It’s the world we live in now. 24/7 media coverage at the tip of our fingers, everything is an extreme. They win Monday no one will ever talk about this game again but of course we’ve flipped from the Mavs are done and this is a dynasty to the Celtics are chokers and could be in trouble in the span of a day.
Honestly as much as I love the Celtics and this season has and continues to be awesome, social media, sports media, commercialized sports betting, etc. is truly making it far less fun to be a sports fan, which is sad.
Game 4 won’t affect their legacy if they win game 5 – no one really cares how you won the championship just that you won – but if the Celtics somehow do lose the series then yes game 4 will probably be that game everyone points to.
I don’t think anyone thinks this would damage their legacy if they win Game 5. The entire thing is…they have to win Game 5 first. Let’s get through that and then I couldn’t care less what the narrative is.
