Let another team have remorse for paying a guy who’s best performance is a vanishing act

  2. They can’t afford PG now. He made it to the finals he’s gonna command max. Fr fr.

Phily will be comical next year if he ends up there

I get the idea to play hardball, and they should, but when push comes to shove if so many other teams want him you have to max him and trade him later. You can’t let him walk for nothing when he’s in demand and considering what you paid for him.

    >“not on the same page”

No shit, otherwise a contract would have been signed

  6. However you feel about PG, letting him walk does not benefit the Clippers at all. They’re over the cap with him, and they’ll remain over the cap without him. Letting him walk for nothing means the team has no cap space to sign any notable FA whatsoever and are left without PG’s production.

PG haters gonna come in here with full force and stay stuff like “he poop and they’ll be better without him”

  8. I’ll believe it when I see him leaving, really doubt he leaves. New arena, friends, family, team can offer most money, he’s not moving to the other side of the country when he was 3 kids here especially. Sucks we have to max him but all this is negotiating that’s it.

Who cares, Kawhi, Harden, and depth clears Boston. We don’t need him

  10. Ppl keep saying clippers have no leverage… they have some. It’s called being in LA. EVERYONE knows PG LOVES being in LA. Im guessing PG wants that 4th yr and clippers are only offering 3. So… is PG really willing to leave LA for let’s say Philly to get that extra yr? We will see. I personally hope he opts in and gets traded to where he wants to go if not philly or orlando.

The window is closed, let that man walk out the door. And hopefully Lawerence follows him.

  12. Either option resigns us to mediocrity but have different positives. From the team perspective we want to sign him because we have an obligation to be as good as possible, we need the trade asset, and we want him for the open of the new arena. However, letting him walk retains future flexibility that no one really cares about in the short term but can pay off. A maxed out 34 yr old Paul George has diminishing trade value that would be alleviated by a paycut.

From the PG and his agent perspective, taking the paycut only increases the chance of him getting the Blake Griffin treatment. In which case what’s the point of the paycut. He wants to play here. If that’s not a feasible long term option it makes sense he would rather hardball and have a say in his next team, rather than be banished to a random location. He’s been shopped before, and the disappointing results don’t really signal that the front office will stop doing that.

  13. Ong after seeing PG laugh it up when SAS was talking shit bout Kawhi I kinda wanna just see him go bro. Best option he just accepts his PO and the clips can trade him asap to a desperate contender for picks salary filler and a young player or something.
