[Jake Fischer] James Borrego was the lead assistant in New Orleans this season, where he overlapped with new Pistons president Trajan Langdon. Borrego, though, has been in strong contention for Cleveland’s search that is expected to be finalized as early as today.

Important part is the end there. Looks like Borrego could be finalized today.
Edit: retweeted by Danny Cunningham as well.
Very cool.
As suspected, thanks to the LAL for wrapping up their search quickly.
I’d be just fine with Borrego
On the side note, i think 5 keeping the mitchell extension is what klutch wants to do with DG and cavs are trying to see what they can do with him
Wonder if the Monty firing is applying pressure to get something done now? Teams are in two totally different states but I think there is a lot of appeal in Detroit
Not surprising. Seemed like the best option all along and an offensive-minded coach is what we needed. Everything we do, and should be doing, firstly is with getting Mitchell to re-sign.
He of course is going to want the new coach to run an actual offensive system. For example, there would have never been a problem in the first place with spacing and starting Okoro if the offense used his strengths in setting picks and cutting, rather than just standing in the corner like a statue.
Just having alternating ISO ball between Mitchell and Garland is not an NBA offense. It’s not really a shock for anybody to be unhappy with the situation.
