The Miami Heat Will Turn These 2nd Round Gems into SUPERSTARS | 2024 2nd Round NBA Draft Prospects

we know how the Mi heat like to do their business they like to mine an undrafted territory and find the Duncan Robinson’s and gab Vincent and Kendrick nuns but every once in a while they also uncover a gem in the second round well sometimes truthfully they don’t have a lot of luck with their second round picks I mean they did get Josh Richardson but they also got KY apala remember when we were calling him baby Hest what a time to be alive that was but anyways the heat really don’t have a lot of second round picks because they’re usually attaching them in a salary dump for Dwayne deadmond because of horrible asset management or they’re trading three of them to get KY aala which is exactly what they did cuz if y’all remember actually in that 2019 draft the heat actually took b ball before trading him to Denver I was really excited at the time actually and have the video to prove it oh my God let me hear it yes sir and I hate that video so much because I sound like Mario when I laugh woohoo but I was excited because that was literally the last time he’ had a second round pick they’ve gone five years without picking in the second round think about that so that means that this year is a rare occurrence the Mii he do pick at number 43 so you know I had to go in and do a lot of research on who they might select and it was hard because there’s a lot of prospects and in this draft specifically nobody knows where any anyone is going to get selected so what’s the odds that I actually talk about whoever they end up picking did someone say odds looking to up your game in categories so you guys can let me know kind of which direction you think that heat should lean in the first category I got is ready to play now offense a guy that I think can come in and contribute immediately on the offensive side of the ball so this first guy is actually my top pick for who I’m praying Falls to them in the second round and it’s Baylor shyman a 6’7 guard super senior from kraton and I’m not going to lie to y’all he became my my favorite player pretty quickly once I started doing my research one because he has an awesome name I mean Baylor shyan that sounds dope and also the first picture I ever seen of him was in a Bleacher Report mock draft and he kind of looked like white chocolate physically so I was like that’s got to be my guy but when I saw that picture I looked up his stats and I loved them keep in mind he’s a 67 guard coming in at 205 lbs and in his super season at kraton or super senior season at kraton he averaged almost 19 points a game but get this he shot 38% from three on over eight attempts a night so the boy is the sniper you know we love that because the heat could use some scorn but look at his rebounding numbers as a guard he got nine boards a game so between the shooting and the rebounding he’s kind of everything think the heat need bald up into one player he’s not super athletic in the Pro Comp they had for him was Joe Les but I think maybe a younger Joe Eng Les is a better comparison because shyan is not super athletic but he doesn’t move as slow as Joe Engles or at least how I imagine Joe Engles which is today’s Joe Engles which is a very old slow Grandpa looking player but this guy Baylor can move the ball he has excellent Vision his passing highlights are quite impressive as well as well and he got a strap from Deep the boys the Lefty so the shot looks a little bit awkward to me but he got range he got quick release he got great Arc and overall he’s a guy that I think just is ready to play right now and can come give some buckets to the Miami Heat and at 23 years old he’s a guy that obviously isn’t as much of a project and for a team that’s trying trying to win now that’s something I kind of like as well and the second category I got is a ready to play now player defensive specialist and for that I got Ryan Dunn who is a 68 power forward from Virginia with a 71 wingspan and just to right off the bat give you an idea of who he is as a player his Pro comps are matis styel and Herb Jones I like one of those guys much more than the other cuz that boy herb Jones shot over 40% from three last year so if Ryan dunk can ever do that he’s going to be a very special player now I doubt it at least at first because if you look at his second season at Virginia in which he he only played two seasons at Virginia so he’s a little bit younger but I still think he’s ready to play now because of the defense just watch the highlights on the screen but anyways in his second season he only averaged eight points a night but I want to uh Point your direction to those three-point percentage numbers and he was 20% from three he only made seven on the season I think it was like 7 to 35 so obviously that’s not something that you’re really looking for with Ryan Dunn his form is a bit awkward the follow-through is not bad uh but the way he you know squares up his body and kicks his legs it’s a little bit inconsistent but we don’t care about the offense because he’s in the ready to play now defensive category and the first time I came across this highlights was actually on Twitter I think Draft Express posted a highlight clip and my first reaction was my God this dude is athletic and it’s been a while since the he took someone in the draft that could really move like that I know how hak was just in the the dunk contest and stuff but we know like I was saying earlier that he got a tendency to get these gritty hardworking guys you know all the categories you know all the characteristics STI you think of when you think of white people that’s who the Heat usually go after this guy is different this guy has the tangibles the 71 wingspan that’s got to be one of the most positive Wings spans in the draft for a guy that’s 68 so you know he’s he’s getting in the passing Lane he’s getting steals his defensive IQ is very very high and he’s a guy that can literally contribute on the defensive end right now a very switchable Defender which is perfect in the system that Eric pulser runs that’s why I am a fan of this player especially if he decided to lean defense in the draft and for my third category I have a guy who is a developmental project and I’m picking the guy who I’ve probably heard the most in my comments over the last few weeks and it’s Nia jurisich the 20-year-old Serbian who is 68 and this is a guy that was playing pro ball since he was 16 years old because you can see here he played four years for Mega which is I guess some some European team but he’s only 20 years old and in his fourth season he averaged 14 points a night on a questionable thir 33% from from downtown that’s the biggest question that you get with him because there was a lot of inconsistency on that end you see the year prior he shot 22% the year prior he shot 50% but obviously the volume there is different I’m not super concerned about his three-point percentage though because his form to me looks beautiful has a super quick release great follow through jumps forward on his shot so he has a great base and most importantly he has the confidence to let it fly his shot selection reminds me of a little bit of maxre as a as far as a guy who’s not afraid to let it fly and if a guy has that kind of confidence that to me tells me that when he gets a little bit older especially if he gets in this heat developmental staff I really think that’s something that he can kind of perfect and then one day be close to a 40% uh three-point shooter I remember speaking of second round picks Josh Richardson his rookie season he was pretty terrible and I remember how it was documented he was working with the heat shooting coach and the shooting coach kind of told him Focus on putting you know your base straight Square it up with the rim you know instead of having your feet pointed away have them pointed towards the rim and ever since that point Josh Richardson mid rookie season became a near 40% three-point shooter so obviously if he got this guy Nicole jur jurus in their system I really think they can turn him into a pretty incredible player now in the mid-range he thrives and driveing to the basket so he’s a guy that could really that he really projects as a great thre level scorer which is rare in today’s NBA and his footwork when driving when taking mid-range shots is incredible he has great pump F he can change the pace pivots and Spins and just overall he knows how to get to the basket and at 68 he does he does not shy away from contact so that’s something that has me very excited for him as well if you look at his assist numbers they’re not super high only had just under three last season but watch the highlights anyone who has watched him play actual games you know of real basketball will tell you that his vision is incredible his offensive anticipation is awesome his offensive IQ is just great and he he has some pretty flashy passes and I think that’s also a great skill because as he continues to hone in on that three-point shooting defenses will come out to him he continue to find guys back door he’s already been a great law passer and just overall is is a great Prospect an allaround Prospect cuz even his defensive IQ is great he’s already great at playing in the passing Lanes averaged a steel of knights for the last couple seasons there uh and his on ball defense I’ve read is is progressing as well he obviously has the size to be great on that and the reason he seems as a little bit more of a project compared to the other guys is one obviously he’s he’s a couple years younger uh well he’s only one year younger than Ryan Dunn but he’s a few years younger than you know uh Baylor what was name Baylor shyan I’m still trying to remember how to pronounce that and he’s also younger than some other names I’ve seen at the guard position like cam Spencer and guys like that and obviously he still has to work on his jump shot and just overall I guess getting used to the American game I don’t know how much of an adjustment that is I mean you see guys come over all the time and dominate like Luca donic but you also see some guys that you kind of have to draft draft in stash where you take them in the draft let them play a couple more years overseas before coming over here and that might be the case with nicoa yurich or I guess even Nia yic right he kind of didn’t play much his rookie season in the first half of his second season until he really kind of came on in the second half of this past year now that I think about it just drafting a guy named Nia is probably good practice because I just posted a video yesterday where I said the heat should trade for Nia vich so they could have vich yic jerich and then Nia yic might be on the way I don’t know it it might be the last recruiting tactic that we have but Nico Urus s really projects to be like a great player in the modern NBA sort of in that power forward you know or point forward role and he’s a guy that I would really like to take on if the heat decide to go the developmental route so out of those three categories the one that I want to lean into the most is obviously a readyto play now guy on the offense I don’t really want a project in general just because I’m trying to win in Jimmy Butler’s window Shams was reporting today that Jimmy’s still happy here he’s likely staying so why would you want to waste Jimmy Butler’s Prime that’s part of the reason that you know I was more in the camp of if I had to trade one of the two kids I’d rather trade yic than jameh hakz because yic might be the better player one day but right now it’s hame hakz at least that’s how I used to think until yoit really took off in the second half of the year like I was saying but point is if you’re keeping Jimmy you have to go all in on his window which may only be another year or two of prime Jimmy so I don’t really want to sit around and wait for a developmental project and also I’m tired of getting these defensive guys that can’t score give me some buckets the Miami Heat were like 21st in offensive rating last year you can’t win like that in today’s NBA at Le at least not a championship and I know we’re probably losing cayb Martin and potentially Hayward heith and you’re losing a lot of Defense there so a guy like Ryan Dunn would be nice don’t get me wrong you know but I mean I guess we’re keeping dlon Wright and I’m sure whichever other undrafted guys we get can play defense they could bring back Marcus Garrett for all I care that dude was a dog on defense the point is I want some buckets and I think that’s something that Baylor shyman can provide right now and especially since I’m looking to make some moves if they are trading away some of their bigger cont tracks like Duncan Robinson Tyler hero Terry Rosier a lot of those guys are offensive mining guards so if you ship them out for a well then getting a guy like Baylor in the second round will provide some scoring depth to your bench that I think will be very critical but that’s all I got to say for this video let me know which direction you think the heat should lean in the second round and if you like any of these guys and if not who do you like let me know down below and I’ll do some more research and maybe have another video out on those guys so make sure to like the video video so it helps the algorithm boosts out to everyone and subscribe because I’m less than 800 away from 5,000 and the goal is to get there before to start the next season shout out to 1. My top two second rounders would be Ryan Dunn and Jalen Bridges. As a project tho I like Djurisic or Ulrich Chomche

  2. Tbh I like all these options, and also Jalen Bridges. Feel like Dunn would be the most impactful from day1 imo.

  3. Djurisic was teammates with Jovic on Mega. Topic too though I don’t know if Topic was there at the same time as Jovic. Apparently Mega Basket knows what they are doing.

  4. If we can trade down for 3 picks. I’d like (especially if Kel’el isn’t there). If we could some how get Ives (Center), Ryan Dun (Wing) and Nikola (Wing). I’d like it a lot. Let’s see how our role players are with some of the g league player: Josh Christopher, Jamal Cain, Cole Swilder, Alondes Williams and/or Theo Maledon.

  5. Heat should try to get Donovan for Herro, Jaime and future first round picks. If not then we go get Dejounte Murray, Lauri Markkanen, or Malik Monk sign and trade for Herro and a future pick from Kings for Malik Monk, Caleb or Highsmith, and/or future 1st picks. Draft a big like Zach Edey or KEL'EL WARE and Hunter Sallis probably most underrated best PG in the 2nd round, ZYON Pullin, Keshad Johnson, or Antonio Reeves. Zach Edey is NBA ready, great touch on offense, can pass out the double, and when you need an easy bucket. Sign Jonas in free agency. I love this teams chance with the new roster after this move. If you trade Jimmy it has to be 5 first round draft pick and 2 young players. If you go for Lauri, you give herro, 2 future first round pick, and sign and trade Highsmith

Dejounte or Hunter Sallis or ZYON PULLIN, Keshad Johnson Terry or Malik Monk

    Niko Jaime

    Jimmy Duncan

    Bam Kevin Love

Zach Edey Jonas Val or Nic Claxton
