Here’s how we turn the league on its head this offseason.

We get Lebron, and we do so by taking Bronny at 8th. In a flat draft, unless you really really like someone, after the first handful of guys are gone, what is the loss at shooting for the stars, even if it's only for a one-year attempt at a ring?

I've checked these trades on fanspo and they are successful as well.

The trades:

Trade 1: Dejounte Murray to SA Spurs for Keldon Johnson, Jeremy Sochan, 8th pick '24, and our own '25 1st back.

Trade 2: 3-teamer between us, Cleveland, New Orleans
We get: Brandon Ingram, Dyson Daniels, Jarett Allen
Pels get: Clint Capela, Bogie
Cavs get: DeAndre Hunter and '25 1st from us [via Sac]

Our starting lineup:
Trae – Ingram – Lebron – JJ – J Allen

our bench:
Daniels-Bronny [8th pick]-Risacher[1st pick]-Keldon-Sochan-OO

Spurs motivation: Wemby is for real and is already very good, they need to get him a real PG to enhance his development and to get him some playoff experience. They build around Murray-Vassell-4th pick-Wemby. That's solid, and if they don't fumble the pick and Wemby and Vassell continue to improve, they should be playoff bound.

Pels motivation: They need a center with JV being an UFA, and Cap is still a relatively good defensive option. They also need to either get a good PG or hand the ball to Zion to let him facilitate. The way to maximize his potential is by turning him into a Lebron/Jokic facilitator, and he's shown flashes of being able to do that. Getting rid of Ingram benefits his development [ball in his hands more] and Bogie gets him another shooter so they can run small-ball Zion + 4 shooters [Bogie, Hawkins, Murphy, Herb] to run up the score in crunch time. Bogie offers better size than McCollum and makes the 4 shooters more switchable on defense. Ingram is gettable because he's expiring after this year and will want a big raise or extension, attaching Daniels means they won't have to attach a pick to get rid of his contract and in this scenario they get two serviceable players they can use. They do have the Lakers '25 1st if they want to package a couple younger players to try and get Zion a better co-star but I think they should try and get him a year of facilitating as the primary ballhandler first, to see what they have. Also in my scenario, us getting Lebron greatly increases the value of that Lakers pick.

Cavs motivation: Mobley hasn't developed as much offensively as a 4 as they would have hoped, so they need to ditch him or Allen. They likely go with the Mobley upside and trade Allen. I don't think his market will be robust, as there's plenty of FA centers this year plus Capela will be available too. Bad market to trade a true 5 this year so we get him with Hunter and a 1st. Hunter provides them a shooting upgrade over Okoro and is an affordable or tradable contract as a rotation wing who doesn't kill spacing.

Lebron's motivation to decline his option and sign a 1+1 with us: Lebron is great, and is somehow still great at nearly 40. He can't carry a team to a conference finals anymore, but he has a better shot here than in the West, and he has a way better shot with a spacer+facilitator like Trae next to him. He's also got an ego [what megastar doesn't] and it appears to be especially true when talking about his son. Call him up and tell him this is his chance to see his son not only as a lottery pick, but in the top 10. And they get to play together, and Bronny gets to develop alongside the #1 pick while being on a competitive team. How many teams can offer him the chance to do that? Just us, by my count. And he'll have good help, and he won't have to watch D-Lo struggle to provide facilitator help or watch AD shoot from the perimeter. Trae is a post-season dawg and loves to play the heel, Bron will respect that. Young defender legs all around in Allen, JJ, Risacher, Daniels, Sochan, OO. I think this would be a home run situation for him if he's serious about playing with his son. He's got plenty of money, but we guarantee him to pay him as much as we can or offer him equity somehow. Do whatever, it'd be worth it to flip the league on its head and make them take notice. The media attention and tv ratings and merch sales will more than make up for it.

Why he leaves the Lakers: The writing's been on the wall – how many years in a row do they need to be embarrassed by Denver? Hurley declined their offer to stay in college, JJ Redick seems to be doing so to retain his podcast earnings… they're getting embarrassed left and right and the West is only going to get tougher. This is his best chance to do something unique/unexpected and try to win one with his son by his side.

Our starting 5 : Terrific. Some youth, plenty of experience. Multiple all-stars, mucho firepower. Lebron can save his legs with not having to constantly be the primary facilitator. Defense, athleticism, shooting, this starting 5 has it all.

Our bench: Terrific. Daniels, Keldon, Sochan, Onyeka will outclass most 2nd units and if Risacher is close to what I think he could be, our bench may run as the best in the league outside of maybe Minnesota. You can motivate the Rizzler by telling him Lebron doesn't want to play more than 50-55 regular season games anyway and the starting 3 is his in those Bron-resting games if he proves himself capable.

You lost me after the third word of your post. Hard no.

  3. I feel like the Pels could get a much better deal from a more desperate team.

If you think the Spurs take that deal then I’ve got a bridge to sell you, my name is Nakwa Embabayu a Nigerian Prince. I am in trouble and only you can help me. First you buy the bridge and then I’ll duplicate the money and send it back.

Monumental reach for Bronny. Make a small deal to get a late first if you’re going with the LeBron gambit
