Here are the reasons why the Boston Celtics' 2024 playoff run to the Finals shouldn't count:
1. The entire Eastern Conference was injured in this year's playoffs.
Bucks: No Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard.
Knicks: No Julius Randle, O.G. Anunoby, Bojan Bogdanović, and Mitchell Robinson.
Miami Heat: No Jimmy Butler, Terry Rozier, Kevin Love, Josh Richardson, and Thomas Bryant.
Cavaliers: No Donovan Mitchell, Jarrett Allen, Caris LeVert.
Pacers: No Tyrese Haliburton and Bennedict Mathurin.
2. In the first round, the Celtics defeated an injured Miami Heat team that was without Jimmy Butler, Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kevin Love, and Josh Richardson, who is Miami's best perimeter defender and bench scorer.
3. In the second round against the Cleveland Cavaliers, they defeated an injured Cleveland team that was without their best player, superstar Donovan Mitchell, who missed games three, four, and five. Also missing was Cleveland's center, Jarrett Allen, who was their best defender in the paint, shot blocker, and rebounder.
4. Finally, the Celtics defeated an injured Indiana Pacers team that was without their two best players, Tyrese Haliburton, who missed games three and four, and Bennedict Mathurin, who is their best scorer besides Haliburton and Siakam, who was also out for the series.
5. Finally, in the NBA Finals, the Boston Celtics faced the Dallas Mavericks, who only had Kyrie and Luka. The rest of the team played like Walmart employees who forgot how to play basketball in the NBA Finals. On top of that, the Boston Celtics had to face Luka and Kyrie alone with an all-star starting five superteam to beat them by themselves. Embarrassing.
The 2024 Celtics arguably had the easiest playoff run to the Finals in NBA history since Michael Jordan's weak competition in the 1990s in the weak Eastern Conference with the Bulls' superteam. The 2024 Celtics will likely be remembered as the 2024 "Mickey Mouse" hospital fluke champions.
Another year, another boring Finals. I would never have thought I would see an NBA Finals more boring than last year's Finals, Denver vs Miami. Ever since the 2020-21 season, NBA teams that have won titles have won it because they were the healthiest team, not because they were the best team. The NBA now, in this era, is about which team stays the healthiest, not which team is the best. And I understand that it's not team's fault that other teams cannot stay healthy, but I blame Adam Silver for starting the 2020-21 season early and giving teams only two months of rest in the off-season after the Lakers won the title in 2020. Ever since that off-season, tons of NBA stars can't stay healthy. The last real title was in 2020 when the Lakers won. That was the only year in the 2020s era that a team has won defined by who is the best team in the league. And yes, the Boston Celtics had the best record in the regular season this year, but in the playoffs, they wouldn't have won if every team in the East was healthy. If the Miami Heat had been healthy in the first round against the Boston Celtics, the Miami Heat would have beaten the Celtics in the first round in seven games. Jimmy Butler has always beaten the Celtics, and the Celtics got lucky. The Celtics won because other teams were injured. Congratulations on the Mickey Mouse title, fraudulent championship. I hope they enjoy this fake title, but it will not count as a legitimate title. Just remember that. This will not count as a real title. I want everyone to give the Celtics the same treatment that you all gave to the Lakers in 2020 when they won the title. I want you all to give them the same treatment, but worse. Have a good night. Enjoy this fake title. Nobody is going to remember it or recognize it.

As a Mavs fan I congratulate the Celtics, they deserved it, even without the help from the refs. The Celtics proved their 64-win regular season greatness, and the Mavs outdid themselves, and that's an understatement.
