Joe Mazzulla said that Kristaps Porzingis “overrode the medical team” to play in Game 5. “And then when it was Game 5 at home, it was like, ‘Hey, this might be it. I’ve got to be out there.’ He was like, ‘I’m playing.’ He overrode the medical team and was just like, ‘I’m playing.’ Credit to him.”

  1. And now he’s a Boston legend forever.

He has his legacy game in game 1.

He seemed like he was struggling in his first half minutes, but he seemed to get into a rhythm in the second half and was much better about closing out and getting into his spots to set screens and all that.

Glad he went out there, and even happier that he didn’t seem to have any setbacks so he should be good to go next season!

Just don’t go the way of Rob Williams and mess up himself up for future seasons 😐

The fact the team was successful without him throughout the rest of the playoffs made his absolutely fantastic game 1 comeback performance all the more memorable. When he does his post-season health fixing, I fantasize about surgeons reinforcing his ankles and knees with adamantium or something. He’s got a lot of heart and talent, but some of the noodliest legs I’ve ever seen.

So now what … surgery? Be out all next season ? We need this guy healthy to win another 🏆. Teams are just gonna get better to try and beat us. We need KP.

That game 1, really quarter 1, was so fucking absurd it pretty much cemented him as a legend. That’s gotta be the earliest and least amount of mins someone has played to become that much of a legend tbh.

My favorite fact is that this team will absolutely be running it back.

I’m not saying it’s the bloody sock game but it’s up there with hero moments in my Boston sports lifetime. Going out there game 1 and playing injured as fuck game 5

  9. Game 4: we ain’t going to let him make that decision

Game 5: he wouldn’t let us make that decision

    BANNER 18

Wow I couldn’t have loved this guy more but to know he literally overruled the medical staff after Joe was like “we’re letting the medical staff make this call”

    what a fucking G

  11. BradWonder

Well I was wrong, guess our medical staff IS evil like the majority here thought

He should get surgery like yesterday, so that way he’s ready for the conquest of banner 19

He’s such a gangster I love it. You could tell how much it bothered him to not be out there battling with his team. Then again when he cane back and had an electric game only to go down yet again.

    Legendary Celtic.

He’s like “I’m getting surgery anyhow…give me the Luka drugs!”
