[Music] for that one yeah three for madness Chris for L question one scale of 1 to 10 how excited are you for the draft 9.9 asterisk I am very excited for the draft asterisk because I think they’re going to trade the pick and I’m really excited to see what they trade it for so like technically you think will’ll know draft Knight I guess you can you can yeah I think so can’t you do it before yeah yeah I feel like I I feel like they’re in their offices like looking at little you know pieces of yarn and string and stuff and they they got some offers on the table I’m hoping and uh I I I’m excited to see what that move’s going to be there’s two big things this summer there’s the draft and there’s Malik Mon and I swear to God if we go into October and we Ed the pick on you know fr the JIS on and then we lose Malik Monk and we’re just rolling it back I just gonna be like all right you know you won’t be alone on that I don’t think I will at all but yeah I’m excited but I’m I don’t believe that’s the plan but I don’t think it is you know you got to have another team to to be engaged with you on that um that to me I said this before I think that’s one of the more difficult things about being a GM I mean we all have fun with it and think oh I could do do this or this is what I would do here’s who I would add like literally laying out the map I’m sure they’re in their office is going okay let’s draft right Jonathan what’ you call him uh johathan right at 13 and go okay that’s a plan that’s a course of action what would that result or let’s trade the 13th pick with this and that and that turns into this player what’s better I mean like right I I would say for the fan base the second one is more exciting because you’re assuming that’s an exciting player coming back in return I don’t know who the player is I don’t but the thought of it being different is more exciting but also drafting a player is different as long as that player’s in the rotation but who yeah well let’s go with let’s go with the easiest uh W would if if you know the one that’s not going to happen but the most rumored if the day before the day of the draft they announced they traded uh Harrison horns and and and the 13 pick to the Wizards for Kyle kman is that more exciting to you than if they drafted whatever player at 13 whatever player at 13 I would say yes I don’t know but that’s a perfect example more exciting yeah is it better how do we know depends on the depends on the player being drafted yeah because of course or a couple players after like who are they really looking at at 13 I don’t know that we’d ever get Intel they go the guy we really wanted either went or we could have taken and then you follow their careers but um I think fans would be more excited about that I’m not sure that’s the right move but would be more exciting just picking a random one that that that would be realistic to happen uh number two please question two if the Kings do keep their pick are you all in on summer league and the classic well and let me just ask you read that perfectly with the right did the capital do and do help you with the with you kind of emoted that it did okay thank you um yeah I kind of I found myself last year like hey if there is a drawback to how great this year was and making the playoffs and everything and said that’s the first time in a long time got a little hole in my heart for from Summer League I I missed caring about summer league so yeah if they get a lottery pick this year and and and they do use the pick and you know it’s uh what jacobe Walter I think is the one probably most like or Zack Edy or whoever it is yeah I’m gonna I’m gonna be excited about summer league a little bit and I I haven’t in a while and uh tune in and that’s just something that wasn’t there last year I didn’t care yeah you know it’s funny we were of all things yesterday talking about the California classic and trying to remember about it last year and and what we did and so on and so forth and Chris and I were talking about it and then it was oh yeah Keegan played in the first game and Keegan was super aggressive and was really good had a bunch of points uh so I mean I think I get into the California classic and summer league when it’s going on but I also very much forget it 100% like there’s no carryover I mean when the Kings won it I that was cool but like I the details of that yeah I don’t have I don’t have a lot of all time alltime favorite California classic moment it’s probably either Keegan last year but really Marvin baggley the baggley dunk over Moog and wasn’t that like he PE N9 seconds into the California classic yeah like that was the first year of it wasn’t it at that moment Paul Kings fans better than Luca literally if if you could stop time and you pulled all Kings fans you happy now should Marvin baggley did Phoenix mess up by not drafting Marvin Bagley number one I think 94% of King’s fans would have said yes yeah at that moment I was working on his Hall of Fame script should Marvin badley have called an instant timeout and retired on the grabbed the mic from Scott Mo and done a retirement speed he would have been an alltime wh if like if he dunked it right there the all time wh if that’s it like I’ve actually fast forward in my life and I’ve identified this is my highlight this honestly and you’ll never know what I would have been never nor will I but I don’t care I’m pursuing my rap career y I’m pursuing a career in music I it can’t get better than dunking over someone and honestly I didn’t enjoy what I just did to Mo Vagner and his family and and little fronds yeah it’s time for less it’s time for Le yeah noo yeah I’m retiring love you Dad yes uh question number three please question three so stupid let’s get an update do you think monk will resign with Sacramento I asked I wrote this question down not necessarily to answer it but to just kind of remind us all as to predicting it I believe in all of my heart that Malik monk wants to resign with the Sacramento Kings I 100% believe that that’s not that’s an educated guess that’s not just me guessing but it is an absolutely impossible question to answer because like Malik monk we don’t know well let me back up I believe Malik monk hopes that there’s going to be a four-year $160 million deal from somebody and he doesn’t resign with the G I guess that’s probably the number one I believe all things considered that it’s going to take more money to pull Malik monk away from Sacramento if it’s if it’s Apples to Apples and even clo like for example if the Kings and I don’t know if it’ll be foure my expectation is if he does sign was Sacramento it’ll be like a two-year with a one-year opt out but let’s just say he was offered 4 and 78 from the Kings and some of the team offered him four and 85 four and 90 I think he’d still stay but I do believe that if in Orlando if a Philly if somebody comes in and offers him like four years 120 four years 110 one maybe even 100 I feel like 100’s the magic number if he gets a $100 million offer I think he’s gone and I can’t blame him I blame the stupid freaking rules that are set up to protect teams like the Sacramento Kings that in the right now are actually that we did everything right Monty McNair grabs a guy who is you know assigns him to a nice $9 million a year deal that helps resurrect not resurrect his career but boost his career it works out perfectly and now there should never be a situation where the home team in other words the team with the possession of the player is at a disadvantage with other teams that just is kind of the underlying stinky thing about this whole thing the Kings should have an advantage yeah over the other teams to opt into being able to go at or over the cap and they don’t that’s kind of stupid and I I hope the NBA takes another look at that yeah my my prediction is that he stays without any you know serious Intel on that but a part of my my thought process on this is the communication I hope the Kings had with Malik Monk and his uh Team be before the trade deadline yes because I really I’m going to go back to that if he leaves and he has every right to that’s a misplay I agree and I think they are aware of that I think they know that and it also doesn’t mean same example Dave like I’m not selling my house and if someone says I’ll buy it for three million that house isn’t it’s not worth that right I didn’t want to but like how do we turn that down right I can get another one lesser or different location that I don’t like as much but they’re way overpaying for this yes and so I could tell you I’m not selling my house and then I was like well I changed my mind because can be true right we’re Malik’s like I want to come back to Sacramento oh I didn’t anticipate a yeah foure that team’s pretty good and they’re offering me way more money in a starting position I changed my mind I can tell I don’t fault him for that I can tell you right now for a fact uh as we are about to reup our deals I I I would never leave khdk for KFBK point would never do that yeah but if KFBK came in or named the group you’re absolutely right I was like well here’s what you’re making there uh we’re going to give you 10 times that amount and we’re gonna guarantee yeah well I said I was never gonna land I didn’t want to I had planned it but you know you got a family to think about now it makes you now you think yes and just like well what is better for me right and and different levels right obviously of cash but uh you know dollars of dollars so hopefully he doesn’t leave yeah I hope not we’ll take a break when we come back uh
