The Warriors Plan to STEAL The BEST Player in the Draft

how can the Warriors snag the biggest talent coming out of NCAA basketball this year he’s clearly the best player available in the draft but the warriors with a single draft pick could find themselves with the ncaa’s best player this season hey what’s happening everyone this is Swiss culture at 7′ 4 in tall Zack Edy was indeed the biggest and best player in the NCA this season after winning countless accolades his junior year including the Nay Smith Player of the Year award he followed it up his senior year by Leading Purdue to the national championships where it was clear he was the best player on the floor the Warriors are in need of a talented Big Man on their first unit someone with enough experience to contribute right away but young enough to give the team an opportunity to quickly recover in a post Dynasty era while they struck gold with tjd late in the second round with the 57th overall pick last year they probably won’t be so lucky to pick up a seven-footer that can contribute that late least of all Zack Ed thankfully there’s always a means to an end and it looks like the Warriors are sparing no time in getting to work on putting Zack Ed on the Golden State roster it would be absolute Bonkers for the Warriors the smallest team in the league to end up with the tallest player in this year’s draft so let’s discuss how the Warriors seem to be trying to put the biggest man on this tiny roster before we get started don’t forget to like the video and subscribe to swis culture for the most analytical and entertaining NBA content on the planet now get ready you’re about to [Applause] [Music] get they say sometimes silence is the loudest voice just recently Draymond Green had a lot to say about Zack EDI and by a lot I mean it probably would have been better Optics if he didn’t say anything after the national championship game which saw Purdue go up against Yukon Draymond who not only currently plays for Golden State but is also a TV analyst commented that Zack Edy gave up in the second half of the game he complimented Sam Johnson a player that’s not in any draft discussions and how he did his job in shutting Ed down Ed let all scorers and also had the most rebounds in the game with 37 points and 10 rebounds no one else had more than 20 points now while you can argue that Draymond is a defense first guy so he’s likely going to comment on standout defense well considering Ed had 37 it might just have been due to the fact that he was getting tired towards the end of the game and not so much because he was defended well Edy was taking no more than 30 second rest bouts each quarter from the Elite 8 all the way to the National Championship the fact that Draymond praised a guy who played 5 minutes for shutting down Edy was more of a compliment to Edie than anything else if 37 points is shutting you down this is the player you want on your team this leads to the next aspect of what Draymond does for the Warriors he has a lot of pull in the front office when it comes to deciding who the Warriors select in the draft directly leading to the Warriors drafting Jonathan kaminga back in 2021 for what it’s worth both JK and Edie are in the same class having seen Edie easily dominate a lottery pick sophomore and Donovan kingan of Yukon in the paint is there another top prospect that we should be thinking about yeah the the fastest rising Prospect uh in this draft on NBA team boards Donovan kingan from the University of Connecticut 7’2 7′ 7 wingspan he’s number three on Jonathan gabon’s list of top 100 prospects and absolutely in the conversation to be the number one overall pick Draymond knows exactly what a player of this size and talent can do for the Warriors on the season Ed averaged 25 points 12 rebounds two blocks and two assists to go along with 62% scoring from the field to close out his senior year he’s the only player to ever average that stat line and will go down in NCAA history as one of the greatest players ever he swept all six major NPI Awards two years in a row being the first player since Bill Walton at UCLA he received the Kareem Abdul Jabar award for the top Center as well as the Pete Newell award for the top post player of the year for the second straight year not only is he outdoing his peers during the regular season in six NCAA tournament games this season he he’s averaged 29 1/2 points and 14 1/2 rebounds per game what’s crazy is this doesn’t even cut into the incredible amount of awards and accolades he’s received over the past four years we’d be here all day and all night if I were to go through them if you take a step back to his sophomore year he was a better player then than current Donovan kingan so when you consider kingan in his second year is being considered a top pick this really shows you what you’d be getting in a guy like Edy he provides not just a lob threat in finishing Above the Rim he has a deadly hook shot that is almost automatic since he’s not especially strong this gives him a huge advantage that 711 wingspan allows him to get off any shot he wants so when he gets in the post which is a huge part of his game he either bullies you to the basket where he can easily get that hook shot over defenders with length we were also able to get a look at the footwork and for a player of his height to have that type of footwork and Agility it’s really impressive what this kid has as a foundation to build upon he’s also very mobile considering his size and while he doesn’t have a bag like Victor wanyama he’s no slouch the Purdue offense ran entirely through Ed and defensively he was literally locked down except for this one play where kingan pulls Ed out of the paint to allow a drive to the basket his defense was solid there was no reason for Ed to guard clinging out towards the line and that’s a mistake I’m sure he was coached on that aside the Huskies knew they didn’t stand a chance so they adjusted their offense the three ball was falling for them and and that’s how they were able to take down Purdue this also highlights one other thing regarding Ed’s defense and it’s that he’s not great on switches he’s great in drop D and while his length can make up for it if he gets blown by the NBA three-point line is much further out which will give NBA Gars more space to get by him and get to the basket but again the huskys avoided the paint when possible hitting six of 22 threes meanwhile the bowler makers were one of seven from Deep Yukon made five more threes and one by you guessed it 15 points so now you know that the Warriors are interested you also know what Ed can do for the team how would Golden State go about getting their guide in the last Warriors video I covered the Warriors 52nd pick and how they acquired it if you missed that video click the link that just appeared in the top right of your screen so you can watch and find out what options the Warriors have at 52 the Warriors are still in win now mode despite not making the playoffs but in order to really make a difference they’re going to need talent currently not on the roster while they’re isn’t much trade value in the 52nd pick the Warriors have an opportunity to make a move that would blow every other team out of the water due to the immaculate fit of Edy in a golden state Jersey they need a big man and they need one that can contribute to winning now Zach Ed clearly fits the bill the problem is that Ed is long gone off draft boards by the time the Warriors get around to drafting at 52 so what then Bleacher Reports suggested this trade up for Golden State the Warriors would have to trade up in the draft to a number that they think they could still find Zach Edy on the board going through the different mock draft Ed is slated to get drafted anywhere from 17 to 25 The Warriors could trade up and the least costly pick for Golden State to acquire would be the 16th overall not a lottery pick but not late first round either at 16th the 76ers will have their pick of the litter but with jool embiid and Paul Reed the Sixers have no need for a center or a backup with maxi on ball what they need is a shooting guard or a wing player to add dep to their roster who on the Warriors could possibly provide that boost for Philly the Warriors Moses Moody Not only would this give Moody the playing time he deserves he gets to go to a team and provide some immediate impact with his hustle and winning mentality the Warriors depth at Wing has prevented Moody from being able to come into his own as a player so these 76ers would be an excellent spot for the young player who could find himself playing alongside Maxi in a bolstered lineup in this trade the Warriors give up Moody and the 52nd overall pick to the Sixers for the 16th overall pick they get Zack Edy as their starting center next to Draymond in the front Court this allows the Warriors to play Big with Ed and small with trace and keeping Dre at the four kaminga at the three and four and that two guard slot open for debate this will also Save The Warriors cash in terms of signing Moody to his upcoming contract which is due for an extension this summer one other thing I almost forgot to mention is that Ed while not really known as a a stretch five has said that he’s got the three ball in his bag looking at some combine film that isn’t a stretch but it is you know what I mean anyway let me know if you guys think this is a trade-up that the Warriors should do and if not what would you change about it post your thoughts in the comments The Golden State Warriors seem to have their sights set on a very intriguing draft prospect

  1. Too slow. They cooked Gobert time and time again during the playoffs and he's so much better defensively than him. it doesn't matter if you score 20 if you give up 30.

  2. its like GSW didnt learn from drafting James Wiseman. They are better off trading for a more est veteran big man center than drafting one. GSW has a lot of demands for a center so it doesnt make sense, other than $ wise, to draft a rookie center.

  3. 76ers do not want moses moody. They actually want a backup center so you are wrong in your video on them not wanting a center. However, the 76ers are most likely going to use this years draft pick and package it alongside with other picks for a star. Only thing the 76ers will get from GSW is free agent Kevon Looney.

  4. Not gonna happen, buzz is building with every workout he does and teams find out that he can actually shoot the ball but was told not to in college. Warriors need to have a better plan than that anyways cause if they keeping steph he needs A LOT more help than their current trash roster has.

  5. Better sign or trade for Claxton ….. can play defence inside as well as on perimeter and averages more than 2.5 blocks !!
