Paul George says losing Robert Covington and Nicolas Batum really hurt the Clippers:

“We started the year off hot. Everybody was playing well, there was the energy there. It was kinda like the first time of us all being healthy with Russ now. It was the emergence of what it’s like being with Russ now with myself healthy, Kawhi healthy, and Russ full-time here. It was kind of like a fresh start… Then we traded to get James, and it’s not James’ fault of why we struggled, but the lost part of that was we lost RoCo, we lost Nico… Now you grab James, who is super talented offensively, now myself, Kawhi, we become the dirty guys…”

This whole bit on his podcast just seems really, like weak, it just comes across to me that he’s excusing how they played at the end, when it wasn’t because they missed roleplayers, the ‘stars’ just didn’t play well, also seems he’s content on just playing for money at this point

Ngl this is loser energy imo. The main benefit of signing him is so that he can guard opposing teams best players on the perimeter and he doesn’t even want to do that. So he won’t even solve the issues the Sixers need to address which are someone who can run the floor other than Embiid aswell as perimeter defense. Don’t sign PG imo. If LeBron isn’t available, just sign or trade for a big point guard who isn’t a cone on D and then with the rest of the cap space chase after perimeter defenders & shooters.

All this tells me is that PG doesn’t wanna be a dirty guy

Sounds like when you wanted to do a group project with the boys and everyone goofed off, so when you had to present you came up with a bunch of fake job titles and responsibilities for your friends so it looked like you actually did shit

  5. I don’t really love his answer, but he was being honest. We would be paying him to be the third option on the team. Someone who can elevate their game when embiid is out and can fire away threes when playing along side embiid and Maxey. If Maxey and embiid have off nights, he can be a guy who can elevate his role and occasionally be the 1 or 2 option. All we need him to play is decent defense, doesn’t need to be a shut down guy at this stage in his career. But if we did sign him I would try to get Caruso/ Dunn/ dosunmu to start at the SG and get a good role playing PF like Dorian finney smith/ tari Eason/ Naji Marshall to do more of the “dirty work”

What if it was these two he was referring to telling him about gm reputations and not harden?
