Indiana Pacers Pre-Draft Workouts: Emanuel Miller 1-on-1 Interview (June 12, 2024)

you know I thought it went extremely well uh I think I showcased my versatility uh defensively offensively I think this group was amazing uh everyone was energetic communicating playing unselfish I loved it and how would you describe your game uh I think my game is I’m just a a factor right I impact the game I think I impact winning at a high level whether that’s offensively or defensively I think I’m a great teammate and I think I could contribute to winning and where do you feel your game has evolved over the last 3 years after you transferred to TCU um I’ll say my shooting you know being a consistent shooter I think this year last year uh expanding my game on the perimeter showcasing that I’m comfortable shooting the ball uh I think that’s the biggest area in which I improve and what do you feel like you learned watching your brother Leonard go through this experience last year uh I learned just taking it day by day right it’s a journey you know you got to fall in love with this journey because if you get consumed within each day uh it could hurt you right so just taking it day by day learning from your mistakes learning to grow learning from coaches learning from players just just taking it day by day and you played alongside Andrew nard for Team Canada at a youth level um what is your relationship like with him and did you talk to him at all about coming to work out with the Pacers uh I didn’t talk to him about coming with the Pacers but that’s my guy you know uh growing up uh very close with his family his dad Claude his little brother Ryan you know those are part of my family I’ve been close with them for a long time Andrew’s been my my point guard since I was a little kid so I know his game uh really good dude uh Andrew’s my guy and what do you know about the Pacers and how could you see yourself fitting in on on this teame uh I know a lot about the Pacers right you know I watch a lot of basketball a lot of NBA basketball uh Pacers play very unselfish you know they turn down a lot of good shots to get great shots uh they they take pride in being unselfish um share the ball well uh very fast team uh love to get up the court real quick I think my game Corel to that because I I led the Big 12 in transition points right I could get up and down and as set on versatile so I think so I think it’s a good fit and kind of just to wrap it up what is your pitch to NBA teams as you go through this process of how why why you should be here you know I’m ready right I think my body uh is ready I think my mentally I’m prepared and I think right now is my time I’m I’m more than ready

Forward Emanuel Miller talked about his relationship with Andrew Nembhard, how his shooting has evolved since transferring to TCU, and what he learned from watching his brother go through the pre-draft process last year. Pacers draft coverage is presented by NerdWallet.

  1. I’m still looking at him he has fluidity that’s a good trait. We need lateral quickness IQ for the game and can he create his own shots. With me defense wins game we struggled in that we need guys who can play man man, solid, man-to-man defense if you go back and look at those crucial games that we lost it’s because they in defense played off man help way too much left shooters wide, open struggle to switch it was horrible to watch it’s because they lack lateral quickness
