if it was you know what at first I expected him to play because you know how when players get injured during the season and they be like well if it was the playoffs I’ll play this is the finals but and then I hear coach Missoula say we’re not going to leave this in your hands we’re going to leave this in the medical staff hands he did say that but I I think if it was up to porzingis he would play but I think since they’re goingon to leave it in a medical staff’s hands we’ll probably see him sit out one game but check this out when porzingis misses games we’re nine and one in the playoffs regular season 21-4 that makes us 30 and five without porzingis am I worried a little bit a little bit a little bit I hear a little worried a little bit because he just add such a dimension that we don’t have did he not change game one in Boston yeah he definitely changed game one he came in and was impactful on his minutes in game two y but in saying that the Celtics are comfortable without him on the lineup skip I mean they’ played a lot a portion of the Season without him they played most of the playoffs without him it’s not a demoralizing blow you know like when when KD went down in the finals that could demoralize you you you sit there like oh my goodness but they like porzingis went down they like we got this okay we we’re used to playing without them we we know how to take care of business that means that 38y old Horford in year 17 finishing up his 17th year in this league has to maybe play 40 odd minutes tonight that means your Sixth Man is now little tiny pton Pritchard we can go small we got we got we got we got player we got who else you got Hower Dylan Dylan we can throw in there spot minutes you got to understand you act like porzingis was playing a lot of minutes played close to 20 minutes yeah we got players that could take up there you you like Al Horford playing 40 well if he has to Hey listen this is the finals it is this is the this is it yeah at maximum there’s five games left you know these guys are saying listen we didn’t play 82 games in the regular season we didn’t already played what 12 2 14 17 game eight 16 games in the uh in the playoffs man we got five games left fellas we in the locker room like listen I need everything you got right now leave it on the table let’s go that’s it this is the end of the season this is where we want to be this is what we work for so if H Horford has to play 40 plus minutes for the next three or four games we going to do it three or four I’m just saying at Max wait wait a second no no we said there’s max four I’m all the way up to six Max that’s Max that’s Max okay you know what I’m saying so we not worried about that so I’m confident in the Celtics playing better Jason Tatum I think he’ll play better but I think Dallas will play better but like I said they’re comfortable without porzingis this is not a shock like oh we lost our like if Dallas loses let’s say Lively that’ll hurt them tremendously it would if they leave it’ll hurt them trem like somebody like that you know what I’m saying so we’re good without playing with Pingas and don’t let us get tonight cuz I got that seat for you skip you know where that seat going to be at yeah up front front row really matter fact I’m let I’m going let you sit right I’m I’mma drive it I’m going let you sit right next to me um so I assuming you’re still picking Boston to win tonight in a close game okay I think it’s going to come down to the last few possessions and we’re going to see both teams have played well down the stretch making clutch plays okay Jason Tatum makes a couple of big clutch shots to end it or he makes a dribble penetration drive and finds Derek white in the corner or maybe Drew holiday oh I mean see the beauty that’s the yeah Finals MVP that’s listen that’s the beauty of this team is like on Dallas you know they’re going to Luca down the stretch and if Kyrie gets it after Luca touches it you’re confident in that yeah in Boston I don’t care if Brown takes a shot I’m confident if Tatum takes a shot I’m comfortable if white takes the shot I’m we got four nuclear weapons down the stretch in clutch moments and so I like Celtics tonight in a close game I think they win going away with you know maybe a dagger shot from our boy Drew holiday maybe or Derek white or I mean it’s just we got options what I’m saying L options I give you that no yeah yeah you got a lot of options jack of all trades master of none you ever heard that oh yeah I use it all the time skip um Dr Johnson diagnosed porzingis as questionable but based on the movement that I’ve seen on the video clips that I’ve seen seems fine to me anytime you see a athlete walking around in a normal State there’s no limping there’s no Hing he just he laughing he talking he walking normal feels like he’s going to play look at that yeah but if he doesn’t play they still going to win and if he plays they still gonna win tonight that’s just the way that I see it skip the the interesting thing about having him in the lineup it allows for them to be stronger inside the paint it allows for them defensively when Kyrie slips past them to get into that Kyrie area of the paint or the elbow whatever all of a sudden you make him change his approach to how to shoot the basketball you also do the same thing with Luca it it’s just his his body of work on the defensive end is just one of those things he’s so damn big long and Tall the trajectory of one shot changes so having him in the lineup versus a what is he 30 39 year old Al Harford 38 year old Al Harford it’s not that Al can’t do the job it’s just a different approach you know what I’m saying it’s a little bit different for them but I think he can still play the 40 minutes he can still give them because he’s been doing it all year long for the most part and throughout the playoffs giving them you know hustle minutes and giving them some things but having porzingis on the floor even as a cardboard cutout still affects what you do offensively if you the mask now Kyrie it’s important for Kyrie to get off tonight clearly but if PO zingis is in that lineup offensively he creates problems because he gets to his spots he can score from pretty much anywhere on the floor because nobody’s as tall as him Lively is not as experienced as him might be as long as him but not as experienced as him and then you bring him out there out bring him out of the paint now you could do all sorts of things if they decide Okay g for the live come on out here with porzingis now you got Tatum and brown and everybody else getting to their buckets and getting to their spots that’s why I feel like he’s going to wind up playing because of the importance of this game you don’t want Dallas I don’t want to call it stealing but winning the game and now I’ll give you stealing the way it feels so far this would be a steal by the Maverick I don’t know home steel okay you want to call it a home steel you don’t want them stealing the game skip because now it’s 2-1 mhm okay now they got another game at home now you you still a second one it’s 22 so it’s important as Paul said with his pregame 9 minute speech a minute ago about all hands on deck everybody got to come to the party we got five games Max left if you can go you can go period we’re not worried about what’s getting ready to rip off the bone and all that we trying to close this thing and get done get it over with so we don’t have to get back on the plane back to Bost that 22 tonight is important for both teams yeah it literally is important for both teams all right here’s what I know about porzingis so far through two games when he has been on the floor he has been a plus 25 that’s that’s really good plus 25 when he’s been off the floor when he’s been off the floor your team is even so the game has been dead even without porzingis on the floor because he has made a literally huge at 7t whatever he is I see three I see four I don’t know what he is 73 really tall he is really really really tall okay so what do I know about this injury first of all I was shocked at the detail that Boston put out there about this injury because to your point you could have just called it an ankle injury or a lower leg injury and nobody would have cared but it is on the opposite leg from the calf pull and you can’t tell me that they were unrelated because when you got a C pull it’s so naggingly scary bad that you you start to load up more on the other side and he is so tall and and there are so many pounds pushing down on the wrong leg he hurt it though it was the mid third quarter the other night fa I I don’t know exactly what movement caused it but but he continued to try to limp through it for the rest of the game then with four minutes left they took him back out okay so for those who don’t get this the retinaculum is the sheath around the the tibialis tendon that goes down into your foot it’s just the sheath it goes up and down through a sheath right and the sheath is torn so all of a sudden the tendon starts to get a little loose because it doesn’t have a Runway to keep going back down into the bottom of the foot and the tibialis tendon is crucial to the flexing of your foot you know all the movement of your foot it if it if it goes off course it starts to mess up everything in your foot okay vanderville education know it need to be the physical for the Celtics right now listen it can be bad the only time I ever heard of this Brook Lopez had it 10 years ago and he tried to play on it and the first night he went out he tore it worse and it required surgery to fix and it’s not a huge serious big surgery but it did require surgery and it did knock him out for the rest of the year so you you’re I I don’t I hate I’m knocking on wood to even bring this up because I don’t even like to talk about this stuff but remember what Kevin Durant did in the finals he he had a calf pull it affects the whole Achilles tendon and and they said if you want to give it a shot give it a shot and he says well I’m not quite right and he goes out and the Achilles tears well that’s the worst case scenario and I don’t want to see poor zingis go out and tear this but but there is some risk and to what you said about Joe Missoula he said this is not going to be his choice it’s going to be the medical staff’s choice but they said he did practice yesterday and to your point did move move around okay on it he he was Ginger on it but he was moving around okay and he’s not limping when he walks so do I think he will give it a shot tonight I think he will oh if that happens yall in trouble big trouble yeah you said plus 22 right five 25 25 what’s the difference even without him okay so that mean okay to your point what are you in the playoffs without porzingis one okay was that against Dallas no that was not against Dallas because it was against Indiana you know a couple times without their best player and it was against Cleveland a couple times without their best players and it was against Miami without their best players okay so I I I throw that out the window I I don’t think that nine and one works because I think against this team against Lively against Gafford against PJ Washington you need a dose of porzingis because he tilts it in your favor right no not listen we had more trouble with Miami in the first two games we had more trouble with Cleveland in the first first two games I I don’t remember any trouble at all but we lost game two we lost game two both those series but I I was just like and we had more trouble think about the series going back toel back to Cleveland after Donovan Mitchell had that hell of a game in game look they like Celtics lost game two of the first two rounds right in the Conference Finals they they probably should have lost game one yeah they should have lost game three I’m not seeing that with Dallas we having more trouble with these other teams yeah all right than we are with Dallas so far Dallas supposed to have these nuclear weapons and y’all don’t want to say that not me and and you know their bench is better they’re deeper and then they got The Reincarnation of Vinnie Johnson so so so to so to say all the B what’s his name Hardy yeah what is his name you’ll know what his name I forgot his you come in here talking about I haven’t seen him this Yeah Tim J Hardway Jr I don’t understand why he can’t get no minutes truthfully because I thought I thought you know he can help them so by the way Tim Hardaway Jr in two games this year he scored 41 in one game but that was without Luca he scored 36 in another game without Kyrie yeah I don’t see why he can’t help him but now he’s been stuck because they have two nuclear weapons because Stan Van Gundy said this is the greatest scoring back court in the history of the NBA and Jason kids over there like saying do I take Kyrie out and put jayton Hardy in or for how long do I leave him in do I do I give Tim hardt away 10 minutes do I give him 12 do I give him 15 Tim Hardway Jr can shoot the lights out so so what you saying this a coaching bad now you’re just stuck right now because you you dance with who BR you all the way to the finals and those two nuclear weapons he can’t get he can’t carve out 10 minutes that’s what I’m saying two really good players I don’t have to take it from come up with a lineup that keep him on the floor with one or two of theme somebody has to come up big you have to push an X Factor button tonight I can’t carve three minutes a half hour well I mean the good thing he he he can spot up and shoot Hardway junr and the number these guys are all know their roll they you can plug and play Within with your Superstars so yeah so what is it all right okay so here’s what it is Jaylen Brown said this after game too he said we have played harder than the Dallas Mavericks and they have the essence of what happened in games one and two you guys just wanted it way more okay you came out readier to play than the Mavericks and it shocked me because I thought I would see much more out of the Mavericks tonight they have to just simply play harder at home than Boston they have to play more desperate they have to play more urgent they have to play more do or die because this is do or die tonight for the Dallas Mavericks because if it’s three 0 you know maybe they scratch and Claw out one game I I even would doubt that I would think they would just throw up their hands and say that’s enough we just can’t beat these guys sweep us right on into Cancun one two three Cancun two three Cancun one two three duckboat yeah there you go duck okay so what do I want to see from Luca tonight I I need to see him push the pace harder to to get the ball down Court set up before you can just get entrenched in your defense well he can I’ve seen him do it before that would be a strategic change you also need to get into your offense quicker get get the ball moving let Kyrie initiate a little more of the offense see what you can do to push the pace make push the pace last game they played faster than they have last game they shot threes they just this is a bad matchup skip that’s just a that’s just what it is this is a with porzingis without porzingis listen they have no athleticism on the weak side if you watch the tape we’re seeking out Luca we’re when you say push the pay skip what I was going to say I was letting you finish is he’s he Al Harford is 39 years old or 38 years old yeah he’s probably from an athletic standpoint he’s probably equal to Luca at 38 years old everybody else that they have he ain’t going to push no Pace on them dudes up and down the floor yeah and yet Luca has averaged in the first two games 31 points a game with 11 rebounds and six so that should be concerning he’s played well and they still have lost okay the problem is he’s turned it over six times a game okay okay well problem that can’t happen tonight and it won’t happen tonight so so he can play that’s a problem skip you got a guy who’s averaging 31 eight and eight and it’s still not enough yeah but he’s getting them 30 he’s getting them both of them 31s in the first quarter and a half and then he’s disappearing in the fourth quarter of the game that’s that’s if you want to call it what it is that’s what it is Skip he’s getting his he’s getting his points in the beginning of the games and then all of a sudden he kind of disappears okay you still have nobody who can stop him when he’s right when he decides you just don’t cuz nobody that’s okay you can let him go get his unathletic as he might be you can’t stop you’re talking about push the pace he ain’t beating nobody up the court how you going to push the pace he can push harder than he has he just been walking the ball up the court and you can’t do but that’s normal speed for him well they can do better than this or you can let Kyrie initiate exactly Kyrie needs the initiate cuz as you said the other day what is he doing he’s dribble dribble dribble dribble dribble dribble air out of the ball here you go Kyrie doing that like come on all right so look about a week or two weeks ago we was talking about this is the most dynamic back court we probably ever SE stop saying we well we talked about this being the most Dynam DC or the best offensive scoring do after you know Stan Van gun he brought it up and then you know we kind of talked about it so you know where where does this back court of the Boston Celtics rank where does where does where does this is this the best we we had is this the best defensive back court probably CED that one van is this possibly the best offensive duel versus the best defensive back court we probably ever seen is that what this is I’ll give you drew holiday I don’t know if Dereck White’s D White defense two years in a row I know him really well years in a you see that block he made at the end of the game I saw the foul but saw the block you know he leads all guards and blocks at six what 63 6’2 I think he’s 6’4 6’2 say 6’2 I still yeah 62 Le all guards and blocks okay I thought he was taller than that I think he’s 6’4 6’4 okay you know what happens in these series you’ve been through a lot of these you’ve watched a lot of these you see two games in one building and it looks this way and all of a sudden it changes venues to the other building and all of a sudden you say wait a second this looks totally different because maybe you come in here tomorrow and you say you know what that may be the best scoring back court in the history of the NBA because all of a sudden you see Dallas’s two nuclear weapons go nuclear on your Celtics and you start to say God I don’t know these guys did you really just convince yourself of that skill maybe they play never seen I’ve never because maybe they’re playing against the best defensive I was about to say I’ve never seen a deep team like the Celtics six deep go up deep I think tonight they’re going to be five deep well that’s probably what you’re hoping but a a team with this type of talent get a two lead and all of a sudden change and get to another building and forget how to play basketball but that’s not they don’t okay they don’t lose like that but they don’t take into account the other team has Luca donic and Kyrie Irving and we we didn’t see them in Boston we didn’t see these guys but skip you like you said I’ve been watching this stuff a long time he played in a bunch of them you’ve been covering it a long time teams that are deep like they are don’t all of a sudden surrender to two stars there’s always there’s always stars in the final what depth are you talking about they six deep pton Pritchard really list how is not going to go over five oh okay I’m scared I’m scared wait a second doie Hower you keep talking about you keep discount Hower and Pritchard I’m not even mentioning him I’m talking about the five starters in porzingis or the five starters in in in Al Harford when they get to seven and eight that ain’t nothing but some minutes man they not they make a shot here play some defense there and that’s it prer gave him a a spark Off the Bench yeah he he gave him a spark he lucked in a halfcourt shot at the end of the he what do they say to win in this he accidentally backbed in what do they say in order to win it you got to be good and what lucky good and lucky yeah well You’ been lucky so far but I don’t know if luck transfers to Dallas realize that they’re fictional and there’s no such things as unicorn but we have one of those too you have one we have one of those now he has a wounded so now we got a leprechaun and a unicorn yeah way to go unicorn he’s got a rare injury the Unicorn I got the Mavericks tonight they both got the Celtics tonight and we will see won’t we Paul Pierce is about to go in on the Lakers looking so bad
