Indiana Pacers Pre-Draft Workouts: Jalen Bridges 1-on-1 Interview (June 13, 2024)
how do you think it went today man I thought it was amazing I thought the workout was good um the energy was great I thought we had a great competitive group a lot of talented guys that brought a lot of a lot to the court in a lot of different ways so and how do you how would you describe your game I would describe my game as like a connector piece like like a traditional 3 and D Wing but I feel like I I do so much more than that feel like I can dribble I can pass I can shoot and go rebound I can guard one through four one through five and I’m just a really smart player like I try to stay away from things that I know I can’t do and just focus on winning helping my team win and you shot the ball from three really well last year at Baylor so how would you see that do you think that will translate to the NBA I definitely think it’ll my game will Chang L especially the shooting cuz I played with really really talented guards at Baylor um a couple of them are actually in the NBA up here now so I mean my I’ll basically be playing the same role in the NBA that I played at Baylor just spacing the floor running floor hard rebound play defense it’s pretty simple and Baylor’s produced a lot of draft picks recently so how do you think transferring their helped to prepare you for the NBA um I just it’s just a credit to coach Drew and his staff just the way they run their program um they basically tell us that we’re Pros already at Baylor so they just build habits they build habits in us early so that when we get up here it’s nothing new to us um and they just they do a great job honestly what influence did krew have on you playing for in the last two years coach Drew definitely he influenced me in a lot of ways but he made me a lot happier he made me like find fun in basketball again it it gets to a point where in college like it becomes like a just like a task it’s like grueling like you got to grind through it every day but coach Drew made it super fun I enjoy showing up to practice every single day and what is your pitch as you go through this process to teams to try to like you want to be drafted by them I just say like my game basically what I did the last two years at Baylor is what I can do for y’all like it’s super super um it can seamlessly transition my game to the NBA cuz like I said I played with very Bal dominant guards and I didn’t really have to do much and and that’s what y’all paid Tyrese and guys millions and millions of dollars to take all the shots I that’s not what I’m out there to do I just want to make the little plays help my team win

This is the guy they should draft. He fits the role the Pacers need. Another Nesmith. 3 and D connector piece who is a little taller. 4 year player who could contribute immediately. He's also ambidextrous from what I've seen.
I don’t know about everyone else, but me I was really disappointed in the way the season ended. I seen a lot of indecisiveness, not really toughness and grit a really strong passion wanting to win. Not saying they didn’t show signs of it. You could just see that Boston wanted it more and that’s a problem for me. I’m 53 years old. I’ve been watching Pacers almost my whole life, and it burns me up to constantly keep seeing them fall short that’s why I’m asking for a solid 10 man roster of nothing but go-getters, it’s time to get away from that Indiana basketball mentality and teach Indiana go-getters. We talk a good game but when it comes down to it, we always fall short I’m 53 years old and I’m tired of it. Come on Pacers grab the right players.
