Gilbert Arenas tells the REAL story about the rocky end of his NBA Career as he tells the Gil’s Arena Crew about the time he fell out of love with basketball. He details the tumultuous end of his career that included multiple scandals & a 50-game suspension from the NBA and explains how a phone call from his replacement on the Washington Wizards, John Wall, reignited his love of the game. After leaving Washington he was puking and throwing up nervous in Orlando with the Magic trying to figure it out.

Gil’s Arena premieres every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 11:30am PT / 2:30pm ET.

  1. Thank you john wall even though something so simple as asking gil for help brought his love for the game back in the end and it helped him get out of the dark place he was in 🙏🏾..
And thank you gil for sharing these dark times in your life cause some of us goi g thru something can hear this and could help 🙏🏾

  2. Gil, that's what being a professional is all about, Bruh. And contrary to what others say about you. I know that you, Agent 0, is all that and some.

  3. Be kind & good person world full of hate make someone day don’t matter if you customer, mentee or student we all got impact for good.

  4. An article actually came out recently that said they accidentally replaced Gilbert Arenas with John Wall because they looked the same so nobody noticed Gilbert Arenas was gone after the trade

  5. #trustory During my early 20’s (in the 90s) I remember hooping w/ my young nephews (9-11 yrs old) & their neighborhood friends in my big bro’s driveway in Garner, NC. Years later, asking my nephew “Who’s this top HS prospect from Garner, you know him?” My nephew tells me he was one of the kids that would come over all the time. This was while I heard about him in HS. He ended up at #WordofGod in Raleigh. His HS coach at WOG was my homeboy frome college & we also hooped together in the 90’s. I designed #TeamwallAAU dirst logo after he was drafted to the league. My homeboy was their coach.

I also grew up with #DonaldWilliams also from #GarnerHS Same rec league when we were 8 or 9. He helped the #Tarheels defeat the #Fab5 in ‘93 w/ 25pts

Also in Raleigh during my time was #LavelleMoton, who set scoring records later at #NCCU & their current headcoach.

My HS team (I never played for) #ADHSJags at one time had 5 players, 6’5” or better. The tallest was 6’11” we also had an all american PG (#ArielMcDonald who later at #Minnesota played next to future #NBA guard #VoshonLenard)

My homeboy since 8yrs old, #DarrellHarris was a top HS prospect. Too many others to name…

I was 12 when MJ left UNC only 40minutes away. We all watched him on tv, especially when they played #Duke, which is only 8miles away.

    We hooped in Raleigh
    #smallworld #hoopstate

It’s why my knees hurt now, but I wouldn’t change anything about growing up hooping in 90sRaleigh.
