Charlotte Hornets’ Williams, Bolden look ahead to the next NBA season | #StartingLineup

what’s the outlook for the Charlotte Hornet in the next year I’ll start with Mar this time um we’re just excited for the change you know uh obviously this is my first year with Charlotte and I kind of got there in February so uh we pretty much got there around the same time uh I hadn’t really had too much time within the organization but we’re just excited for the change and excited for the growth um we got a lot of good pieces and we’re just trying to find the best way to put them together uh we got a new head coach this his first time kind of leading this ship how he’s going to lead it so we’re excited for that and um I probably say just the theme that we’re going forward with is growth I feel like uh you know we’re definitely going to be better than last year and um I just feel like the sky is a limit uh just for the future what about your you grad yes I would agree with marqueis um staying consistent um with the growth mentality We’ll add um the number six pick potentially to our team as well as hopefully you know sign miles back and have a good group gr really rolling into the next season um being prepared to not only compete um and win but also compete to make the playoffs and compete to really um show that the Char hornets have the potential to be one of the better teams in the league let’s get to some fun questions this time we went through the serious questions now we kind of now I think this is a little bit more fun um and I guess the first question everyone has to ask if it’s this of the fun part is like who is the toughest player to guard in the NBA right now that or someone you’ve personally played against and why I’ll start with Grant um I just the finals experience um Steph Curry is probably one of the most difficult players to guard in my eyes just because of his ability to shoot on the Move while also playing with the ball in his hands um outside of Step you know I’d give credit to the Kevin Durants the Luca donic and the uh really there’s a bunch of guys that may be it now but um those would be the the three main names that I would think of I haven’t played against JT enough I haven’t played against um some of the guys as much as those other three but um I would say Steph Curry would be mine because I have an issue guarding small guards who can really run around shoot and and do all the things he could do so um he’s probably the most difficult in my eyes and I mean I think everyone can attested that even Maris coming over to Asia where he’s now the biggest guy here but Maris I want to I want to ask you too who’s the toughest player that you’ve had to guard so far in the NBA Grant Williams it’s it’s a lot of ttimes the players in this league obviously um it’s the best basketball league in the world so um you know I haven’t I haven’t had the chance to guard everyone uh so I’m looking forward to that with this upcoming year but me personally of I played against uh sabonis from Sacramento and so you know he touches the ball almost every time down the court and so uh you know he’s going left and you know kind of but yeah I feel like for someone who gets as much usage with the ball as he does as a big it’s just kind of tough to guard every single possession so I’ll probably say saon there is that player that gets you going that that competitive fire and that in a way he may not be the toughest player to guard but he’s one of your favorite players to go up against and just either get you going because uh there’s some history there might be a little bit of history between you guys and who would that player be right now in the league let’s start with Maris who’s who’s that guy who gets when when you know that you’re playing him man this the this the that’s the date the game that circle on the calendar because you just enjoyed going up against this guy yeah so um for me personally I’ll probably have to say um I’ll probably have to say Jared Allen I like obviously uh he’s a very talented rim protector um and you know he’s he’s helped the Cleveland Cavaliers make the playoffs and do great so he’s had like a a great NBA career up to this point but I just felt like um we came out of high school in the same year and so he’s actually from Texas I’m from Texas uh we’ve been playing against each other you know since I could remember maybe like 14 15 and so um I feel like this one person I feel like I’ve kind of like I don’t have like a crazy relationship with him but I do have a relationship with him and I’ve known him pretty much my whole life now I’m curious what’s Grant’s answer to the favorite player to go up against because I he’s always fired up a lot of times on TV and I tune it on so I’m curious who’s the favorite player that you you personally like to go up against I would say I have two names um the first being Giannis Anda uh really because jannis is not a guy who talks a lot but he’s a very competitive person especially when you step on the basketball floor um both him and either Jimmy Butler and Bam at a bio in Miami because like he said I grew up with bam we played against each other in high school um in college now in the NBA so it’s always a great match up when I to play against him as well as Jimmy because similar to Giannis you know very very competitive and they bring the best out of you they want to compete they don’t want someone to just take the night off and it’s very very positive and very very humbling when you’re able to play against guys like that because um it just comes down down to the root of who wants it more and who really really is going to play harder that night and they’re going to challenge you night in night out and those would be the three names that I would say and again I would like to thank you so much for taking the time to come over um to do this interview and that’s why next time both of you guys should come to the Philippines morec maybe take Grant to Indonesia then to the Philippines check out the southeast Asia but again thank you so much guys Grant Williams and Maris Balden
