so things are not looking good right now for warriors fans at all obviously if you’ve been paying attention to the news Klay Thompson just unfollowed Golden State on Instagram and also deleted some photos of him and Steph Curry so usually I don’t like buying into like this Social Media stuff right we know fans like to speculate a lot on players social media and what they’re doing who they’re following what posts they’re liking and things like that kind of like how it is in pop culture in general people do that with artists all the time so usually I don’t buy into that stuff I remember that was a thing with like Donovan Mitchell a few years back or back in like 2015 or 2016 that was a thing with LeBron where they saw that he wasn’t following the Cavaliers on Instagram and there was nothing really there to see right it was no issue at all matter of fact he won a title with them shortly after that so usually I don’t buy into that type of stuff but with Clay this does seem real judging by how things have gone for Golden State over the last couple of years if you’re kind of watching them the chemistry isn’t the same the buyin isn’t the same things just really look all over the place for this team and on top of that he’s an unrestricted free agent he has the opportunity right now to go whever he wants so like I said there is a lot of Reason especially for warriors fans to feel like this may be the end of the road between him and Golden State so here’s the tough thing about Klay Thompson at this point in his career it’s been very difficult seeing a guy who we’ve recognized as one of the Premier players in the league one of the greatest Shooters the game has ever seen it’s been tough seeing his game decline like this so he’s 3 4 years old his injury history is very complex he had a torn ACL and a torn Achilles tendon over the last few years and his game has been a direct reflection of that complex injury history that we’ve seen from him in the last couple of seasons on top of that his defense has taken a major dip he used to be one of the best perimeter defenders in the league and he’s just taken a major slide on that end him getting benched last season was just the major sign of the decline of one of the greatest Shooters the game has ever SE seen so thing is just trying to figure out with this unrestricted free agency coming up for him how many teams will invest at invest in him at this point in his career he can go pretty much anywhere he wants but is the feeling Mutual for other teams would they be so willing to go and pay him given his injury history and how things have gone as far as his play that’s the thing right now that we have to figure out with this Klay Thompson situation is he can go wherever he wants but how much are other teams right now going to buy into him and that’s kind of a thing right now with a lot of All-Star players who could be on the move for one Zack LaVine things are weird right now between him and the Chicago Bulls reason he hasn’t been traded yet is because right now even though we know him as a good player his trade value is in question teams aren’t really aware of his true value right so they’re really skeptical to give up big packages to get him so same here with Clay teams are going to be skeptical to throw big offers at him because of his complex injury history and how that’s affected his game so there is a reality right now where golden state does offer him the best contract and bring him back but like I said judging from what we’ve seen early in the summer he’s just open to a lot of spots and judging by the Social Media stuff he wants to prioritize probably getting the hell out of there and getting in a new environment right I’m not trying to speak too early and too soon but him unfollowing the team with unrestricted free agency looming is very concerning so what are some spots right now outside of golden state that would make the most sense for Klay Thompson at this point in his career obviously he’s going to want to still contend right but he wants to contend and be on a good team in a different situation just by the way things are looking and who knows right maybe they can w a bit over the next couple of months and bring him back right maybe they can reunite this entire thing with him Draymond and steep but as I said things are really really ugly so let’s get into a couple of teams that I think would make a lot of sense for clay outside of Golden State for one we’ve heard the rumors on social media time the Orlando Magic now I like this idea right they were lacking big time from an offensive standpoint last season they were carried primarily by their defense they were one of the best defensive teams in the entire league being very young on average so usually you don’t see these young teams play this well on that end of the floor but that’s not the case for Orlando they were dominant from a defensive standpoint so adding Clay gives you an elite knockdown shooter who hopefully could return to being at least solid on the defensive end so he isn’t a liability we’re seeing right now with this final series how much if someone is a liability on the perimeter on the from a defensive stand Point how much that can affect you in a playoff series so if clay can at least be solid on that end again not dominant not all defense but solid enough on that end then that’s fine um if you look at Orlando last season offensively they were 24th in points 29th in three-point attempts and 24th in three-point percentage so they were a lackluster offensive team they were a lackluster scoring team because they couldn’t get up enough three-pointers and when they were getting them up they weren’t even knocking him down efficiently so adding him by virtue makes you a better offensive team they were missing a chunk of what makes for a good offense and lacking three-point shooting now you add one of the greatest Shooters of all time around some solid playmaking from guys like France vogner they’re going to see a major increase in production and they’re going to be better than what they were last season and judging by how wide open the league is and the trajectory of paollo banero and France Vagner and Jaylen Suggs who knows if they can make an Eastern Conference Finals run the only thing holding the back was offense adding clay does give you a boost on the offensive end I know we’re talking about clay cling and him not being as good but he’s still an above average three-point shooter even when he’s struggling right so we say last season he was struggling from three that’s like 37 38% from the three-point line right so he still is a plus for your team from a three-point shooting perspective adding him here in Orlando if he’s healthy does do a lot for them from an offensive standpoint and that will make them a better team and it’ll help them make a deeper playoff run think about what they were able to do in the first round they forced seven games against the Cavaliers without an elite offense and with a major lack of experience adding clay would be huge in getting this team to the next level so I’m a big fan of him going to Orlando like I said if it’s not Golden State then I think Orlando is a very intriguing destination for him next up the Dallas Mavericks now Dallas right now is in a situation as I’m recording this they are working on trying to climb from a three deficit in the NBA Finals so as I’m recording the series isn’t over with who knows what ends up happening but I do know this if Dallas wants to end up making another run of the title they’re gonna have to make some improvements to their roster Point Blank period I don’t think they can run it back with the same team and get to where they’re at this season so with their playing style very Centric around Kyrie and Luca having guys who can finish plays from outside the arc would be huge for them if they hope to build off of this season they did a good job with Derrick Jones and PJ Washington but there’s no better guy at finishing off plays from outside the three-point line than Klay Thompson he’s one of the greatest Shooters of all time like I just mentioned and as I said there when I was talking about Orlando at his worst Clay is still in a above average three-point shooter pairing him with Luca and Kyrie will keep defenses more than honest and it’s going to be more tough now to guard Luka donic one-on-one or in pick and roll scenarios because you’re G to have Klay Thompson spotting up in the corner right so now you’re going to be at a major major dilemma think about the Celtics offense the reason it is so dangerous right now is because the off ball Defenders have to make very tough decisions when it comes to guarding drivers do we sink in and help but if we do that then we’re going to give up efficient three-point looks and guys like Drew holiday and Derek white and Christof porzingis are Elite level three-point Shooters what is Klay Thompson an elite level three-point shooter it’s going to have the exact same effect for the Mavericks so I think that’ll make him a really good fit just the point that he can go out there and knock down shots like I can just opens up more for Luca and Kyrie and just makes that offense even more dangerous they can run this similar offensive style as they did this season even though I’m not a major fan of it it’ll be even more dangerous to guard with having Thompson as an option out there on the three-point line only issue is the price right so it’s kind of getting to the nitty-gritty about his contract and everything like that that’s the biggest thing to work out but it does make a lot of basketball sense to Perry prolific shooter like clay along with Luca and Kyrie so again I’m not saying he’s 100% out of Golden State but I’m judging by my context clues he probably wants out right I’m not going to be an unrestricted free agent and unfollow my team and delete photos and still think a fan oh he’s going to come back right I think this thing is over just just just from how how I’m observing it how things went for them during last season I think this thing is over I hate to see it because it gave us one of the greatest cores of all time Steph Draymond and Clay one of the greatest NBA trios one of the most iconic NBA trios of all time but all good things must come to an end now this video is completely Nolan void if he does resign and like I said one thing golden state has that other teams don’t have is that they can probably sign him for the most but we’ll see what ends up happening but outside of Golden State if he truly is looking to get the hell up out of there those are the two best options and best situations for clay so we’ll see what ends up happening things are definitely going to get shaken up this summer and it’s going to start with seeing how we see this Warriors core change throughout the offseason if it changes at all

Klay Thompson unfollowed the Warriors on Instagram a few days ago and it set off a frenzy on social media regarding his status with the team. With his free agency looming, there is even increased speculation about where he will end up by the time the beginning of next season roles around. There are a number of interesting situations for him to end up in such as the Orlando Magic (who are in need of a major boost offensively) and even the Dallas Mavericks who could use as much help around Luka and Kyrie next season as possible. If he doesn’t return to play with Stephen Curry next season, the amont of options for a player of his caliber (even despite his injury history) are plentiful.
