What a time that was, and the year before the Avs won the Stanley Cup. I miss that magic feeling.

Three months prior this game I bought tickets to Thrice’s 20th Anniversary tour. I was super stoked to go to this show where they were playing one of my favorite albums from start to finish. I’m also super stoked because my Nuggets are in first place and just cruising.
NBA releases the Finals schedule and I can see Game 5 is the same night as Thrice. I’m panicked. I’m freaking out. I’m praying for a sweep.
Heat win game 2 and I’m cursing. Now I’m hoping the Heat can take game 3 or 4. Nuggs win both. Fuck.
I make the tough decision between my concert and my Nuggets and decide to just give the tickets away. Except all my friends hate Thrice and don’t want to go.
So just give them away on reddit, right. WRONG. This was also the week where reddit changed their API and every subreddit mod shit themselves and locked it down.
I ate the cost of two tix that night to watch the Nuggets win their first title. I made the right choice but I’ll never get to see Thrice play my favorite album live. Bittersweet for sure.

but its too bad you can’t tell they were champions in 2023 when you go around the Denver area, as a new COdian, it’s really depressing the lack of public support they get because they had a great run that year and have some really great players
