I mean big mood there from R Artest 14 years ago today Kobe Bryant ESS and the Lakers denied the Celtics from getting their 18th Banner well producer Greg duh but Championship six coaches later the Lakers are still in puru of the same as W reported on Friday JJ reck interviewed with the Lakers this weekend so while we wait to hear the details of how that interview went one has to ask Chen is a new head coach enough when we’re looking in our crystal balls of next season no one the West is coming for the Lakers to get back into contention it’s not I’m sorry there’s not like one situation one Band-Aid that could fix everything that needs surgery okay what they need is to be able to have someone that can provide accountability leadership and also understand the ecosystem of the Western Conference which I’m assuming whoever is the head coach will do that but at the end of the day this team was a team that was not good enough based off of where the direction the Minnesota Timberwolves were where the Denver Nuggets are where the Dallas Mavericks are currently are to compete based off of roster construction you have to have a vision which is why getting them in place getting a head coach in place before the draft is a great start for that I mean time is ticking time is definitely ticking so I think the coach is a good step in the right direction but then you have to go to Team you have to go to Personnel you have to go to offensive Vision you have to go defensive position and then you have to think about the future of the franchise so look there’s another checklist there’s a segment I want to put Pitch for next season it’s a checklist they have a lot to Mark off’s checklist I love the alliteration there let me turn my hat backwards sip my $800 bottle of wine oh like JJ on the podcast I you I think about my answer no the coach is not enough to turn the Lakers back into a contender this is a Western Conference the western conference is a completely different animal now they’re going to have picks to trade this summer they’re going to try to trade him for an impact player the players the roster have to improve for them to become a real contender in a western conference it’s not getting any easier at the top at the bottom or in the middle this has been a play in team almost every year that’s crazy to think about the Lakers being the team that is quot competing for championships only one season finishing better than seventh well the coach really don’t have a choice and that’s the gift and the curse of having LeBron James and Anthony Davis on your team because long as you got those two on your roster every single year it is going to be about competing for a title and being a team that’s a title Contender right because there’s nothing less than that especially having LeBron do I think they’re going to be no but the expectations are going to be for them to actually go out there and win the Championship no other no other way around it whatever coach comes in again he got to make sure he put the right system in place this got to be an Anthony Davis hire and you got to find ways if they do keep Austin Reeds ruy hamar those guys how can you put them in position offensively to be more successful perk I know we talk about La La Land a lot are we in la la land though is there a realistic expectation for them to win a championship considering what the West looks like because if that’s what they’re coming in saying we have to have a coach that fixes that I feel like that’s a little bit unrealistic I mean that’s that’s I mean that’s the gift and the curse of having LeBron I ain’t saying I I didn’t even want to talk about this I’m I’m pissed off at jiren okay call our producers you know why you know why because you don’t bring up that 2010 moment when your boy big perk sitting here when I was sitting on the sideline with a toy ACL I don’t want to care about about 2008 in the Celtics we bring that up going have bought that up well how about we just we we’ll check in on the rest of the league see what’s going on now [Music]

Once again….. this whole "they've been a play in team every year" shyt…. without the play in existing… what would they be??? A PLAYOFF TEAM…. THERE ARE 8 TEAMS IN THE PLAYOFFS…. without the play in they would just be IN THE PLAYOFFS… my god movement of the fg post when it comes to Lebron and the Lakers ….also matchups are a thing….. they are actually a decent matchup for anyone but the nuggets….. and kings apparently… that's why it was win one game and jump 4 spaces in the west… smh listening to the most biased statements… none of them have liked lebron except for perk but he doesn't anymore

Until the Lakers are owned by a solid and well put together corporation and staffed by a well run front office with strong basketball acumen, this team will continue to flounder as a play in team with an early bounce out. As assembled, a nice start would be to replace Pelinka with Bob Myers. Wishful thinking on my part!
All I'm gonna say is throwing out the term "play in team" is a way different meaning in the west than it is in the east. The east play in teams just suck bc the east ain't deep. The west play in teams are just about 50 win teams like the lakers, warriors, suns, kings etc in that mix that all feel they have a shot to go all the way depending on matchups, health, etc. Can lakers have a solid shot at competing for a championship? Ofc. Mavericks showed that this year. Most people questioned if they'd even make playoffs after missing it completely last season and here they are in NBA finals. But it's gonna come down to what changes they make roster wise and what seed they finish prior to playoffs. They don't need another star. They need better fitting/ more reliable role players. When you play nuggets and only one dude on your bendh scores basically the entire series and 2-3 of your starters ( DLO, Rui, Reaves) basically stink as we saw it cost them. Had there starters of those 3 put up what they averaged in regular season and they got more production out of there bench they would have beaten Denver. They lead 70% of the minutes in Series yet bc those guys struggled they were never able to close it.
Save yourself some sanity and stay away from LA.

I don’t believe whoever is the coach will NOT straighten out the issues the Lakers have. As management I would have made the hardest decision ….let go LeBron and/or Davis. Basically they need to redo their rooster. The longer Lakers make this decision the longer it will take them to be competitive in the west. His days are done. He needs to man up and retire. I am sure that’s what he wants to do if someone picks up his son and brings him into the NBA….and it will be a big mistake. I don’t have a crystal ball but time will tell.

What a dumb question = Steve Nash SUCKED as a coach, but was a great player vs. JJ was a TERRIBLE player, who was mostly clueless on the court, without help from coaches HE DID NOT RESPECT FOR GIVING HIM A CHANCE TO PLAY = JJ has NO CLUE what being a coach means + he has NO CLUE what winning basketball in the NBA, even looks like in real-time = JJ's going to FAIL miserably & we will ALL be there to laugh, when it happens because JJ deserves to get embarrassed, just being himself
