SCARY OG Anunoby Contract Update… | Knicks News

all right this is pretty shocking because the New York Knicks could be losing Oobi as it appears according to Brian Windor that Oobi is not happy with the contract extension offer that the New York Knicks gave him and we have to talk about this so what’s up guys welcome back to Nicks digest it’s Chris here and we’re going to jump right into the video as we always do because just 25 minutes ago from me recording this oan anobi appears to not be thrilled with what the New York Knicks offered him in a contract extension as we know the NBA finals are over in the most boring anticlimactic end of a season I’ve ever seen where the Boston Celtics Cake walk to the finals that’s not the point of this the point is that now teams can talk to their own free agents and OG on anobi might have gotten a contract offer but it appears that he does not like it now Brian Windor spoke on this and here’s what he had to say let’s keep an eye on that talking about OG most people believe anobi will stay with New York but there have been indications he may want to test the market because he’s not thrilled with what the Knicks are offering now obviously that’s a terrifying sign and the last thing we want is to lose OG on anobi I mean we traded RJ barard in emanu quickly for two young pieces who are only going to get better RJ played great in Toronto IQ is breaking out now getting to finally be a starting point guard so the Knicks cannot lose OG on anobi under any circumstances now if the New York Knicks were to lose him then the male Bridges door once again opens because the Knicks are going to compens by overpaying for Bridges and it’s not going to be a great look but it’s going to be what they’d have to do now at the same time I don’t think oan and Obi is leaving I think this is a real report I do think the Knicks low balled OG and were like hey dude you’re injury-prone we don’t want to pay you guaranteed money we don’t want to give you a fully guaranteed contract so you can play 58 games in a season you just got injured in the playoffs we would have went to the NBA finals had you and some of our other team been healthy we would have went to the Conference Finals had you been healthy and you weren’t and you were hurt during the season to we cannot guarantee you all the money in the world I know OG wants to get paid and that’s fair he deserves to get paid a lot of money because he affects winning so much but the New York Knicks need to have some insurance on that because anobi very likely can and will deal with more injuries throughout his NBA career he’s only 26 years old and he’s already gotten a label of someone who’s not healthy a lot that is not a good sign especially because the Knicks really need an anobi on the court they are so good when that man plays they finished at what 22- six in games that ogan and Obi played in on the year and they traded for him in December that shows two things one the New York Knicks win when OG anobi is on the floor and two OG an anobi is not on the floor enough they need to add in incentives so that OG can get paid the money he wants to get paid but only if he hits those incentives which will mainly be games played minutes played incentives of okay well OG played in 65 plus games he gets an extra 5 million now or something like that he’s going to get a non fully gar or his contract is not going to be fully guaranteed there’s no way in the world that any team is going to look at him and offer him that I understand people think oh well Philly really wants him Philly is focused on Paul George they are not focused on primarily there’s a world where they don’t even talk to OG if they walk in and Paul George is like oh yeah I’m coming and they’re like all right well OG sucks to be you dog we’re not talking to you that leaves who the Pistons is OG really gonna go to the Detroit Pistons now at the same time we do have some odds I was going to show you guys later but this kind of just streams right into it so we do have some odds on this situation that we are going to see so let’s just take a look right here because according there I’m going to switch this so you guys can see it a little bit better the Philadelphia 76ers are the favorites to land on a noi if he does leave the Knicks followed by the Oklahoma City Thunder who are also enticing but you find it kind of interesting when you think about his fit I guess he would play the four if he wants to do that and go live in Oklahoma the Spurs are third and then after him are after them are the Detroit Pistons most of these teams that we’re looking at when you go down the list are not as good as the New York Knicks then you have have the Thunder who were great also who also lost in the second round who on a similar level to the Knicks so there are options that align with OG on anobi don’t get me wrong but are teams like that really looking for OG first we know for a fact that the Thunder are more interested in getting a rebounder like hartenstein OG is not the Knicks that is not the guy on the Knicks that the Thunder are even more interested in they’re more interested in hartenstein and when it to Philly they’re more interested in Paul George I’m not saying this for some anti OG on anobi thing I love OG I think he’s great I don’t want him to ever leave the Knicks what I am saying is the market is not exactly made for him this year and that will benefit the team now there is a lot more to look at on the topic of what’s going on with him as Michael Scot did mention that the League wide expectation is that OG will return to the Knicks but the question is for how much from Executives that he talk around the league OG’s floor appears to be at $35 million and his ceiling is a Max contract now I don’t really want OG on anobi to get a Max contract at all because I don’t think he deserves a Max contract I get he’s a great player I get he’s one of the best defenders in the NBA I don’t think they should pay him $40 million and if they’re going to give him a contract that could be say five years $200 million I had to do math for a second I’m not great at math um it it won’t be fully guaranteed there’s it’ll be like a flat rate of 33 at most maybe 34 and they’re like no the rest you have to earn by playing games dude we’re not paying you to sit on the bench we’re not doing that here we know the Knicks are stingy with their contracts Brunson took that declining salary next year Brunson gets paid the least amount of money per year under any of his three contract years with the Knicks obviously there’s a fourth for that player option he’s declining unless he just signs an extension this summer where there’s a real world he does and I plan on doing a video about that and Julius randle’s taking a pay cut and he might have to take a second one and we have a video on that coming out tomorrow uh that one got delayed a little bit but here’s the deal guys OG on anobi after being acquired by the New York Knicks they can’t just lose him they can’t just let OG walk it looks so bad for the organization it gives your team a black eye that you don’t want to have but but really tell me this is this guy going to be worth $40 million 15 points per game four rebounds two assists getting a steal and a half per game also almost one block so over two stocks which is nice solid size good weight hits his Corner threes like nobody’s business great catch and shoot shooter good scorer he’s shown flashes that he can really develop more of an offensive game than he has now I’m really really excited to see where OG can go with the Knicks once he gets really into the flow of things however that depends on the Knicks not losing him in free agency now again I don’t think they’re going to there’s also a world where this story is coming out because let’s face it the Knicks are trying to manipulate the market for ogan and Obi a little bit but um who knows honestly I think that OG’s not thrilled with the Knicks offered him and at the end of the day is he really going to leave being a CIA client with Sam Rose as his agent son of Leon Rose the head shot caller for the New York Knicks I highly doubt it guys I really don’t see that being a scenario though obviously it is a scary one to think about so guys let me know what you think in the comments below give me the contract you’d where OG would take less to be with the Knicks which was the indication he left a lot of Agents with so hopefully this all works out I kind of think it will Leon Rose is damn good at his job and I
