Spurs Sign Demar Derozan? Victor Wembanyama Gets A Closer
what’s going on everyone so Victor wama was so impressive in his rookie season it really does kind of put the Spurs in this position to where it’s like do we kind of try to expedite things a little bit do we put ourselves in a position to you know maybe go get some upgraded players we may not go and acquire otherwise right kind of put yourself in a position to where you know maybe you go compete maybe not even necessarily for a championship but just bring in some quality talent that could come in kind of get you in a playoff run right you still want to to kind of grow and develop Victor wanyama vassel whoever you end up drafting right like you want to keep yourself in a position to where you know you’re you’re kind of finding that nice balance to where you know you’re you’re not hindering your guys that are coming on up but you also could put yourself in a position to where maybe you can compete a little bit like I said get into the playoffs uh maybe even the playin getting getting from the playin into the playoffs even if you lose in the first second round right like it’s about getting the experiencing gaining um the confidence that goes into to being in those situations and and just the the type of setting an environment and I do think that you know the Spurs could kind of maybe even do something similar to like what the Houston Rockets did where they have this nice balance of of vets along with uh young Talent um I I don’t want to see the Spurs necessarily overpay for it like I thought Houston really overpaid for many guys right like Fred Van vet um you know Dylan Brooks like I felt like they they kind of which you could argue they probably wouldn’t even have went to Houston if they didn’t overpay but even just like the years that they gave some of those guys where San Antonio if you’re going to do something like that I I at most want to see like one or two your deals even you have to slightly overpay for a guy or two I don’t hate that again just depending on the guy but somebody that is trying to figure stuff out is demard R Roan right what is going to happen with the Chicago Bulls there are some rumors going around that they may give him you know like a two-year deal with 30 to 40 million a year which I think that’s crazy right one I think Chicago needs to just kind of tear it down I think that they’re just okay with being mediocre if they were a team again like the San Antonio Spurs where they were this young promising team and you’re just trying to get them into the playoffs to have some experience then sure but they’re not like they’re just a team that needs tear it down you’ve gone through this process numerous times already and it’s just like it’s the definition of insanity it’s like how many doing something over and over and over again expecting a different result but if Chicago ends up falling through uh on the dear D rozan factor I don’t hate the idea of the Spurs kind of giving him an offer not 30 40 million but even as like a placeholder deal where it’s like hey you know we’ll give you two years 20 million or something like that two years 25 million with like a team option maybe next year obviously depends on what his Market is but I mean this is a guy that was fantastic still can go get you buckets he has experience he’s familiar with the Spurs and Greg papovich uh which we’ll touch on here in a moment but he’s also one of and has been one of the most clutch players uh and one of the best fourth quarter scorers in the league uh the last few years and San Antonio was in a lot of games this year and just again the the lack of experience really kind of reared its head and they weren’t able to close a lot of those games where I think you bring in a guy like Demar Rosen and if the Spurs can remain competitive in a lot of the games that they were thear could be a guy that go close some of those games for you right and give you another Talent now again I wouldn’t want you to like just get Dem Mar Rosen and that’s it but to me it’s just like he would be another be another piece that you would add to what you’re trying to build right so now maybe they go and they trade for say a Darius Garland keep vassel and then you bring in Demar Rosen and you know you got whatever you sign a center and or maybe you even trade for a center and then you or draft or whatever whatever right like that that to me that’s kind of my idea plus you know with dear and his relationship with Pap I mean even recently dear Rosen really spoke highly of Greg papovich and talked about you know a personal uh thing with family member uh that he he shared with pop and how how supportive pop was during all that I don’t want to take away from that interview go check out that interview if you’re interested in that but again it’s a guy that’s familiar that understands what pop expects I come in kind of be the the leader and the adult which I do think the Spurs need guys like that the Spurs need those kind of adults in the room uh to kind of help guide Victor and I just think you could start putting together you know a nice competent comparable roster like I said you go know maybe trade for for a Darius Garland and got Garland and Devin and Demar and know Victor and you know even whoever you end up having at the powerful forward or the center position right I just think that now like you have just this this balanced roster you got yes you’re still young and you know demaro rosen’s kind of like the one old guy but I think that could go a long way to where he can kind of just focus do the things that he’s best at um you know kind of let the the Young Guns take over and do what they need to do and dear just kind of picks and chooses his spot he he can kind of come in and be that kind of co-star at the moment and I think also he would go along B way for the the young guys right like even even like a Devon vassel right like I think Demar can teach him and show him a lot and just even the longevity Factor think I mean Demar de R rozan is just a bucket I mean he still is to this day right and I just think that he could really kind of help guide and mold him you know it’s it’s something that they they’ve talked about you know you’ve heard the reports about like a a Chris Paul coming in right whether the Spurs go and trade for a center or uh not a center a point guard whe they trade for a point guard or they draft a point guard or whatever that there’s a lot of talks that they want to bring in like a Chris Paul to kind of be that veteran you know and look at what he did with um you know uh GA and how he was able to take SGA and really kind of mold him into a guy that and the player that he is I mean even SGA to this day really credits a lot to Chris Paul right and so to me it’s like can you bring in cuz I I you know to me it’s like if you can get vets that can actually have an impact and make you better right because you know you could always bring in like the the vet the the guy that you don’t expect to play right just like ah he’s just at the end of the bench he’s there for like a mentor role or you can bring in the vet that can actually make an impact right and that’s where I kind of like the idea of like like a demard Rosen coming in and being a vet that could truly make an impact and make you better and win you some games by himself right like he’s a guy that you know like if Demar de R Roan was on the Spurs this year they probably would have won an extra probably 10 games if not more right just his ability to close down the stretch and think again think how many tight games the Spurs were in this year that they just failed to close right so if they could kind of you know get a guy like Demar and then like I said brand in a Garland or you know or or let’s say that they draft a point guard and then know maybe you’re trading for Lori marinin or something right like there’s Spurs I believe are favored to to land Lori Markin in so it’s like uh you could even do something like that right like let’s say you get I don’t know dillam or something right you got like Dillingham vasel Demar uh marinin and then um Victor whama like that that’s tough right like seriously like that would be tough right now you got again this balance of just Youth and Veteran and and you get a guy that knows immediately what what is expected and what is needed and you know fits the the culture and the system like there’s a lot of talks of um you know like uh like even like a guy like Trey it’s like ah you know like Trey would be great next to Victor but he’s not really a Spurs culture guy he’s not really a Spurs type of player well dear is right dear had you know some success with with the Spurs and and and enjoyed his time there and has spoken fondly of it right so to me it’s like you know if you can bring him back and have him and and I mean look dear when he was there was kind of dealt this this bad hand in a lot of ways right like he was kind of in this just like ah you know he comes over from uh in the the Kawai trade and everything like that and just kind of on this roster where just like ah like how how how far is he really going to take this right and to where now I just think you you have that that Victor whama go get a guy that can have an immediate impact and kind of you know just take your roster up slightly and you start getting bringing in multiple guys that just you know like Demar WIS you like I said 10 games you know as far as like you know wind shares right boom okay and then you say you bring in a Darius Garland maybe he wins you five games or whatever right now now you’re 15 20 games better than you would be you know without them and then you make some moves Victor has another better season right so he’s 10 games better all of a sudden like you know you look up and you’re like oh man we might be you know a 45 win game or something right like it’s like you know now you’re competing and and it’s about to me getting guys like Victor vassel and whoever else is is a big part of your future getting them the experience and getting them the the just guys that can come in and and help them take their game to the next level and yes you can work in the offseason you can work together and train and stuff but to me it’s like can you can you take that next step right you were a lottery team okay well now can you move to like a playin team start taking that shde and then you go from a playin team to to a Bonafide playoff team to uh you know second round exit to now you’re in the Conference Finals to oh now you’re in the NBA Finals right like and just see that progression it’s what I would I’d like to see with the Spurs I don’t hate the idea of demaro Rosen you know is it the the best move probably not but again I mean it it all just comes down to like what is the cost how much does he cost what would it take you know and can he can you kind of work it all out that that’s what I want to see but anyway as always this is a discussion pass question on you let me know your thoughts and opinions down in the comments below what do you think how do you feel what are your thoughts um do you like the idea of DeMar rosen back on the Spurs do you think know stay away from him however you feel whatever your thoughts are love to hear it let me know down in the The San Antonio Spurs could really put together a competitive roster around Victor Wembanyama this season. Demar Derozan and the Chicago Bulls could go their separate ways and Demar returning to the Spurs could make sense for both sides.

Demar would be a great edition. His knowledge of the league overall is gold.
Id much rather them overpay for a cp3 and maybe a pg13
I remember spurs fans being happy when we traded him. đ
Demar doesnât close when it counts the most. In fact he tends to choke.
The Spurs reacquiring DeMar Derozan or even trying to reacquire him would make no sense. He has expressed a desire to stay in Chicago, the Spurs don't need and can't use him, and he refuses to expand his shooting beyond mid-range.
