to be here for five more years we going be in this system hey work this work the system you doing what I see I said what the [ __ ] was I doing I got my [ __ ] po of there I should have went to New York had a couple coffee of Boston I had a cup bro I was say he said what are you doing you know we going to be here I was like you right damn and and a lot of people understand in Minnesota our first year like people people underestimate Jeff really was going through a lot of injur like I’m trying to tell you like he could never really fully like just rest that’s how much we needed him like a lot of stuff contribute like I’m telling you like without Jeff we wouldn’t have got we wouldn’t have made the playoffs bro once once Jimmy went down once everybody start going hay W that’s what made TPS really like nah he different he different that’s what I different yeah app and that team like you said if Jimmy don’t get hurt obviously I still had a good but if Jimmy don’t get hurt it’s a totally cuz y’all was going crazy that it was a three seed yeah I text that [ __ ] before the season I said nah bro you on one of them teams now now when I se when he told me T was coming I’m like oh [ __ ] we got a squad I was just like like we gonna get tied too I said damn y was hard bro shout out to Jimmy Man Jimmy made he’s like yo where you at I was like I don’t know I think I might go back to OKC they give me some said what you doing you got know yo come we got some bread yo come I’m make TI call you I was like yo whatever Jimmy my brother for Life Jimmy I swear I [ __ ] with Jimbo bro Jimbo T Jimmy Jamal they made my first year in [ __ ] Minnesota unbelievable now my second year ohra was Lucas there second year ly y was there the whole time oh Locker was in sh to freaky luk the realan yeah John was de and our team we had a really good team yeah but I mean everybody want to get paid you know how it go everybody want to get paid that’s all it really came down to everybody just wanted to get paid but y should though one thing I want to say a story about Taj when I knew he was like different everybody love Taj if you play on his team he’s the most love in the locker room he get along with everybody 1 through 15 so we we had a meeting one time and I ain’t going to talk about what happened in the meeting but he was like all I can remember you know I think everything funny he was like we not doing that yo son we not doing that the New York came out no son we not doing that and all I can hear D saying in the back like yo fam chill fam yeah he he’s saying no son no no son we not doing that no stand the [ __ ] up I said I ain’t going to tell what happened but it was fun bro two talking and they never talk like T laugh but when they serious like you listen him and D Ro was both like nah fam he like no son I was crying I’m rolling on the ground laughing [ __ ] making it worse no me not care JY mad I was like a this [ __ ] is crazy I know it was over very y locker room was [ __ ] up bro it was messed up at that time but yeah y really y’all really had a far ass team man nah it was a fun team though it was fun it was what you think wrong went wrong Tosh you can speak on it now hey man uh n far as like the line of far as guys getting money everybody was the young guys got paid first yeah um we was trying to give they was trying to give Jimmy some bread but it wasn’t enough money it wasn’t that kind of money Jimmy was basically like yo show me like I’m the alpha show me I’m the guy and respectably he was he was the guy that was taking all the big shots setting guys up yeah but not only that he was chastising dudes too yeah yo if you do that again I’m beating you up I’m like oh he was that’s what you want I just was in Chicago with you Jimmy you ain’t but then who ER come like all right that’s when when that didn’t happen I said oh man but I thought it was it could still be men but as a year went on that’s when it got then that that around that time when Jimmy was like I’m ready to go I’m like oh man come on Jimmy we about to come on man we we got something good here for a couple years I’m trying to re up saying like if you pay attention to the game like you pay attention like who we like like guys be looking out for God like yo come on we I got you bro so when I seen I’m like oh yeah we got one like facts coach got the whole joint we gota win a few game all we you know Jimmy like I’m out of here I don’t want I don’t want to talk to you you you who me I a know I a’t know he want to swing on come in it was just it was crazy but I’m just happy it worked out for him though because at the end of the day we all family everybody you know yeah I’m glad y still got your relationship though n Jimmy Jimmy that’s my guy we was I’m in the meetings bro it’s me bro now I tell y’all know how we do meetings imagine me trying to convince some to stay somewhere like come on bro he like you don’t even give a [ __ ] like I do like where you going I want to leave you going to take me with you doing like I’m out of here I’m done I’m done I’m done I’m like that’s funny as hell I wanted to ask you bro when you got drafted like he said being from Brooklyn like everybody want to play in New York you got draft in Chicago you play in Minnesota you go to OKC you playing Minnesota then you get a chance to go back home to New York M like what’s that like playing for the Knicks bro you wake up angry every day I didn’t expect that no I mean in a way like it’s it’s amazing but far as your temperament and being like every day you waking up like in Minnesota you’re not going to see anybody like you going to wake up you going to just go your car it’s freezing cold you’re not going to see anybody going to go straight into the gym and to see your teammates go home you ain’t going to see nobody New York man my first day my first year day I’m in the elevator every morning I’m running to somebody every morning like what H what the hell happened you go to the truck you go get a bod go to the bod across the street get a sandwich garbage truck guys there 500 a.m. 6: a.m. they like yo what happened yo y then you got people in the street regular y’all talk I hate you every day but literally every day damn good B ain’t no n you got to wake up like every day I was waking up like even when we won I couldn’t be like let’s go I got to be like I had to look at him like I had look at I had look at the fan like don’t say nothing to me on that type of time [ __ ] where’d you live man I was living in manatt elevator don’t get me start my elevator was stopped l stops before we got to the but that’s home so I’m used to it so I’m like every person like good or bad GNA say something so you got to have some tough skin

Jeff Teague is joined by Taj Gibson where they discuss playing together on the Minnesota Timberwolves. The guys tell a story of when Jimmy Butler demanded a trade out of Minnesota, and how the guys knew it was only a matter of time after the locker room started to fall apart.

  1. Chaque commentaire ajoute une autre couche à la discussion. C'est comme regarder un chef-d'œuvre peint en temps réel.👄

  2. Taj was never that guy please let’s not do this because y’all friends and it’s much much better role players and the most I remember of Taj Gibson is his very young nephew getting stabbed in a elevator after his 33 million dollar contract 🤷🏾‍♂️

  3. Yo I always knew Taj was from new york but I assumed he was like from the suburbs or outskirts or something because I never heard him speak before this lmao. I wish I knew this earlier 😂

  4. loved taj on the bulls and nice to see him talk off the court like a regular person. very cool.

  5. Taj, I’m so sorry for messing up your rims at violet hour in Chicago. I didn’t realize how strong that weed was. Fr I’m sorry. 🫡

  6. they really make the NBA sound like a regular job. it's like you and your coworkers talking. taj gave the underestimated nugget about how it is playing and living in nyc. great podcast.

  7. New Yorkers built different they really be sayin stuff like "wrd to my muva I will knock you tf out" to professional players lmao 😂

  8. New Yorkers like: "Hey, you Taj Gibson? The real Taj Gibson? You lost me 15 grand last month missing those fucking free throws in Toronto, get your head out your ass. Listen, sign this jersey for me?"
