Indiana Pacers Pre-Draft Workouts: Jesse Edwards 1-on-1 Interview (June 13, 2024)
how do you think the workout went uh I think good uh it’s always fun to be out here like youve seen a couple cities and this is obviously another beautiful one so uh yeah it was just a lot of fun and how would you describe your game fast-paced agile and hardworking big kill but little bit of everything but yeah fast and how do you how do you think you can best utilize your size and length at the next level like I said like I’m a little bit more as out than usually for my height so I try to use that quickness rebounding pick and rolls defense on offense pick and rolls and just be able to be that guy that can do multiple coverages be a lock down Defender protect the rim but then also get on and run how would your experience as playing for two major programs in Syracuse and West Virginia prepare you for the NBA definitely preparing me on the professionalism big basketball and yeah the coaches the staff everybody around at that at those schools was just yeah really important in in my journey all the way to this these workouts and everything around it so and coming from the Netherlands to the US how did that kind of help you develop as a professional just a very different culture so the star spey was an adjustment but I think that our culture back home which is perhaps a little like more small time like it’s everything is usually they say bigger in America we’re a little bit more like smaller where I come from uh so when I came here I think it’s it’s it’s definitely helped me to stay grounded stay excited throughout this process that you know I’m you know doing all these NBA things NBA workouts meeting you know just great people that I don’t lose the enthusiasm I hope and then Rick Smith is probably the most famous Dutch player in the NBA was on the Pacers um did you watch him at all do you do you know him or have any connections to him yeah I’ve uh been planning on reaching out to him I was probably going to talk to him later this week just got his number but yeah no he’s obviously our legend for sure and he’s a legend out here too so it’s it’s uh it’s beautiful to be able to do that what does it mean to you to see you know the the fact that you could be another Dutch player just like Rick in the league yeah that that’s been my dream for a long time so I think we’ve had a total of five so trying to make that six we got a couple other guys coming maybe seven or eight so yeah that’s definitely the the dream the goal uh that’s what it’s about
Forward Jesse Edwards talked about how Syracuse and West Virginia prepared him for the NBA, his connection to Pacers Legend Rik Smits and continuing the Dutch legacy in the NBA. Pacers draft coverage is presented by NerdWallet.

I like his length I am concerned about his ball handling skills. He hast to keep looking down that that would be a problem in the NBA ball handling skills is very important, but the Pacers need to focus on defense and rebounding. The offense will work itself out. We need to be teaching toughness team and we need a solid 10 guy rotation. We have got to change the way we move. We need a solid 10 rotation. Everyone needs to be on the same page at the end of the day we play this game for the trophy and the ring, everything else is obsolete toughness team and a 10 man rotation and we will kill the league because the teams out there don’t have that
