this is how a kid from Greece became an NBA legend Giannis was born on December 6th 1994 in Athens Greece he grew up very poor as his parents had moved to Greece from Nigeria and were in constant fear of being deported Giannis and his brothers worked on the street every day and every scent they earned was used to go to their local internet cafe to watch NBA highlights of players like Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan eventually gianis and his brother thanasis tried out for the Youth teams of fth litico the coaches were immediately impressed not by gianis but by thanasis however gianis still showed up to every game mopping the floors and supporting his brother until he got the chance to play when he did he did not disappoint eventually Giannis improved so much that NBA Scouts started to come and watch him play with all eyes on him he entered the draft unsure if he was going to get picked but of course he did as the 15th overall pick by the Milwaukee Bucks
