The SCARY TRUTH Behind the Golden State Warriors and the 2024 NBA Draft!
for the Golden State Warriors the 2024 NBA draft is going to be yet another chance to show just how light years ahead they are of every other NBA franchise you know it’s just about this time last year that the dubs absolutely stole two players in the 2023 draft and these are players that look like foundational pieces for Golden State’s future I’m talking of course about Brandon paj jimsky who was drafted at number 19 and Trace Jackson Davis who was drafted at number 57 in a redraft those guys would be lottery picks easily so the question is are the Warriors going to do it again I mean come on is there any question about it welcome everybody my name is Troy and this is the halfcourt report be sure you click that Thumbs Up Button And subscribe for some of the best NBA content that you’re going to find on YouTube so the Warriors don’t have a first round pick this year due to a trade from several years ago but they do have a pick in the second round at number 52 and I know what you’re saying you’re never going to get a good player that late in the draft don’t be such a casual it happens every year that someone drafted late or maybe not at all becomes a legit NBA player so I’m going to give you some names that Warriors fans need to know because there is a good good chance one of the guys that I’m about to tell you about could be on the team when the season starts and I’m also going to have the stats for each guy that I put up here on the screen too so first off Jamal shed 61 guard about 200 lb played for the University of Houston he’s tough he’s physical he’s a hard-nosed dude who just brings intensity to every possession he’s one of those pass first players who prefers to penetrate into the lane then kick it out he can finish in the lane he say touch from mid-range he can hit the three despite not being a high volume shooter so that’s one thing he could improve on in the NBA I see him as a backup guard who brings that defensive intensity but also the ability to run an offense and about his defense he is just Elite in that area he has a lock down Defender so just all in all good passer unselfish point guard I think Steve Kerr would see a lot of himself in Jamal shed and I see him as a guy who can come in change the complex of a game with his hustle defense and Leadership I think the fans would love him too next up I want to talk about cam Spencer 63 about 200 lbs from the championship Yukon team potentially he is the best shooter in the draft 48% from the field 44% from three and over 90% from the line super efficient scorer too a lot of his three-point shots come on catch and shoot opportunities he’s just a solid connector who makes good pass passes good hands good defensive instincts just good basketball fundamentals in general and like Jamal shed who I just talked about I like Spencer’s hustle I like his attitude I like his leadership when he’s out there it must run in the family because Cam’s brother Pat plays for the Warriors on a two-way contract but cam a lot like his brother he’s a winner he’s a leader and a guy who just makes winning plays I also want to talk about the one and only Brony James 6-3 guard about 210 lbs one andone freshman from USC you know bronnie he didn’t have the best year in college he had some health issues at the beginning of the year he could never really get it going but this guy does come in as a top high school player so you’re drafting him hoping he can recapture some of that magic that he had but like his dad he’s fundamentally sound good defensive instincts you want him to hit the three better and just be a better shooter overall but he does have that potential to become one of those three andd players that every team wants plus LeBron has said on multiple occasions I want to play with my son in the NBA drafting Brony would be a way to get LeBron on that Warriors team and if that happens it would be the biggest story in basketball next year next up Oso igodo 610 225lb player from Marquette this is what an NBA Scout said about Oso his skill set is similar to the passing from Draymond Green how he’ll skip passes Oso can defend and his athletic but he can’t shoot boso had a really good college career at Marquette served as a playmaking five he’s an effective Defender he guards both the perimeter and the interior he’s quick he has size he has Mobility High basketball IQ sets strong screens can serve as a lob threat he’s aggressive and running the floor and initiating fast breaks so Oso could be a potential pick for the Warriors in the second round with the rumors especially that cavon Looney may be ending his time with the Warriors due to his contract and the Warriors just being so high above that luxury tax line if that’s the case the Warriors would be wise to get another big man on a very cheap contract who could produce next up is Trenton flowers he’s a 67 forward who played in Australia this past year but like a lot of guys who make the jump from high school to the Australian League they have a little bit of trouble so you’re hoping like bronny can Trenton recapture some of his high school magic because he flashes the potential to be a Fearless shot taker he made about 36% of his threes this past year so he’s not without touch but he’s not a knockdown guy either that’s something he can improve on but he makes flashy passes he can be a guy who’s a Creator on your team down the line multi-positional Defender if his fundamental and strength improve so he’s a real boom or bust type of player but just imagine if paj jimsky hits if Trace Jackson Davis hits and if you draft Trenton flowers and he hits you’ve already got kaminga that’s a really solid core for right there and finally I want to talk about Antonio Reeves 66 190 lbs out of the University of Kentucky this would probably be my pick if he’s still available when Golden State chooses he’s just a highly effective player 51% from the field almost 45% from three on nearly six attempts a game and 86% from the line also super good shooter has nice footwork does a good job getting his feet under him when he’s ready to elevate for a jumper creates open looks with his step back he can just score reliably at three different level he can just score reliably at three different levels he’s also able to absorb contact at The Rim has really good body control when getting to the hoop and he can finish through contact Reeves is a classic case of don’t overthink it the guy just has too much skill he’s too good not to have like an 8 to 10 year NBA career he’s got the resume and the odds are he’s going to be good in the pros guys I need you to tell me in the comments who you want Golden State to take in the upcoming NBA draft one guy who’s not on the list list because it would be really hard for the Warriors to get him but it’s Reed Shepard I see this guy as the new Steph Curry the new the real Steph Curry with a 40inch vertical okay guys I did a whole video on him it’s getting lots of views people seem to love it so make sure you check it out let me know what you think and I will catch you next time on the half court report
