The Lakers are definitely going to add a star guard. Especially now with Boston having a Big 4 and the league realizing they need to power up to compete. The days of potentially winning with only Jokic and Murray or only Luka and Kyrie or only LeBron and AD are over with Boston’s Big 4. If the league doesn’t adapt quickly, Boston will repeat. So the Lakers could acquire Trae Young and he would be a much needed firepower boost.
I prefer Donovan Mitchell but beggars can’t be choosers and any star guard is an improvement in terms of contendership over what the Lakers have.

If he was with Klutch, maybe it would happen. I honestly don’t think Trae is worth losing Reaves over. Doesn’t feel like anyone drafted after Jayson Tatum has become a superstar. Luka, Trae, Zion, Ayton, Green, all really haven’t done anything after years in the league. Even guys like Booker and KAT feel like young players when they’ve been in the league for a decade.

Regardless of how hard he tries or is skilled on defense, it’s simply way too easy to shoot over a 6 footer in the pros.
Imagine how easy it is for us to shoot over a player of the same height or 2 inches shorter at the park. Now imagine all the players playing SG to C getting a mismatch to have an easy shot over a 6-foot guard.
He’s a liability in that sense on defense. Can’t always replace height.
