Trade Reports ESCALATING… Raptors Have “Their Guy” in NBA Draft Lottery | Raptors News

trade reports are escalating for the Toronto Raptors right now as a report has already come out from Kevin oconor of the ringer the Raptors are in talks to acquire a lottery pick but a new report reveals that there is someone at the top of this class that the Raptors really want to select so with their assets like yakob purle Bruce Brown and other pieces MSI Jerry’s accumulated especially over the past season to facilitate some of these deals to bring in some pieces to you know have that flexibility to bring in the guys MSU Jerry can build add to this core if the desire is strong enough if the belief the reports are strong enough deep enough the Raptors are fully in place to make one of these massive deals leading into the draft lottery to select one of these guys at the top of the draft class despite what everyone is saying about this NBA draft so we’re going to break down all the latest reports regarding this team what could could packages look like for the Toronto Raptors in these deals and whether or not it makes sense for the Toronto Raptors to go through with this on this season so what’s going on because I broke down in a recent video how the Toronto Raptors are already in talks to trade into the NBA draft lottery the Portland Trailblazers Toronto Raptors and Cleveland Cavaliers are all attempting to trade up into the NBA draft and this article from the ringer from what KOC said from uh the his his report basically the Portland Trailblazers are trying to get a second top 10 pick and the Toronto Raptors and Cleveland Cavaliers are both trying to trade up into the lottery if you’re not familiar the Toronto Raptors have the 19th as well as 31st overall selections in NBA draft they lost their lottery pick this year to the San Antonio Spurs so it looks like the Toronto Raptors are trying to get a selection like that back and the reasoning more and more details are being revealed at this point because again all the talk was oh this draft class isn’t great there’s not a lot of awesome pieces and stuff like that so the Raptors are happy about trading out of the lottery and stuff getting their pick for next season yada yaada y well basically a new report has come out from Doug Smith essentially saying that if they had stayed in the lottery and their top six pick they had a guy that they really wanted so yes I’m sure Messi jury Darko rakovic all the front office Personnel they weren’t lying when they came out and said hey we’re H we’re just as happy with keeping that top 20 that 2025 pick as we are if we just you know kept this pick because you know it would have conveyed over next year it is what it is right but that’s not to say there aren’t pieces they aren’t players in the NBA draft the Toronto Raptors want to select with that lottery selection despite all the trash that’s been thrown on this year’s sort of NBA draft what people have been saying about it I me the Raptors had their guy in the draft and yes the Toronto Raptors are in a retool a rebuilding space right now and frankly I’ve made videos about how I think guys like yaka perto Bruce Brown are likely to get dealt this off season if not in the NBA draft to facilitate some of these trade packages because there are a lot of teams that are interested in sort of trading out a lottery obviously the top two are probably uh you know not going anywhere but the Rockets have had reports about wanting to make trades and the Memphis Grizzlies are our team that also want to make deals in the NBA lottery so the third and Ninth overall selections and you can see a few guys on this list that are available again the mock drafts go crazy in different places but frankly terms of a player that makes sense in terms of looking at the the pieces that we’d have to give up the holes in our roster and just kind of potential fits for guys I think Donovan kingan is probably the the Toronto Raptors are interest in because the guy is a really interesting piece I also think to Jane Salon if we trade for lower lower lottery pick is also a dude the trail Raptors just be a perfect fit for this team in terms of how the Raptors are usually selecting but Donovan kingan is the guy we haven’t really talked about much on this channel so we’ll sink our teeth in him because he is a 73 Center he’s mobile he won an NCAA Championship yes a lot of uh Raptors fans you know being Canadian might say hey that guy was cooked by Zach Edy why on Earth will we select him instead of the guy that dominated him or played well against him you know in the finals even though Yukon ended up winning the chip all all that type of stuff yeah I get it but Donovan kingan is a dude that uh is just really good at basketball there’s uh no real real debating it yes it’s Max F isn’t that high but the dude is 73 he has a standing reach of 97 he has a 77 wingspan so again a big dude that can finish in the lane average 13 points per game seven rebounds 1.5 assists 2.5 blocks per night and took a couple threes here and there wasn’t much of a shooter himself but is a dude that kind of Mobility defensive there’s less questions on that end of the floor than there is Zach Edy but still there’s I could see the trade-offs I’m uh I’m not going to debate the Zack Ed I’m a I wouldn’t be disappointed if we selected Zack Ed at 19 I’m a wait a wait and see on Zach Ed’s sort of NBA potential but Donovan kingan seems like a guy that listening to people talk about this NBA draft is the most I want to say safe Prospect but the no most you know what you’re going to get from him a center I can block shots I can play defense I can do a lot of things out there on the court but you guys might say hey Ben we have an actual Center rotation now for bringing Kelly o linck we have yaka purle onto this lineup but as I’ve discussed in recent videos I mean I think a deal is probably coming as Darko rakovic essentially put it everyone knows building a team in the NBA is not an e easy job you can’t just go out in the market and buy players and there’s a process that must be followed how to improve the team through the draft but also signing a small number of free agents who are available during the season and you have a really big job ahead of us and the process before us will certainly take several years now he directly said he doesn’t want it taking four uh he doesn’t want it taking five six Seasons or something along those lines four five I think it’s five six years so that was in this interview this quote but it definitely will take several years for the Toronto rap just to rebuild and essentially yakob ptle does not want to be a part of a rebuild for a lot of the people are saying yes I love yaka purle I think he’s a good Center in the NBA the free throw shooting annoys a lot of Toronto Raptor fans the lack of his ability to be out there on the court you know reliably you know because offensively they can hack at purle and then he’ll miss half the free throws but purle has come out and said he does not want to be on a rebuilding team he said you know when the torona Raptors made all those trades Midway through last season whether or not he was uh disappointed about the direction of the Toronto Raptors or if he regret it resigning with the Toronto Raptors he said not necessarily the only important thing to me is that I want to be on a team that can play competitive basketball as long as I’m uh that we’re trying we’re not actively trying to tank I guess that’s the thing for me like I want to play on a team that’s trying to win every night so for me even though we had some changes and lost some really good players I think we’re still on course to where we’re trying to build around this team right now we’re not hunting for a number one overall pick you know what I mean so as long as that’s the case I’m going to be happy here and I’m hoping to contribute to this new Raptor team this is a new project that we’re starting so yes the torona Raptors they don’t seem to injuries and stuff forces to tank the end of last season makes a makes a ton of sense I get all that stuff on that front but the fact that darkak the front office all these people are saying it’s going to take multiple Seasons to sort of get back into competition get back in that competitive phase everyone is gassing up that 2025 2026 draft selection and now we’re hearing reports the Raptors are trying to trade into the lottery and they have a guy at the top of this class that they really want to select and yaka is our most valuable trade asset right now in terms of guys that are likely to get dealt obviously IQ RJ Barrett Scotty Burns and even a great dick might have more open market trade value but contract wise all these types of things yaka p is the piece that’s most likely to get dealt in net us back you know a first along with other assets it just all signs are pointing to yaka purle getting traded and day by day we’re getting these little reports coming out that pushes my belief more and more in that direction this is not me trying to push yak and purle out the door this is not me saying oh it’s a guaranteed thing but if we are going through a rebuild if we are going in that direction it just kind of makes sense as a probably a move the Toronto Raptors will make but I don’t know and obviously if you make that deal bringing in a 73 Center you know at the top of this class that can play defense can do different things out there would be a really nice acquisition but let me know what you guys think in the comments section down below do you think this trade
