all right guys so I’m going to try to keep it down because every time I become expressive and get a little bit louder my cat runs in here thinking something’s wrong and she jumps on top of the table I want some nasty are we having fun yet I think we’re good I think I think we’re good boys all right let’s go ahead and take a look here uh so our boy Brian Wright I don’t know how I I don’t know how I missed this it but this was this was posted not that long ago I I don’t think this is recent maybe he said this earlier I know he did a postseason interview uh that I did not see or read anything on but I so I don’t know if these quotes are from that or it’s recent recent doesn’t really matter uh nothing’s changed since the end of the season to now so hey uh we’ll take a look at it now before we here um in which our boy Brian Wright if I can find the article uh has some things to say about the San Antonio Spurs situation so we can start here historically the Spurs have never chased big name free AG but they plan to eventually rely on wanyama to attract players in San Antonio for now it’s on the Spurs front office to figure out how it will build around its big man and this is what Brian Wright had to say we’ve always said this our runaway is not just next season your Runway or runaway what the heck your Runway is next season and Beyond um so how do you make the appropriate moves to set yourself up for growth and improvements in the best way possible but also maintain the longevity and we already know Wright has been masterful as far as setting us up for this rebuild um you know me personally it’s really hard for me to critique too much uh I I think it’s been going very well actually grabbing Wim banama I think fael and soan were great picks and yeah we’re we’re we’re going in a good direction but he say it’s a brickby brick thing that we have to do here and then moving on down here it says says Wright said that the Spurs front office plans to use wiay yama’s presence as a long-term recruiting tool so they are going to use them and he says you would think over time yeah it would help us there’s a lot of things obviously pop uh has been here for a long time and who is a leader and a coach this whole roster growing and developing that’s our hope and what we’re doing organizationally business and Beyond uh this is how it’s been my whole life having to be patient when mayama said to ESPN now I remember this be patient but not always you know nothing is going to stop us from pursuing uh it as hard as as hard as we can even though we can’t do it today I don’t know why that was hard for me to read one day is going to pay off all of these efforts uh so yeah man it’s just good stuff overall and this this right here what papic had to say I think we went over that uh before anyways but this is really good stuff I I don’t know if I I don’t recall this quote from Brian Wright at all I mean if we have talked about it I it it is out of my memory uh but I do like this um overall what what he’s trying to say and look I I understand that you know a lot of people are are really hesitant to say Brian Wright is a good GM um you know we can go through all the articles in the world we can go through what other GMS like think of him uh we we looked at something in particular which I think he was he was listed as the third best GM in the NBA uh as far as the moves that he’s made um but none of that matters fans only going to care about what’s going on in present day and because the San Antonio Spurs have been losing they jump to okay we’re trash we don’t know what we’re doing but honestly guys with all of the picks that he’s accumulated uh and and even looking at 2026 where we have like 55 second round picks you’re not going to pick all of those um but you are really setting yourself up for Success um and I don’t think anybody could wish for a better rebuild than the Spurs and I’m not going to sit back and just say hey we need to be content with anything that this franchise does but man oh man I I I do I do find a little disheartening at times when you do see people say oh yeah the Spurs aren’t you know that good or oh you know Brian Wright really needs to get it together or he’s trash or whatever they might say I I really find that disheartening as especially from a franchise that’s been doing it the right way for so long uh and even recently I I think you couldn’t have asked for a better rebuild uh this rebuild hasn’t been going on forever okay some people will say they’ve been rebuilding since Kawai left that is not true uh Spurs and Spurs fans alike all thought and if you go back I know we have revisions history sometimes but if you go back you’ll recall that we all thought the team could go pretty far right uh we were like oh we’re still competitive uh we were delusional we were delusional but we did think oh yeah they’re still competitive with uh Demar Rosen and la and with papovich and he can make anything happen that is not true um and you know obviously they suffered the consequences being mediocre for a little while but there are so many teams in the NBA that’s been mediocre forever and there’s so many teams in the NBA that will not touch a championship and I don’t know how long maybe a couple more decades um that they just do not know what they’re doing until they get more leadership or better leadership but that is not the case with the Spurs seems like we’re in pretty good hands uh Brian Wright has been a great GM the front office has done a great job and you know obviously pop knows what he’s doing it’s not like he lost a step or anything just don’t really have the talent uh but if you watched this season and you got to the end of it okay cuz I know a lot of people dropped out at the middle okay but if you made it to the end of it you saw a team getting better and better and better to the point where they were genuinely a tough team to beat by the end of the season even with the lack of talent that I think that we have and you know obviously we got to add more and and guys got to grow and and everything like that but um anyways that’s all I really have to say uh if you guys
