[Music] we got a big time update around JJ reck possibly becoming the next head coach for the Los Angeles Lakers what’s going on guys welcome into the Lakers report my name is Patrick stman absolutely Loaded show today and also on the second half of today’s show D’Angelo Russell it’s looking like the Orlando Magic are incredibly incredibly interested in the Lakers point guards will be sharing you guys the quotes on that as well but yesterday or actually earlier today I will say our Celtics Channel coming off the NBA Championship dropped a video this morning they got 374 likes and all I’ve been hearing in the chat sports office every Studio I’ve gone into here it’s all about the Celtics so I want to beat him on today’s show if you guys could help me out for I can just have you know one little NAB at our Celtics host today uh I would really appreciate it so if you guys could drop a like on today’s video help us at least beat 374 likes I’m hoping we can at least get the 500 but hey you guys could help me out drop a like on today’s show so the report around JJ reic came from sham shiria as he was on the Pat McAfee show earlier today and he said this he said there isn’t an agreement as far as I know between the Lakers and JJ reck right now I’m told that the meetings were very impressive and he’s still the front runner to be the Lakers head coach I agree 100% JJ will be the next head coach for the Los Angeles Lakers we are just waiting on that tweet we are waiting on that report that could come literally as I’m filming this video that he will be the um next head coach for Los Angeles I think this is a okay move I don’t really love it I don’t really hate it I just uh this is just a highrisk high reward move in my opinion like if this ends up working out like people are going to be saying this was a genius hire by the Lakers but also if this doesn’t work out people are going to be absolutely killing Rob pinka killing LeBron James as you know they are the ones calling the shots but actually Shams disagrees with me by uh me saying that I think LeBron is calling the shots he said this I’m told LeBron James is not involved in the Lakers head coaching search that’s funny James has made it clear that this organization’s decision he’s had no conversation with the Lakers about JJ reic this is a LeBron James hire there’s no reason to lie about this I think this was coming in from Rich Paul told chams hey put this out there I need you to say this we’ll throw you whatever money it is underneath the table to just so just in case or when JJ reick is hired by the Lakers and just in case he does not work out they didn’t want this falling back on LeBron James because you know I think LeBron and his Camp think about the goat conversation a lot more than we think and you know MJ fans they’ll have one more argument in their kind of Playbook where it’s like LeBron James got this many coaches fired in his career he made this many bad decisions with the Lakers so I think this was just kind of you know Shams being a mouthpiece for LeBron rich and their camp but you know another kind of reason why I think this is BS is LeBron James it was reported on the Colin coward show that he texted Dan Hurley he texted Dan Hurley about the Lakers head coaching job Hurley did go on to say it was pretty cool that LeBron you know was obviously hitting him up and you know I I’m not saying it’s right or wrong where LeBron should be at the focal or at the front of this head coaching search but you know just for Shams to come out there and say that you know he is not involved at all I think is just a straightup lie because I bet you with the Cavs right now they’re in the same situation as the Lakers they’re interviewing a bunch of candidates I wouldn’t be surprised if Donovan Mitchell is literally in those meetings with the Cavs front office and whoever they’re looking you know to bring in so I just think it’s uh it’s just a lot of hoopla coming in from the Lakers organization right now a lot of BS but you know as it stands right now it’s looking more likely than not that JJ reck will finally become the Lakers head coach but you guys let me know this a controversial topic and you know I’m kind of down the middle and I hate you know not having a take on something if I would hire JJ reck but I’m really not sure and you guys can let me know if you’re not sure as well but let me know would you hire JJ reck y for yes and for no down in the comments section coming up next year on the program the magic are interested in d’angel Russell what about it the magic are interested in D’Angelo Russell as you know this is expected I think the magic are going all in on a perimeter score this off season and DLo does make a lot of sense as a fit for that roster you know they have Pao they have France V Vagner they need a guy who’s going to be that distributor who’s going to be that over-the-top scorer and DLo is a great fit but this was coming in from Jake fer who confirmed it he said I haven’t talked to anyone in Orlando I will admit publicly about Angel Russell being on their radar but I can guarantee you he is not on the Orlando Magic radar for more money than what he is potentially on the books for in La so if you guys don’t know D’Angelo Russell uh his player option is around $18 million so you know yeah $8.6 million so what fiser is saying that the magic would be interested in bringing in DLo maybe for around you know 15 to 16 million but if it’s that 1820 the M range I can’t see the Orlando Magic you know matching that or going that up and you know paying DLo that type of money and you know DLo if you look at those regular season numbers man I mean they’re fantastic like he’s an 18-65 a game guy on incredible efficiency 41.5% from downtown 45 and half% from the field you look at this graphic on screen right now and if you say he is a 65 guard you are saying that is my man I need him on my basketball team and I do also think this the magic are going to be aggressive they got some young and up andc coming Talent they see the East besides Boston like is anybody known as like a true true Powerhouse not really so I could see the magic going all in and maybe overpaying for Doo a little bit and maybe that report fiser had you know maybe that was uh some with with the magic just wanting that out there as you know potentially they don’t want to over pay and then when they do overpay they’re like oh what we had to so you know I definitely will uh say that the magic will be aggressive this off season and then in terms of Lakers side of things like they need to move off DLo like in terms of power ranking the must haves for the Lakers this off season is moving off D’Angelo Russell not at the top of that list and listen I just showed you guys his regular season stats let’s show you his postseason stats they are awful like they are truly truly awful in five games against the Denver Nuggets he was terrible couldn’t guard Jamal Murray couldn’t guard kcp can’t keep anybody in front can’t move their feet or can’t move his feet well enough you know to stay in front of guys and you know averaging 14 a game in the playoffs that’s okay but it’s the efficiency man I mean 31% from downtown 38% from the field he was able to playmake a little bit but he just wasn’t that impactful and I just don’t think his game translates well to the playoffs and this is where I get to this point like the Lakers need to be aggressive in getting an over the top score whether that’s Trey young Donovan Mitchell go all in for one of those guys or you build through the draft at that guard spot you have pick 17 you go get one of these guys like a Jared McCain or whoever it may be take a chance on a Ron Holland go that direction instead of you know you don’t need to know the oven is hot before you touch it like you will be able to know that and right now DLo where he’s at like he’s just not the same basketball player as he once was so I just think with where the Lakers are just makes too much sense for them to just you know move off the angel Russell get a new point guard in that system and just you know help LeBron and AD out because I’ll tell you what they are going to get sick of playing with DLo and you know I I’ll say this you bring DLo back next season he struggles get in the playoffs that’s going to be the biggest reason why you are a first round or second round or you know don’t even make the playoffs at all but you guys let me know give DLo a 2K rating because you know he does a lot of things well if I had to call it I’d probably give DLo probably give him an 80 overall in 2K I think that’s fair I think some people think he’s more of an 85 actually no I’ll go 79 I’m not going to give D the credit of being an 80 but you know he’s still one of my favorite basketball players to watch super smooth game you it just is I just don’t think he’s a winning basketball player and I just
