welcome back to NBA Countdown Just when we thought that we couldn’t get any more people on this desk Joel embiid decides that he wants to stop by Joelle thank you for joining us here on NBA Countdown of course thanks for having me we really appreciate it I got to start with the the tweet that you got off the other day did the Bucks give them the championship I mean I’m assuming you’re alluding to to the Drew holiday uh acquisition by the Boston Celtics you see that as the Difference Maker I mean I came up in a conversation I was having my people and uh I just felt like I had to act uh people thought I was you know having fun but that was a serious question so I kind of wondered myself you know would they have made the trade if you know they knew Boston was going to get Drew holiday so but you know we’ll never know I know we’re at the finals and we got plenty offf to discuss here but having you on this set the first thing I’m wonder is how you feeling how are you doing how is sort of healing up coming along this summer so far oh I’m doing great uh you know just getting ready for the Olympics uh it’s going to be big for me because I’ve been dreaming about it since I was a kid so I’m EXC I’m excited about it it should be part of uh you know the experience uh you know growing up just watching it you know I just wanted to be on it so but I feel feel pretty good and you know excited to get back and you know go to work you be able to go though oh yeah I I mean I want to go so far yeah but you know we’ll see I wish you beautiful health I’m nothing I’m never rooting against you but I have to ask you this question as we see the Boston Celtics getting ready to close the deal and win a championship what does that have you thinking about as a member of the Philadelphia 76 I can’t stand them uh you know I can’t stand them I hate Boston you know great City great fans uh you know obviously they got some great players but he he hurts me a lot so hopefully you know this off season we find a way to get better and you know add some kisses and uh I mean I mean to be honest that question should have went to both of them I mean y’all sitting here how do y’all really feel like you know you in the building in the NBA Finals I know that both of you guys probably want to be here performing on the big stage I mean that’s a goal you know you want to win a championship all I care about is you know Legacy I cannot find a way to accomplish what you know what it is that I want to accomplish and that’s win a championship so uh you know whether I got to find way to do with what I have or you know with what you know they put in place for us to win you know I’m going to try my best to make it happen he you ask that question to you too PG what’s your answer to that question I mean this is my first final appearance and I hate that it had to come in this fashion you know what I mean watching from the sideline it don’t feel good you know shout out to the two teams that made it this far but when you think back of what we should have done and could have done better to be where they’re at right now all of the little plays you know you start to think about I’m I’m just looking at I’m just looking at the Clippers and the Philadelphia 76 and both of them need pieces I’ll leave it at thaty listen and I wasn’t trying to throw shade but I was saying before I even made my first final appearance Doc Rivers used to take me and Al Jefferson to the finals to the game so like have that feeling so I know when you walking up in the gym and you seeing these teams compete on the biggest stage you got to get that feeling though y That’s why I’m here cuz I want to see what it’s like you I I want to be here I want to win so bad 156 team have fallen down 03 in these playoffs 156 have failed to come all the way back you said that you hate it you hate seeing the Boston Celtics here right now do you think that this is going to end here tonight um and there a pretty good chance he does uh but we see I think you know NBA Finals guys they’re not going to quit I thought they had a good start you know in game three and if they can follow that up and you know and keep it up for four quarters they have a chance we talked to PG about this earlier they went into Boston and beat them you’ve seen the Boston Celtics in the same conference all season long did you know that they were going to be this kind of a juggernaut yeah I mean they got everything I mean that’s a super team right there they got everything they got the wings they got the big you know they got the playmaking they got the defense yeah uh you know credit you know to their guys you know Brad Stevens and what they’ve been able to put together but you know Step A Smith said earlier in this show our dear friend Stephen A said that he believes that this could be the beginning of a dynasty of winning multiple championships for the Boston Celtics I don’t think so not with the new CBA and then you got you also got to understand the whole the whole East was kind of heard this year myself included so you’re saying you’re coming next year that’s a pretty good will B Sly Point hold on will appointing at him because of the CV you should be saying ain’t no damn Dynasty because I’m in Philly and they going to have to come through us we go they they oh they know I’m right there you know don’t remember that I you are I’m the MVP so don’t forget that I know you are the rest of your te I just got to get I just got to get a little bit of luck that’s what I’m talking about stay healthy one more and I know everything else is going to take maybe one more piece Joel I believe in you I believe in Max the piece might be sitting right on the side the piece might be sting thank you so much
