Draft the Minnesota Timberwolves select Zack LaVine from UC I know a lot of people want to say Championship or bus and sure that’s going to be a good mentality to have cuz we want the pressure on us we want people to look at us as one of the best teams cuz we’re going to have to hold ourselves accountable for you know everything that we do and the actions on and off the floor with the opportunity of coming in here helping young guys in this transition of uh being better and better than this team for the city uh I saw this has a great opportunity for me so I’m just happy to be here and uh I figure if LeBron can go home then why can’t I next year just you know have a better season obviously as as a team make the playoffs so make the playoffs next year become a better teammate a better leader do more for everyone around me make the All-Star game cuz in Toronto obviously big accomplishment for me if I if I could make it the second pick will be made by the Los Angeles Lakers and that the Minnesota timber wols I feel that fit in as a versatile for open up the space of the FL for the great slashers are Zack LaVine and Andrew Wiggins Ricky rubby throwing passes I think the sky is the limit for us excited to be a t- wol and be able to go and start our Championship run towns is officially the NBA’s Rookie of the Year by unanimous decision he becomes the first Wildcat to win the we feel they deserve to have a winning NBA team and we’re going to put everything we have to make sure that we do everything possible to give that to him with the fifth pick in the 2016 NBA draft the Minnesota Timberwolf select Chris Dunn from Providence College you know what the biggest thing is everyone understands roles and we all understand that we’re in this together we’re all giving our best whether it be in practice game being a great teammate that’s what it all comes out to we may be young like you said but at the end of the day our maturity is going to stand out more than our age and I love call Anthony towns he’s a beautiful player incredibly right future cuz he’s not just an inside back to the back player he P most of the time he’s facing the basket he can hit perimeter shots he having a career year unfortunately he has gone now for the season and then he’ll be back right before the holidays for Christmas what a move there by to oh dropping the hammer right over embiid what a play Carl Anthony towns Jimmy Butler has been sent reunited with his former coach Tom Tibido in Minnesota Zack LaVine Chris Dunn and the number seven pick go to Chicago in return Jimmy Butler Allstar along with the number 16 pick they open up even they still have 15 million left in cap space they can go out and chase other players this is their move they’re they’re going to make a move to end their 13-year playoff drought they’re not catching the Warriors but look at this in the last couple of days they’ve add a couple of former Allstar when asked by the crossover whether he’s worthy of a Max contract from the Timberwolves his reply was quote I definitely do nothing less Wiggins averaged 23 points four rebounds nobody plays harder than Jim he’s one of those guys that play extremely hard so the little problem they had with wiggin should be fixed but new team great coach having Jimmy Butler having guys veterans like Jamal Crawford come around I think they’ll be better this year I think this team will make the playoffs I think I can play with anybody tell you the truth um I know the game I’m not a selfish player and I’m not here for stats or anything like that I just want to win I’m still here playing I’m still I still love the game 3 seconds 1 second the drought is finally over 13 years of disappointment and frustration has come to an end I’ve learned a lot especially in this playoffs you know you understand a little bit of the difference between regular season postseason we haven’t been there in like 14 years there’s experience that needed to be garnered that we wanted to take that next step we’re very confident in ourselves leading up to next year and with the 20th pick in the 2018 NBA draft the Minnesota Timberwolves select Josh oogi from Georgia [Music] Tech toxic relationship that he’s had that’s devolved with Carl Anthony towns that’s a part of it there’s an overall uh sense of dysfunction around this organization that Jimmy Butler feels Town streat came after a delicious contract extension 5 years $190 million NBA’s all third team last season another step forward in his career in which cat is averaged over 21 Points 11 rebounds everybody’s so scared to be honest with one another if you didn’t like the way that I handled myself in in in practice one of the players come up to me somebody say something anybody I’m not going to Minnesota and they gave up Robert Covington and Dario Sarge as part of that trade two really good young players it may work but it’s just as likely it’s going to be a mistake it’ll be one of the more interesting questions that’ll be answered this has been some time in the making uh between Tom Tibido and uh ownership once the Jimmy Butler Saga started to unravel that was the beginning of the end for Tom Tibido in Minnesota to be a franchise player all the responsibilities that come with that role absolutely I’ve been given more responsibility than I’ve ever been given in my NBA career so far more learning what it takes to take a team to the next level and to put them in a spot we’re building winning culture we want a sustainable model that’s going to have success we want to consistently be a winning team that gets in the playoffs and has the foundation to compete for a championship and to do something here that hasn’t been done with the sixth pick in the 2019 NBA draft the Phoenix Suns select Jared Culver from Texas Tech University one of the reasons why I wanted to come here is because of the depth of the team we have a very long team I think switch anything versatile of course with with Blake Drummond the big Dynamic is is huge here wasn’t the best feeling to get I meant to be undrafted I always believed in myself because I put the work in and there another path that you have to go down where so you have to prove yourself and I’m willing to show anything I can to prove that I can put a mark on my legacy we want to win if you want to win if you want to win if you want to be okay possibly make the playoffs and stuff then it’s cool do okay or good things if you want to be great you got to do great things so I feel that when times get tough I think that this team will not only stick together but will’ll find different ways to succeed you know it’s not easy to win you know in this league so every loss you take you know especially consecutively you know we’re losing what this eight in a row you know it can get worse or it can get better you know it’s going to be on us to changes around despite recent rumors Timberwolves president of basketball operations Gan Rosas insists that Carl Anthony towns is Minnesota’s franchise guy Carl Anthony towns as Untouchable as they come he is the best player on our team he is the guy we’re building around and is he okay hurt his wrist that time landing on the floor I think he’s going to get up to be okay but he’s been taking a lot of punishment he got he took a fall the Timberwolves traded Robert Covington in a four- team deal involving 12 players and at least three draft picks the Timberwolves now get soon to be restricted free agents Malik Beasley and wancho hernand Gomez from [Music] Denver that’s a huge win for the wolves the reason this was slowing it down they did not want to give their 2020 first round pick unprotected Andrew Wiggins is going to Golden State d’angela Russell finally United with Carl Anthony towns in Minnesota this is huge will have proved to be one of the most productive there’s one prize in this group his name is of course D’Angelo Russell the allstar point guard who will join his friend Carl Anthony towns in trying to take this team to another level the second pick goes to the Golden State Warriors in that means that the number one pick in the 2020 NBA draft goes to the Minnesota [Music] Timberwolves with the first pick in the 2020 NBA draft the Minnesota Timberwolves select Anthony Edwards from the University of Georgia they become the best versions of themselves and when you do that with jadeen McDaniels you can get excited but you are going to be asking him to be something in the NBA that he was not able to be in college and that is a productive player that impacts winning we can’t put pressure on S in early beginning stages because you know we can play hard every night if we do those things I think our odds still come out winning once we get the chemistry once we get things like that going I think we’d be really good just them being two superstars uh I feel like it’s nothing playing alongside them guys and I feel like playing with them two we definitely got a a playoff team finals team we’re going to compete every game I feel like it’s just everything going to come together Gerson roses Minnesota’s president he wanted to move quickly to another regime and get a program in place feeling like he doesn’t have time to waste with this Minnesota franchise he’s got history with Chris Finch in Houston the team already has the worst record in the NBA there have been injuries too to the point that D’Angelo Russell and Carl Anthony towns have played a grand total of five games together five since Minnesota traded for DLo more than a year ago they were lucky that wasn’t turned over Anthony Edwards that’s time he does finish with the exclamation point I mean that is absolutely filty we all playing together we all playing our role we all you know loving our role and we embracing each other and that’s what that’s what comes with winning coaching his teammates and everybody was playing their role so uh I told cat about it me and cat had a conversation all right the Minnesota Timberwolves have been sold to e-commerce Mogul Mark lore and former baseball star Alex Rodriguez Taylor previously said the deal was contingent on lore and Rodriguez keeping the team in Minnesota the idea of Beverly really resonated with rosis with Chris Finch and he goes in there and he’s going to play an important role for that team as they try to move closer to getting perhaps in contention for the play in tournament could move in the direction that they want them to move and that’s uplifting that program we we can’t lie I mean Minnesota has been at the very bottom for a while now and it’s time for for new life it’s just the same thing every single time something that’s always leads to instability that I was like man it’s been a real quiet offseason for Minnesota I’ve been through numerous front offices I’ve been through numerous regimes always instability always change I’ve been through a lot katson is seventh year with Minnesota is it time for the Timberwolves to start looking at moving him in theory this would be the time to start sniffing around but look they’re ninth in the west they’re on Pace to at least make the play in tournament we absolutely should take this t-wolves team seriously because this is the tea wolves team that we’ve been waiting for I mean they have one of the youngest but best big threes with DLo Anthony Edwards and of course cat Minnesota has Carl Anthony towns that can dribble pass and shoot D’Angelo Russell when he’s healthy can score the ball and Anthony ERS is an athletic freak I like what they’re doing in Minnesota that’s something special to build [Music] on and picked up by Beverly and that’s all she wrote the Timberwolves are going to the playoffs Timberwolves in the playoffs for just the second time since 2004 and they move into the second round for the first time in seven years as Minnesota suffers another heartbreaking loss in what otherwise was a terrific entire nyear career in Utah no longer an exchange for Rudy goar the Jazz will receive multiple P first round picks along with a hall of players towns calls Minnesota home that’s a big reason why he’s going to remain under contract with the Timberwolf until 2028 earlier this month Town signed that super max extension valued at $224 million so when it came down to make a decision on you know what team I want to sign with I think this was a easy call you know the freedom coach fin gives his guys to play with and how they all play with confidence and they all played hard really excited about our team the things we can we can accomplish when you look at the roster and the talent that we have in this group it’s pretty incredible now it’s about you know building the right habits keep learning keep getting better every day I think the sky is the limit of this group Carl Anthony towns suffered a non-con injury to his right PA muscle last night in Washington you can see him turning to run threes I just want to get to the playoffs the stats are cool but I want to get to the playoffs and compete at a high level super high level defensively Edwards oh my on his head Edwards driving oh your wife kids and while I don’t think the timber wolves by any stretch of the imagination are favorites they’re a top 10 d defense we saw their offensive Firepower they’ve got some depth when they’re not punching each other and everybody’s available going to be a pretty good series Timberwolves against the Denver Nuggets we’ll see what happens finally gets it to him Edwards launches no and Denver survives and they have punched their ticket to the Western semis I appreciate y’all believing in me to bring me back uh wanting to bring me back like you said before I’m going to go out there and do what I do best uh Play Hard no basketball want basketball I’ll get better each and every time I step on the court Anthony Edwards he is the franchise player now in Minnesota Tim Connelly their president they are building this organization around him for Anthony Edwards you are seeing one of the most dynamic young players MVP contention is in his future it’s lifechanging uh thing so I’m just super excited it really hasn’t like I don’t know it’s hit me but it really hasn’t hit me all the way yet but I’m just excited to be able to stay here longer and just continue to play as a Timber wol I can’t do anything without my teammate so a group of five whoever on the court and we come together and we win I think if I do what I do individually I think um whatever the next step people expecting me to take I will take but it has to be within my [Music] teammates it’s hard to play in this modern day with two true big men on the floor cat and Rudy Gober they have defied the odds they know who the big dog is they know who their team leader is and it happens to be the youngest guy in Anthony Edwards and he has just been Sensational so far this season they have all compared you to the next coming of Michael Jordan how would I look denying it but I don’t want to be compared to somebody of such caliber I haven’t did anything on his level yet I mean they not wrong who’s the best player in the NBA U me Glen Taylor is the owner of the Timberwolves and he is now planning to remain the owner the deal to sell the team is dead and he’s now ready to go all in to finally get his Timber wolves an NBA championship in that first half another turnover for Utah Edwards gets it back and threw it down and one from the Rapters that was ridiculous the dedication the hard work the effort that I put in it kind of speaks for itself and uh to get this award is a Monumental moment for myself just to see how far I’ve become since I’ve started I’m kind of lost for words to be in this predicament for real the Timberwolves complete the sweep they win a playoff series for the first time in 20 years Minnesota on to the second round as they knock off the Phoenix Suns Defensive Player of the Year from the Minnesota Timberwolves Rudy Gober and now we have a third four time winner of this award Rudy goar anchoring the number one defense in the NBA did you really tell the locker room staffer in Denver you were going to be back for yeah they know y’ was in there yeah I told them I said I see y’all for game seven [Music] yeah they’ll fire up a prayer that’s it the Timberwolves have knocked out the defending Champion Denver Nuggets they are advancing to the Western Conference finals for the first time in 20 years it’s a lot of our guys first time being in this in this in this light so especially me it’s my first time um so we’ll be ready man we’ll be all right first time took a loss um congratulations to the Mavericks um and we’ll be back we’ll be all right the ownership situation is in flux Mark Lori and Alex Rodriguez are in a legal battle with Glen Taylor about who’s going to own the team going forward you can’t think about whether this team needs to change you have to think about whether they can afford to keep this team together [Music]
