MAJOR Bulls Rumors On Trading Up In The NBA Draft For Donovan Clingan & Matas Buzelis

[Music] rumors are hot around the Chicago Bulls possibly trying to trade up in this year’s NBA draft which is actually less than 10 days away and there’s two players in mind that we’re going to talk about on today’s show but before we dive into that if you guys are excited or is just excited as I am for the NBA draft getting underway next Wednesday give me a me out in the coms comment section I want to see where all the you know real hoop heads are at on today’s show so you guys give me a me down below if you guys are excited so Jonathan gavone he works for ESPN he’s their lead draft analyst over there and he was talking about some teams that could be possibly interested in the Yukon Center Donovan kingan and this is what he had to say he says kingan isn’t expected to drop past the Portland Trailblazers at number seven whom he just visited for a private workout as well he is being discussed among teams as a possible Target for the likes of Chicago Memphis Oklahoma City or Utah and this is the key part who all might explore trading up for a player in his mold so who could the Bulls be looking to trade up with this is the big question and you know as the draft order sits I don’t think the Hawks or Wizards are going to move off that spot unless you’re getting an absolute Superstar but these uh teams right here Rockets Spurs and pistons I think could all be looking to trade down to add some high-end Talent on their roster and specifically the Spurs I think they’re a team that’s going to take advantage of this wemy rookie deal just like how NFL teams take advantage of a rookie quarterback contract and listen the Bulls their number one trade asset that they should try to use to move up in the draft is Zack oen like you call up the Houston Rockets see what their interest is in LaVine you call up the Spurs you know clearly the Spurs are going to be a team that’s going to call the Bulls around the likes of Zack oine will they be willing to move off the fourth pick in comparison to the eighth pick that they also have in the draft who knows on that but also like a team like the Detroit Pistons they were rumored to be interested in them you know last off season like use aine use that trade piece and you could possibly go land Donovan Clingan who in my opinion Clingan I have like I think NF or NBA GMS are going to you know kind of learn their lesson on letting Walker Kessler drop you know to the 20s a couple drafts ago and that’s my Pro Comp for him like just overall Big Time shop blocker can protect the rim you know really well he’s seven foot2 280 lbs and you know his biggest strength kind of like I said interior defense protecting the rim is key definitely one of his weaknesses though he’s not that versatile on both sides of the floor like offensively he actually really needs to work on his touch around the rim if you guys have been watching you know I’ll take the New York Knicks for example they ask their bigs to hit that touch shot at such a high rate bus don’t necessarily you know do that as often but I think that’s kind of a you know honestly I think that’s a kind of a play in the league that we’re going to see you know uh used a whole lot more but no doubt his biggest strength is an interior defense and that’s why he average two and a half blocks a game last season at Yukon and he comes from that winning pedigree you know winning back-to-back national championships you know at Yukon um I think he was just fantastic you know there being that elite elite rim protector for the Huskies the past couple of seasons and the thing is with clinging that I love so much is when you look at some of these guys when they’re coming out of college you know do they play a winning brand of basketball and kingan does like there is no doubt about it he is one of the like one of the true most impactful players we have seen on winning coming out of college over the past couple years so listen I would all or I would be all in on Donovan cling and the Bulls trading up for him but I would also be absolutely furious with this franchise if they gave up even more future draft Capital to go land him so that’s why like I said at the top of today’s show use Zack LaVine as that trade piece use LaVine to trade up in the draft don’t stack or don’t stockpile first round picks because then let’s just say even if kinging works out and you know if the Bulls were to do that trade a future first round pick the move up that would be telling me and telling the fans we’re going to try to win games yet again next season both should not do that the B should be looking to just developing players and resetting this uh resetting this timeline for this franchise so Quan I love him I would love to have him on the chicag Bulls but again I would be furious if they would use a future first to move up for him but you guys let me know who is your pro comparison or your pro comp for Donovan Clingan I said mine was Walker Kessler you guys let me know uh yours down below in the comment section all right another player that the Bulls could be trading up for we’ve heard the connections we’ve heard the rumors Bas buellis and you know the more I you know dive into this guy the more I just love his style of play but this is also coming in from gavon as he was saying sources say buellis Hometown team the Chicago Bulls watched him work out privately in Los Angeles earlier in the pre-draft process Chicago has shown a willingness to explore moving up in the draft for the right price the Bulls leanian president Urus carne SAS has extensive knowledge of buellis who is also Lithuanian now when I’m you know evaluating a guy like buzos who you know played in the G League you know it’s not the you know most winning style of basketball or a lot of these guys you know they are out there just trying to make a name for themselves so it’s tough to evaluate how they are you know impacting the game of basketball in a winning fashion but in terms of just overall skill in terms of just his overall size like he is truly I don’t want to call him like a unicorn in the likes of wemi but with his size you know at 6’9 and has in a 610 wingspan like the more I watch this guy play the more I like him he has an ability to put the ball on the deck at you know 6’9 6’10 wingspan he can dribble the ball at a pretty decent level he didn’t shoot the ball well this past year with the g-league ignite but again you know you want to chalk that up to you know the style of the play or just him not being a good you know shooter I’ll leave that up you know for you to debate but in terms of his form on his jump shot it’s a very repeatable form he gets to the shooting pocket in the release um almost every time so I like that in terms of developing that jump shot and my Pro Comp for him it’s actually fron Vagner and you know maybe this is being a little zealous May giving them too much praise but like just the way they play the way they move out there on the basketball court it is very very similar now my biggest Pro for buellis is his athleticism like he is truly a freak athlete you know 38 inch vertical 6’9 you go watch his highlight tape first five minutes of it there’s about three or four clips of him just dunking on dudes you know at the um at the g-league level now he also a big con which I’m honestly not too worried about is his slim frame he’s super slender super skinny right now but you can kind of tell he’s got this Christmas tree build to him he’s got really broad shoulders and a really tight torso so I think it’s going to be a you know be easier for him to put on weight in you know in comparison to other players now also big Pro and why compare him to France Vagner is he plays at his own pace like even though the gag Game is so up and down it’s this a style of play like anytime he got the ball took a deep breath he slowed it down he played his own style of play which I think will be a huge contributor to him being successful at the next level and we kind of talked about the three-point shooting already a little bit you know it’s definitely a con him shooting only 26% with the g-league this past season but you know what I’m looking at these guys in terms of you know them possibly being a uh you know their jump shot you know translating to the next level like I’m more looking at their form and his form is good his release point is good as well so I don’t really think it’s you know that big of a concern that he didn’t shoot it at a super High clip this past season
