason why you knock him down is because he’s the number one overall pick but he did produce he averaged double double he was a very good player he just wasn’t everything that you hoped he would be and he’s going to get knocked down because Luca was out there and we didn’t take LCA so that is not what I expected from what you think I was gonna say I thought you were gonna go at least a a home run in terms of your argument last week on his impact on getting to the finals and everything I thought I thought you might be a little higher I’m actually very impressed with uh with the I think above average is good because I don’t think good enough is man disect he was he was better than good enough see see now now I’m about to change my [ __ ] upal just can’t let it go man we literally we had the poll on this we had him at the very top of our franchise altering mistakes how are we going to put him anywhere but dead last on this list I wouldn’t put I I didn’t that’s why I would I wouldn’t put man you don’t think that he was one of the better draft picks that the sons have had first off I I’m I’m grading on a curve because the number one pick if you don’t I mean that that in and of itself usually means you’re going to figure out how to get some Talent right how many okay but if you look at some of those drafts there weren’t a lot of guys like I I I he pays the number one pick tax for me if he was the third pick in that draft I I probably say he’s in that the top one of the top three tiers there with what he did but he was the number one pick you got to look at what you didn’t get because you made the decision uh the fact that he people questioned his attitude his approach uh and then you got to a point where it wasn’t it was such an untenable situation that you had to deal him away yeah like I wouldn’t even have him on the list if I were were looking at it I admit I’m okay so first of all like I think this is where the phrasing of Da gets really skewed in my opinion like just based off of what you said okay is that you said uh uh damn it what was the word you just used unable untenable right like you that would lead you to believe that he gave you Marie Morris and Marcus Morris Vibes like he was just a [ __ ] cancer no matter what like did he have could he not get out of his own head and do certain things sure you can make that argument all day and I I I’m I’m here for it I hear you but I don’t think that he was a cancer in the same vein as those other guys in terms of just being a destructive force behind the scenes and trying to tear people that’s just not who da is I’m not saying cancer untenable can just simply mean the relationship got to a point where neither side thought it was best to continue going that way because it wasn’t in their best interest the Suns obviously decided that you got the feeling that da was getting close to that point because he wanted to prove himself I don’t think that means that he was an [ __ ] or a cancer I just think they got to a point where the relationship couldn’t sustain the way but I also think that there’s something to be said about role and fit in terms of where he when he was drafted and what role they were asking him to play and in that regard he played his role right like he was he was a starting center he averaged a double double 18 and 10 like he was and he got you to the NBA finals and and being a a pretty core piece of that run like I don’t think that’s just good enough I think that’s better than good enough I don’t know how can he be you’re you’re but how can he be and I know you didn’t vote him here but we came to a consensus in the chat agreed that he was one of the worst draft picks only because of Luca but you have to take that into consideration when you’re talking about best draft Pi but you’re talking about best draft none of these guys that we brought up are we talking about anybody that got drafted outside of them but none of them were number one and the fact that when you go number one there expectations with it there are things that you’re supposed to do and he didn’t do those that’s why I would not and you know what you could had that’s why I wouldn’t put him on the list you can’t say he was the worst and that he deserved to be one of the best say he was the worst so I did and I can’t so I can’t justify even saying he should be on this I’m I can’t imagine that we’re seeing DeAndre Eden is one of the worst dra no no guys guys I am seriously torn here and and I’m I’m a prisoner of the way we have this worded I I really am okay and I’ll tell you why you definitely can’t be franchise altering right we we’ll get off of there because of the way things worked out he’s not a home run um you can’t call him a sleeper cuz he’s the [ __ ] first pick overall n but I for sure this is where my problem is there’s no [ __ ] way that I’m going to agree with DeAndre Aon being lower than cam Johnson if Cam Johnson is sleeper but it’s it’s value and expectation you have to take those into account I’m making him pay the tax he already paid the tax but I can’t look at this list and say that I got cam Johnson in a third tier and DeAndre Aon wasn’t as valuable to that team and everything that we did that’s but that’s not what we’re talking about we’re talking about like best draft picks which takes into account where you were drafted like cam Johnson at number 11 Great Value d da at number one not as good value only because da is a prisoner of being one of the greatest drafts ever but that’s part I don’t even know if that’s true though because even even if like the guy behind him or a couple guys behind him weren’t like generational Superstars you still picked a guy who within five years of drafting him as the number one pick the only time you ever had that pick is gone and it’s and like didn’t accomplish anything here they went to a finals cool they didn’t he didn’t make any All-Star games didn’t make any all defensive teams like it was It was supposed to that’s not a number one pick that’s a bad pick so good enough honestly in my book is generous if we’re talking about best draft picks he was the wrong pick he wasn’t a good pick like if he was the first pick if he was the first overall pick and he the [ __ ] played out like Anthony Bennett he got no business even being T but it wasn’t that but he he wasand you would be led to believe that DeAndre Aiden was one of the worst number one picks of all like was Wiggins a great first round pick Andrew Wiggins but you can’t judge a draft just saying no but nobody in Minnesota would put him a on their list of best draft picks the thing to me is you are a prisoner of the draft you’re in right because okay sure if he was drafted the year Alex Len was drafted and he was drafted number one it looks different but he’s still not a an Allstar a first team all NBA guy like there are things with a number one pick that you have to reach to be considered a really good pick like not even a great pick like you’re supposed to help change a franchise when you’re taking number one in a significant way but is that his fault or franchisees for it doesn’t matter no no it do matter because DeAndre I’m not ranking DeAndre in the person I’m not ranking DeAndre anything other than the sons picked him number one no but that’s not his that’s like blaming Brad be for making 50 milon we just had that argument I’m not blaming Brad if I’m ranging the best contracts in son’s history Bradley be the Leist we’re blaming Deandre because the Suns weren’t smart enough to know that Luca was the right ranking the Suns ranking they were ranking Sons picks I’m not saying I’m not saying DeAndre aon’s an [ __ ] I’m not saying DeAndre aon’s a bad father I’m not saying DeAndre Aon is a human in the world like I’m not saying that I’m just saying he was a bad Pi I listen I I’m gonna say this I think he falls into the same category with Cam Johnson y’all can disagree with me that’s where I would put him I would put him in sleeper stand out and I hate the wording because he’s not a [ __ ] sleeper and I think there were times where he was a stand out I think there were performances and times like guys I swear if we just win two more [ __ ] games this is a whole different conversation right but we didn’t we did but was that all his fault okay so if he was drafted the year Anthony Bennett was drafted and they W and they won two more games in the finals we’d say he’s a great you no no but you know what this is like this is like saying that this is the argument that hakeim elijuan never won and so you didn’t take Michael Jordan so hakeim elijan was a bad [ __ ] was an MVP he was a defensive player I get that but what you’re saying allar comparison hold Zero Water because Accolade not even close to what are we doing here this gu Haron holds no water but LCA is not close to either he’s a lot closer to Jordan than get the hell out of here no way nope no Milli hold hold da is gonna be lucky to make one All-Star game before his time is done oh my God all right so G let me ask come on I get what you’re saying about Lan that was just me that was the hope but that that hope of that comparison holding up never happened because da never if he did win those extra two games validated but they didn’t so it doesn’t matter matter they didn’t win okay all right this was I love this I I love this passion title is the only thing that would have Vindicated them for picking da over Luca they fell short da is not here anymore bad pick what if Luca never wins still gonna be one of the all-time great look because DeAndre Aon okay Luca donic is a significantly better player than DeAndre Aton different players though they are different players one place Center one place point guard yeah I get that but I no can I not just admit that like we have admitted that we have admitted that but to say that he’s one of the worst draft picks of all time’s not he’s on our best draft pick list I think you didn’t even want him on there I don’t you said it so we’re already giving you leeway oh my God above average and let’s move the hell on we still got more guys to talk about Walter Davis uh franchise altering the Year good two uh I put him behind Shawn Maran probably Steve Nash sleeper standout let’s move on now Steve Nash a franchise altering right behind oh whoa behind in front of whoa in front of Steve Nash would walk in this room and tell yall y’all are [ __ ] crazy if you think I’m de better than de two time MVP about hold up hold up hold up y’all got to let me talk got to let me talk I love Booker you got to let me talk you got to let me talk I love Steve Nash but Steve Nash won two MVPs averaging 15 points a game it was circumstantial he was not the best player in the league either year he changed the game what are we talking about here you don’t have the Warriors without Steve [ __ ] Nash oh my God said you would yell oh my god listen to me listen to me listen to me listen to me listen to me did you fall on your head today I love listen Devin Booker when he’s done is going to have every [ __ ] possible record in Phoenix Sun’s franchise history he’s gonna have a statue outside sorry he’s gonna have a statue outside dog we’re talking about two MVPs I get it two M so is Dereck Rose he won an MVP what are we talking about D St Steve NPS don’t two time MVP second second and assist all time in the league he is a guy who changed the way how many finals he been through okay how many finals he made hold on how on I’m gonna say something controversial yet Brave go ahead these two you can’t go wrong with either one I think I personally would give the edge to Nash just right now right now because dein Booker career is not over yes and because Nash was Tak two Pi after where book was taken and that that is the only reason I can with that I’m not argue I can I don’t have a problem with either one because at the end of the day you’re probably gonna be right yes but right now and and this the other thing is this okay you have to look at Steve Nash’s impact in the NBA I agree with that and without without 7 seconds or less some of the advances in the offensive systems that we see in the league don’t happen and that affected the entire league to the point where today we have a goddamn three-point shooting barrage every [ __ ] night that started with that [ __ ] team so just on that argument I no listen I am not gonna sit here no no no no I am not gonna sit here and and argue and go at my guy Steve I’m not gonna do that I respect Steve no no I didn’t disrespect him I’mma tell y’all something listen I’m G tell y something that I would never I wouldn’t say this on camera Steve Nash I have an incident Steve Nash said Devin Booker is a hundred times better than I ever will be from his [ __ ] mouth so that’s why I’m feeling the way I’m feeling Steve Nash wouldn’t walk on stage if he saw the Steve Nash would be like y’all are [ __ ] crazy I I had a great season but there’s no way I’m a better basketball player I’m saying I’m taking his words but Steve Nash is a very humble dude holy [ __ ] are you Am I Wrong Am I Wrong holy [ __ ] are you are WR Steve’s a great wrong no you’re not wrong he’s very he’s a lot of humility he would say that about everything right he could be [ __ ] 55,000 times better than an eighth grader and he would say man that eighth grader is going to be better than me I’m not saying that that’s what he’s saying about book I’m just saying that you can’t really take that for granted because what he’s doing right now is he’s saying that this dude’s the future he is better than me athletically skillfully yeah but right now when we’re talking about his the the things that he’s accomplished in the league the things that he impacted in the NBA I got one last thing I got to say this the impact the impact that Steve Nash had [ __ ] love this the impact that Steve Nash had is going to be far greater than Devin Booker unless Devon Booker does something that we’ve never seen before I agree I’m gonna throw one caveat out there okay that same Steve Nash that won backto back MVPs no we’re about to disc discredit no no I’m not discrediting was not that Steve Nash a year or two earlier in Dallas couldn’t couldn’t get it done and the owner of the Dallas matter said I don’t believe that you’re that good I’m let me finish his back no right so no he said he said he said I’m your back is injured you’ve been here you haven’t been able to win I don’t know that I want to give this type of money to you go to Phoenix I believe Steve Nash changed basketball forever but Steve Nash doesn’t change basketball forever if Mike [ __ ] dant Tony doesn’t put him in that system to do that so if you’re gonna give Steve Nash all this love then we better [ __ ] put up a list and make Dan Tony one of the top five greatest coaches ever if this is the argument if he change if Steve lash changed the game forever because of that team then [ __ ] Mike Danton is the greatest hold can I add a caveat here go ahead how many back surgeries have you had three okay your back and Steve Nash’s back look alike how many MVPs did you win after you Hur your back big [ __ ] zero also also I get the coaching aspect of that I do but also it’s a choice he was a free agent he didn’t have to come to Phoenix he wanted to come to Phoenix he wanted to team team up with Dan Tony everything worked out the right way again he’s not the first Superstar to ever team up with a coach that found a system that was ideal for that player Jordan K Shaq like the whole nine yards like every damn near every player has had a good coach that found a way to utilize their skills the best so there you go all right I love it God bless you Steve Nash we were just talking about before the show starts man we need to have some passionate arguments and we I was like we don’t have any topics to talk about that all right I’m I’mma pull the pin and I’m G throw another another draft grenade Mel bridg let’s go I’ll let y’all I yeah y’all go ahead and hand this yeah I would say just because Shay was right behind him I’d go above average and you had the deal done to get to draft [ __ ] man for I’d put him in sleeper stand out put sleeper stand out I’ll put I’ll put him where Cam that’s what I’m because I think when M Bridges got drafted I think there was there was other guys on the board that I think a lot of us assumed that they were gonna go after and so when male got drafted I think everybody was like um yeah I don’t know about this you know I thought and then he shocked everybody and so I I loved that they traded up for him I they were originally gonna take I think Devan chenzo uh and then they wound up I think the pick that used to be their pick was z z Smith Smith yeah that that’s a much betteri who we can just put Amari straight to the just go above or behind Maran I put him behind Maran you put him behind Maran I would too yeah I would too Mar Marian didn’t I’m with that okay I’m with that cool cool with that all right uh we’ll go Jeff hornek next and I think this will probably be our last because I’m looking at the rest of the guys I’m like you put them all in good enough Horn’s a home run to me yeah I and he got overall pick was unbelievable on those cotton Express I think he’s right behind Goron I think he’s ahead of Gordon I I think he’s head of gor sure I think he’s ahead of set head of said too I I I think so yeah yeah I think that’s probably it why can’t we do these last few guys go let’s Richard dumus Rich do good enough or sad disappointment but we don’t have that uh Steve cerr good enough I’m gonna say above average based on what his career was but you can argue I would go good enough I put good enough all right good enough uh apparently Rings don’t matter behind Dumis uh yeah Wesley Person above average above average that’s good uh Leandro Barbosa oh my God sleeper stand out sleeper stand out probably the probably a top dude or second dude I think the top dud to dud right won six man a year I mean he was [ __ ] good there is your God we we always wind up making these brutal uh franchise altering picks were Nash Booker Maran Amari Walter Davis and Alvin Adams home run were Dan Marley Larry Nance Jeff hornek Cedric sabalos and gor dragic sleeper standouts were Leandro Barbosa although I’ve never seen him wear a headband like he is in that photo I thought that was [ __ ] it mention it but I’m like that’s Queen rich oh [ __ ] sleep stand outs are Barbosa we think it little bow like Mike Mel Bridges cam Johnson and Michael Finley above average were DeAndre Aon and Wesley Person and good enough were Richard Dumis and Steve cerr that is our show for the day Eli said that uh Flex broke uh broke Saul there for a second I to just kick a hole through this [ __ ] TV I can’t believe our conversation about da wasn’t what set him off the most it was about stepen Ash and Deon Booker I was imp you know I was very impressed with your approach to to the DA thing I didn’t think that’s where it was gonna go I mean some of us can be reasonable on this panel I can be reasonable too if I said he was that bad I can’t say he was that good thank you for acknowledging that Gerald you can follow Matt jro Borg you can follow Flex at Flex from Jersey you can follow Saul at saulor Bookman the underscores there to fit all that passion that he has for son’s draft piics fit this fist you oh no the show at PHX Suns you can follow me at espo and remember some people just aren’t good enough man we all s like the mayor
